    I've noted Arksen, they pack a lot of "essentials" into a relatively small space, promise excellent capabilities, no fuss design and an interesting "Green" philosophy. I like the deck plans so definitely on the Explorer list.

    This yacht company caught my interest, as many of their models struck me as a less hardcore/more luxury production re-envisioning of the famed Dashew FPBs.

    Your insight into Feretti’s options put that company into the best light possible. The fire was tragic for everyone. Your suggestion about Feretti using the strength of their range to find options for their clients is a real insight into that company.

    Great video! Love the fact that a British yacht builder is using Aluminium throughout its entire range. If you put the approximate price in your thumbnail you will get the same amount of views as "aquaholic" as I feel the first thing people (dreamers) ask is "how much". I know the difficulty of some boat yard owners not allowing you to say what price a yacht costs but surely you could give a ballpark number? Keep up the great work it keeps us dreamers going!😁

    Thats a nice range of vessels. The 75 looks amazing. I live in Southampton. And I have got some opportunities to visit a few vessels, and yards locally in the future. Unfortunately as my health is battling extra issues, on top of my normal unbearable disability issues. I have surgeries on hold - since pre covid, and in a bad way. So hope after they treat my extra issues, I can pop along to the tours. I'd love to get a tour of this Isle of Wight shipyard. It looks like the old Hovercraft factory site? I think that's the same hanger that Christopher Cockerall built his legendary hovercraft in East Cowes, when it was Saunders roe then Westland. My finances are tight at present also, so have to wait til after ops.
    Always look forward to seeing your videos sir.
    Maybe when you find your dream boat, I could get a your. A fool can dream lol.

    Any design can be adapted in ways that the original designer may not anticipate; when publications reach a broader audience, we learn to be respectful of the new populations we reach. And by doing so, even one domain can serve many subjects despite its focus.

    What's the difference between an "explorer" yacht and a non-explorer yacht of same size and same range? I'm thinking of the "Silent 80" vs the "Silent 100 Explorer" apart from size. To be clear, even the Silent 60 has Trans-ocean crossing capabilities, so "exploring" cannot be only referring to the ability to go further. On the other hand it, I don't think the "Silent 100 Explorer" has the capability to cut through ice like some of the antarctic explorers have. I'd appreciate any insight :)

    A quick check of their site suggests they offer a range of engines, even number of engines (2 or 3) and that being the case presumably they might consider putting the DIESEL outboards instead of petrol. If you do start to investigate this boat it's something to ask about. More fuel efficient. Great torque. And some places don't have petrol - but everywhere has diesel.

    i dont know allot about yachts, but what i would expect with expensive ships these days is automation, with all kinds of autopilot settings camera`s, scanners, lidar and such so you could go hands off and relax and still move to your destination . things you start to see with electric cars. or is that a complete no no? it could safe allot of expensive personnel.

    • @OG_Wonder_Woman
      @OG_Wonder_Woman 3 роки тому +2

      There is cruise control and auto pilot already, as well as cameras, sonar etc. But you can't ever have a 'self driving boat' like what Musk is 'promising' (but hasn't delivered). The ocean is just too unpredictable and if something goes wrong, responding in the first few seconds can make a huge, life saving difference. That's why they have watch berths on many, so the helm person can literally sleep next to the helm, especially in rough weather.
      You can put screens in your master cabin to check the engines, fuel, temp, weather, etc. But you wouldn't just set the trajectory and then sleep for 8 hours, with no one at the helm.
      All of the new tech is really cool and makes it easier for a couple to be owner operators, but there is no substitute for paying attention on the open sea.

    Looks very nice. The range is very impressive. But the proof is in the passage making. Hopefully the owners will have a great success in their travels . Luxury explorers yachts seldom seem to actually crisscross the oceans even though the builders say they can. Cdm makes beutuful explorer yachts but they still seem to travel the med and not much beyond. Nordhavn builds very capable, trawler, yachts but they are far from elegant. But they travel the world in great numbers. I think the difference is in the owners mentality. Elegance and exploring seldom go hand in hand

    Shame about Ferreitti hopefully all will work out for them and the owners. Arksen yachts just came up on my radar the 85 is perfect for what I'm looking for long range shallow draft for the Bahamas, but transpacific for Thailand,Japan, etc and owner operator or small crew depending upon the need of the moment, but it's just out of my price range.

    I have watched your channel for some time and can now answer a question for you that you have posed on this vid...you asked why the reluctance to reveal and be transparent about prices...the answer is simple...it is all about divulging Profit Margin...as PT Barnum once said, there is nothing wrong with making a Profit....I can tell you that customers can be completely aware of all costs but completely ignorant to the purpose of profit except superficially...and I don't care how informed the consumer...no matter how razor thin your profit margins are to remain viable and in business in any industry...customers will always harbor resentment over the Profit number because they will always disagree the amount of money you apportion to risk vs. investing your capital...I have sat with over 10 thousand customers over a 40 year career, and not one didn't have a scowl when they found out profit....they always feel it is too much..and always feel ripped off in some form or fashion....even if you lay out all of the fixed and variable costs...they don't believe they should have to fit the bill for the "risk" and that is the answer why the lack of transparency....General Motors doesn't reveal it, so why should anyone else...

    Hi Mr. Seal. All due respect. I was a subscriber, but have noticed. you no longer do the amazing walk-thru's or visit the builder. Now you're more focused on 60 second views, and reactions. (one of the reasons I un-sub'ed). No I see you are not even doing a walk-thu, but your just promoting a new venture (un-proven, and no measured history of excellence). I "fear" you are now "big" enough that you no longer care about the quality, and details, but are just looking for the paycheck. Is this truly what Palmer &Johnson wanted? I know it's not what I did when I fell in love with your channel 3 years ago.
