Hi. I have some questions based on my experience with the first version. How long does it take to recharge? Does the battery drain if you watch with power plugged in? Can you sign into UA-cam ? Is there a browser, like Chrome, which isn't restricted and allows you to sign in to other streaming services you might belong to? Can you cast your phone screen to it?
The Capsule 3 laser projector is impressive in its portability and form factor. Also the smooth UI is really great and so is the image quality. Thank you for the recap of your experience, with this really great projector Sir Chris✌👍
Love this! Thanks for the follow up review! Also for anyone interested in knowing what's inside the projector, JerryRigEverything has made a teardown video.
Chris, you mention in your "CONS" that you can't charge it and use external media at the same time, but I'm pretty sure this is feasible with the use of a USB-C hub. I haven't tried it yet, but intend to in a few days. Maybe you can shed some light on something I find really weird. If I'm right, I consider it a pretty big flaw. Before I used mine for the first time, I plugged in a different streaming device, via the HDMI port, knowing I wanted to test it with the Capsule 3. I assumed there would be a way to switch modes between the built-in Android TV, and the HDMI port. The mode button would obviously be ideal for this. After starting the projector, I could not find any reference to switching to the HDMI input, and the mode button only goes back and forth from projector to bluetooth speaker mode. My only option then was to unplug the external streaming device, and plug it back in. It recognized the input at that point, and auto switched to it. Am I crazy, or is plugging in a HDMI device, then unplugging it when one wants to switch back to the internal Android TV, the only way to switch back and forth between sources?!? If so, I consider that a HUGE goof by Anker, and one probably not solvable by software update. Please tell me I'm just missing something here. Thanks for the 4 months update.
Additional Cons: 1. Plug wire too short 2. Remote difficult to see in the dark 3. For the cost, it should have came with protective travel case and stand 4. Overheats 5. Fan is loud
Too expensive..😅. .. formovie s5 ...d5x dangbei more powerful and more cheap... With 500$+. I guess its better deal ...i hope If you can checking the d5x dangbei .. really i think is the best ..thank you for your review
Hello Chris, After 1.5 year of use, my Nebula Capsule 2 has problems with the image (not focusing properly and very dark image). Just to let you know, the post-purchase service is not helpful at all as if guarantee is expired they only offer you a bonus to buy a new one and don’t even recommend you services centres in Europe. I think it’s a problem with the led. Do you know how to repair it? Besides that, all works perfectly so it’s a pitty. Thank you! 😊
Nice objective review. I'm a new comer to such gadgets. Is it possible to play videos saved on my Android phone as well as using the phone's internet and porwct it?.Can I project it onto.the ground holding it in my hand and walking?
I am in need of a projector that fits into a backpack and can be used for a colorful business / medical presentation. Source will be a laptop with USB-C. I don't mind having to get a USB-C to HDMI cable but need to be sure that text is sharp and it is bright enough for a lit conference room. I am leaning towards the capsule 3 laser as it appears to accomplish what I am needed but I have not seen anyone yet comment or review this projector for my use case. Please assist.
I have the same question. I work in adult education and would like a projector for presentations. So manly for text. The form factor would be great. But does it work in a room with daylight. I don’t need to have a cinematic experience just readable text and the occasional graphics. I’d really appreciate some help since there seem to be no real reviews for projectors and this use case.
The UI is not smooth. I’ve had it for months now and the unit runs slow most of the time. UI navigation is slow. I have turned off everything I could and it still get slow many times.
It is but it's a laser 1080p one with built in battery and a small size so it was never going to be cheap for the spec of it. Other models with similar spec are about the same.
@@Techtablets yeah that doesn't change the fact I can buy a portable battery and a 200$projector for a total of $350. Probably even more brightness too. This is and all in one tho so that's cool. But for q An added 300$ idk
The main point is it is Portable, meaning a buisness person should be able to do an Adobe PDF presentation with it. Can this projector, run a PDF presentation without the use of a connected laptop.
Which is better overall this or the xgimi halo plus also how does the nebula preform in a room with daylight coming through and finally I’ve heard people say that the capsule 3 laser image becomes very pixelated when viewing up close is this true? Also sorry for all the questions I just want to be sure it’s worth it 😊
Thoughts on capsule 3's over splash? I just got mine and im amazed at how much over splash there is. No one's mentioned it, wondering if mine is a defect.
@@anonymous4201 I just returned mine for no other reason than it wasn't bright enough. I wasn't familiar with what 300 ANSI lumens was, probably my fault. Grabbing the Mars 3 next. Outside of that, the picture was great. Over splash is definitely noticeable but I was using it at very sharp angles. If you center the projector straight on with your screen, it's not noticeable and the image is great. Sound on the other hand....I had to use a blue tooth speaker. The sound on this projector is not good ( but thats to be expect, its a projector)

Its pretty decent but after using it I found myself wanting more brightness. Its ok in a light controlled room but its versaltility kind of disappears after that. A brighter projector can be used with a powerbank also making it fairly portable. The usability is very good. Having a non lit remote in a projector remote is dumb.
