Hey, loving what you guys are doing. Have you ever looked into the history of your shipping containers? Like where they've been? Would be super interesting.
Thank you!! I found a website way back when we started where you can track them. :)
I would love to find a woman that would enjoy and help doing a project like this!!! You are a lucky guy!!! Take care of each other!!!
Thank you!! :)
Looking awesome! 👌 👏
Thank you!! :)
Love your videos! Sad they are so short.
Thank you!! Some will be longer than others depending on what we are working on. :)
You might want to look into a product called rubr-coat #57 by black jack. It’s black and thick. Almost like a bed liner coating if you remove about 2 measuring containers worth of the thin liquid before you mix it. Just something to look into for when you have to repaint. Might hold up way longer than just your primer and paint. I am in the process of doing this on my container house build. I have few videos of my progress on my channel if your interested

Thank you for the suggestion! I will look into that. :)
👍👍👍
What a difference, I love the color too! I wonder, do you paint the bottom with an oil based primer?
Thx!! The bottom is zero rust primer but I can't remember if it's oil based. :)
Do you seal and paint the underside of the containers to help prevent rust ?
We did, but depending on where you live it might not be necessary.
What brand of marine grade dtm paint do you use? Any issues you've seen (i.e. you are close to the ocean and although marine grade is supposed to hold up, it would be interesting to hear your experiences...)? Thanks!
We use a 2 part marine paint from CMP Coatings. We've had a great experience so far and their products hold up well to corrosion.
Did you paint over the decals, or remove them somehow?
We removed them with a pressure washer :) ... you can see the process in the 5th container refurbishing video.
Spraying is that last 10% of a paint job.
In this circumstance spraying was majority of the job since we had such a large surface to cover
@@PacificPinesRanch Eh, running an airless on big panels is fast. What takes the time is pulling the decals, sanding, etc. Almost takes as long to pressure wash after sanding as it does to spray. Guessing someone else did all that. I've painted a lot of buildings, and doing commercial marine coatings for a living. It's almost time to crack a beer once the paint gets opened.
concentrate only on rabish ,vesting time .
A jack of all trades... Hi ma'am, New sub. l arrived here via Instagram. I've spent the last couple of years following another couple building another off grid shipping container home in Texas. Alas there build is nearing completion and l'm super keen to follow your progress too.
I'm gonna have to go back and start at the beginning of this build but that's fine.
Cheers from New Zealand 🍻
Thanks for joining us!! LOTS more videos to come... :)
