I think Fossil is dumb for not including some instruction like that in the box. Thanks for the follow up video. I think their website is broken.
Hi James! Our website is up and running! If you are having trouble accessing our website, please let us know your country of residence so that we can assist you.
To anyone struggling to get the clip to snap back into place. Do step 2 but in reverse. Put flathead screw driver in and this time push up instead of down.
Omg, thank you for this!!! I was so afraid I was going to break the clasp and this worked perfectly.
You are a savior 🥰
Thank you!!
Worked on the band for almost an hour and watched 3 videos before I saw your recommendation. Now super easy. Thank you so much.
You have no idea how much this helped me it FINALLY works tysm
It's actually incredible how unintuitive and dumb they can make a design. The fact that you literally need a tool to adjust the strap just makes it really bad
I can't believe how difficult it was to unclip the adjustment piece and now it's impossible to get it back into place. Ridiculous.
Mine doesn't want to snap back :( I was.so excited to wear it
Hi Jenny, we'd like to help! If you could send us a message with the style number of your watch (located on the case back, i.e. ES-1234, FTW-1234, etc.) and your country of residence to us at social@fossil.com, we'd be happy to get started.
Okay, im glad its not just me. Mine does not snap back in place.....why is this so hard. Also Fossil, just a suggestion. Please include instructions on how to open the watch and adjust it. I had to Google/ you tube everything. Im sure this would increase owner satisfaction. So how do we get this clasp closed back?
Hello! We'd be happy to help you, if you could send us a message at social@fossil.com, with the style number of your watch (located on the case back, i.e. FTW-1234, ES-1234, etc.). Looking forward to hearing from you!
@@Fossil i did email you guys. Im waiting on a reply
Thank you for letting us know! A member of our team will be getting back to you, shortly.
@@mbreezy7226 did they get back to you?
@@lotofbitsabout nope. I just went to a Fossil store and they fixed it for me
Just tried this on my wife's new watch. I'm a 220 lb dude and getting that clasp to snap back into place after setting it in the groove was next to impossible. What a PITA.
I'm so glad I saw this, I figured I was doing something wrong. I could NOT get it back in. But, I peeled the plastic wrap off the band (it's new) and placed it over the clasp once I had it where I wanted it, and then used a rubber mallet to gently pound it back in. The plastic held the little piece down, facing the right way (the go-back-in way), otherwise it just kept flipping over to open again. Use a piece of saran wrap if you don't have the new-watch plastic wrap. It worked like a charm!
I had to use my teeth to put it back., 🤣
@@anjuabraham8859 you’re a genius! Thank you!
@@anjuabraham8859 Thank you, for this typ. Litelary the only idea that worked was to use my teeth. :D :D
I was sceptical whether belt adjusting video will be there for this or not😅 made my day !❤️👍
Very hard to clip back in but finally got it. Thanks
Use the screwdriver to snap back in place. It was very easy.
Yes! Thank you helpful!
This doesn't really work well; my button won't snap down. The narrow hole is too narrow for the tools I have like tweezers, components of my Swiss pocketknife, and the file arm in my fingernail clippers.
How do I swap a stainless steel to a leather strap?
How did you strap it on your wrist. I've had this fossil watch for months now and I've never been able to wear it
It’s watch now available??
& price??
Thanks. Didn't know how to unlock it to adjust the clasp. Looks amazing and works perfectly.
Glad this helped! Keep on rocking that watch! 😎 🙌
Too bad i can open it but cant close the watch clamp after its open this is the second watch ive received after returning the other for the same issue.
Excellent video, instructions were perfect!
THANK YOU I felt so stupid for not being able to figure this out... You made my day!
Of course! We're always here to help! 👍 😎
I know you don't realize it because you already know what you are doing and you don't see the down falls. My band has two places where a small screwdriver could go. So it so happened I put it in the wrong one and bent the clasp. Then at the end of your video you didn't show us how to put it back together which my band was not together when it was given to me so I was completely confused. And the bands is black the clasp is black and I don't see so well anymore. So thanks for almost nothing. Good grief already.
Hi Ronnette! We are sorry for any confusion that has been caused in adjusting your watch band. Please email us at social@fossil.com so we can further assist you!
I can't move the slider tighter... I can move it to be looser, but not tighter. Something is catching the mechanism...
Hello Homer! We are happy to look into this for you. Please email us at Social@fossil.com, so we can provide you with more information regarding your inquiry.
How to clip it back?? It is almost impossible 😭
Kinsey es4726 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 how???????
It's so hard to clasp back in! Any advice?
Hello Yaretzi, we're so sorry for the late reply and for the trouble pressing the slotted clasp. Make sure the clasp is set in one of the indentations on the back of the band. Press down on the open clasp until it clicks into place. If you need more help, please email us at social@fossil.com.
now how do you put the watch on
It won’t snap back in
Watch name pls ????
Mine doesn't snap closed that easily

Hi Awilda! If you require further assistance, please send us an email at social@fossil.com, so we can provide you with more information.
Mine either, I will take it to a Fossil store for them to adjust it, 'cause I can't snap mine too, I called the store and they told me to bring it up there and they will adjust it for me with not cost, mines are two Julianna 5 gene smartwatches both are new, I just bought them in Summer and haven't use them 'cause the mesh strap are big for my small wrist so they will adjust it, is better to take it to a store they have the tools and have better experience.
I thought i was the only one... I’m afraid ill break it if i keep forcing it. And I don’t have a Fossil store nearby :/
thank you❤
Can you pls suggest me to what to do? It's still loose . Can I push the locking clip upto my need? I mean there are points.can I push it beyond the last Mark?
Lol
Glad I found this video. Why cut away at the most important part?
My new gen 5 smartwatch will not snap back
same here i’ve been trying for two days

How is it mine falls off when I try to close it. The end parts doesn't close
Followed and watched the video several times. I cannot snap back. Help please.
My clasp keeps coming loose. Not a great detent
There is a problem in my watch...it says tighten band and try again...what to do
Lovely, so helpful. Saved my so much time. 😁
Hey bro where shall I get a extra chain strap 🙂 to purchase
What do you do if the tail end is too long? My wrist is so small that it gets caught in the bend where the strap meets the watch face (head? Base?) Can we cut it?
Good Morning Melissa, Thank you for your comment. To best assist, please respond with your item's SKU number (located on the back of the watch face, e.g. BQ1234). From there, we will be in contact with appropriate team members to develop a solution that will best aid in this matter. We are looking forward to your response!
I feel so dumb not knowing this, thanks! Lol
Lockdown lifesaver. Thanks!
Can you trim off the extra material? My wrist is super small and it is so bulky. I love the watch though.
Me too! I've been watching videos, and all they show are how to move the clasp. I need like half an inch cut off the tail end.
Thank you so much for this video, really helped me.
How do you remove a mesh band?
Needed this. Thank you!
Thanks so much! ❤
That strap type
Awesome! Thank you 😊
Thank you!
Thaaank u!🥰
Thanks dude
This does not work. The clasp does not click back in place at all. I bought the watch twice. For the first one, I asked for an exchange because thought was a defect. The new watch had the same issue with the clasp. So, I called Fossil support without success. After being on hold for sometime, my call was forwarded to a voice mail which was full. Returning watch (again) ..... this time for a refund.
This also happened to my moms just got the second one in today and it does the same thing
