Larger physical defender here. Been swam over at practice an I can confirm it's a very effective dodge when performed correctly. I wasn't able to catch up with our middie but thankfully our head coach was playing goalie meaning it didn't get in lmao.
Not really…I’ve been playing for 3 years now and I’ve never heard of the bull dodge. I’ve learned the split dodge, face dodge, spin dodge and swim dodge (also known as the overhand dodge) and have mastered every single one but never heard of the bull dodge
@@parsec9446good lax coaches are scarce across the country.. especially cuzz they get hired by private schools/or charge way too much for lessons. We need better coaching. Not knowing what the bull dodge after 2+ years of playing is is due to 1. Lack of coaching knowledge and 2. Clearly not watching any lacrosse. I tell my players to watch games, especially in the offseason.

Thanks so much Jake. I’m a small but quick middie and some of these will come in really handy.
i play girls lacrosse but these dodges were still super cool and informative! thank you!
@@unclejay7343 they use a different stick and have different rules so some dodges are simply going to be different in women’s lacrosse.
@@hiruzen8587 yeah i understand, i dont know why i made this comment nor do i remember it
Are the dodges similar?
You still play?
thanks so much for this video i tried the bull dodge in practice yesterday and its my favorite dodge now
This helped so much because it’s my first year and I play middi
I feel like everyone starts as a middie
@@andrewshaw1321 yea I prop bc it does so many things so they see how you play around in different spots
@@andrewshaw1321 yea i started middie but it kinda stuck so these moves were sick to use
playing for 7 years but this is a great refresher
Ima use this in my game tomorrow thx

Great video again! I hate the swim move...I loved when the guy I was covering tried it though.
Great video, love your work. I am from Hong Kong and just started playing lacrosse.
Thanks Marcus! So cool to hear you just started :)
@@LaxWeekly just want to say thank you, I find your youtube channel very helpful and informative.

I’ve been playing for 6 years now and I wish I knew the bull dodge, that will definitely help me
You played for 6 years and didn't know the bull dodge?! That's like the second dodge a coach teaches you, right after the split dodge

Jake are you going to any games this weekend? I am going to Centenary College vs. Cornell College.

Very useful
Make a Chris Gray vid

0:55 the team oregon special bro
Love it
being a 6'3 incoming freshmen switching from d to middie, I might just implement the bull to my bag
Ty
idk abt ug but im a lsm tryna learn some of the midfielders tips lol
Why does everyone think that Canadians only use their dominant hand!😂
Bruh he said the PREFER they’re dominant hand like YOU
Because they play a lot of box
in second clip, 19 had great position, just shouldnt have gone for the vhold wrap
Make a video on bubba fairman
Can mid attack do these
yup!
As a long stick all I can say is don't over chase, watch their hips, play their bottom hand, and let them dance around all they want
I am a short stick looking to improve my defense game. When you say play the bottom hand, what do you mean by that.
@@stray--god he means check the bottom hand, lift it, etc.. it’s the weakest spot and practically makes it impossible to cradle without flipping your stick
I don't tend to dodge and I think I should dodge more I find myself only dodging when I know I can beat the defenseman with strength
Cool
Brother a “wing dodge” is not a dodge it’s a general action which requires a move being made like the toe drags we saw
