I would imagine it helps with grouping them into triangles so that it matches up with how he aims and reads them, while full alting would make it more of a aids square or something.
starting triangles from the same finger gives me more stability on these patterns, i do the same on non-breath oblige (only possible if the bpm isn't too high)
