Major compliment coming from you Mr. Dayton. Cody is one of my new favorites but my love for Glen goes back to kindergarten when my teacher played Rhinestone Cowboy for us on acoustic. I was hooked. I wanted a guitar and a songbook with every Glen Campbell song in it. Hope to run across you touring one day. Would love to sit and listen. And maybe get a lesson on all them dang chords in Wichita Lineman...lol.
This may be the best cover of this song I've ever heard. So happy that I fell onto this by accident. Cody my friend, you have the gift. God bless you, and keep on singing and picking. Absolutely perfect.
At this moment in time Cody can do no wrong! Here he is again, flat out, kill’n it! Glen loved hearing others sing his music and I think he’d be giving a standing ovation!
Well this was beautiful. I used to listen to Glenn Campbell sing this on my old transistor radio when I was a little girl (I am old, lol) -this is a beautiful acoustic cover. 💜
I used to listen to Glen Campbell back in the late 60's and this was one of my favorites by him. Oh my gosh, you sang this so well! And the guitar work ain't bad either! This guy is one to watch.
Wonderful one of my all-time favorites I was like 7 years old in Glen Campbell was popular with his own TV shows and me and my dad's mom always enjoyed his music and I still do
Awesome rendition..... I believe you when you sing it! Bravo!!!! You can hear and feel the intimacy of a quite campfire setting. Ok, now we need to talk about putting stickers on your Martin.
This is a super hard song to sing and especially play. Much respect to Glenn Campbell and CoJo for putting his neck out on the potential chopping blocks
This is the best version of this sing in my opinion. So much soul put into it. Ive watched more than 5 popular artists sing this and michael peterson is a close 2nd
When an artist can actually sing they sound better live than when the studio manipulates the recording. I have seen both George Strait and Alan Jackson in their early days and they were so much better live than any recording. I suspect Cody is the same.
FINALLY! I love this song, but at the risk of being stoned, the original is so overproduced with all the strings and synths etc. I've been looking for a stripped down acoustic version of this song forever and this fires on all cylinders.
Great job Cody. I played with Glen for 15 years and yours might be the best cover I've heard. Congrats!

Just gorgeous. He's the real deal.
Great vocals, nobody beats Glen’s guitar picking.

Awesome guitar playing by Cody-cool chords! Love Jimmy Webb. Not exactly a camp fire song but man he killed it.
I've been listening to this song for 50 years, and you are as good as Glenn. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a super hard song to sing and especially play. Much respect to Glenn Campbell and CoJo for putting his neck out on the potential chopping blocks

Wow. Mr. Glen would be proud
So would Mr. Jimmy Webb, who wrote this song.

Wow! Glen is probably smiling...
I need this on my Apple playlist please
Amazing! How can this be such high quality outside a studio?
When an artist can actually sing they sound better live than when the studio manipulates the recording. I have seen both George Strait and Alan Jackson in their early days and they were so much better live than any recording. I suspect Cody is the same.
This song wouldve been amazing at the cma awards
Awesome - appreciate this. As simply FYI, Keith Urban and R.E.M do great covers of this song as well.
Great! Jimmy Webb was a genius
Good ship USS Wichita served on it 1973
Dang…..some vocals….I’d pay
Awesome job. Can anyone tell me the chords hes playing?
Hard to follow Glen but this is a perfect rendition of this classic song.
I think I’m 13k out of the 18k views of this video
i like listening and singing this song but my vocal's low
Anyone got the chords and plucking pattern for this?
If there is any doubt still left in your heart, CoJo, you made the right choice. Music over rodeo. This…coming from a rodeo mom. 😂
I wish Cody Johnson or somebody could go step by step through the chords so I could figure it out I'm having a hard time
SEND me THE MUSIC 🎶 AND ViDEO
Anyone know the chords for this version
FINALLY! I love this song, but at the risk of being stoned, the original is so overproduced with all the strings and synths etc. I've been looking for a stripped down acoustic version of this song forever and this fires on all cylinders.
Record this one
Cody should do a Johnny cash song
Ahh
