You should use a Garden Cart(big metal wagon with large rubber wheels) to haul around your weilder. Then only one person can pull it around as opposed to carrying that thing along with the cart.
You made the right choice on welding the posts as the chemicals could have been effected due to excess heat, great to see how you have such a strong work ethic...
Just caught up with the build from the start, amazing to see what you've built so far! This would never be possible where I live (europe) due to regulations so its nice to be able to follow a build like this. I see these yellow MSC containers every day in the harbour I live close by, its crazy to think your home has been all around the world!
Amazing progress over the last year. I always wondered whether you are showing this in real time progress or the house has yet been finished! Keep the vids coming! Suerte y saludos del sur de Chile!
Thank you so much!! The videos are old and we are much farther along in "real time". The backlog allows me to post a video every week to share our project though. :)
My deepest respect for all the effort you both took on this part of your project. Must be a lot of hard labor! Looks very nice and slick. I'm very curiouse how the end result of your home will be. Keep up the good work. Like this video and can't wait to see the next one. Greetings from Holland
Good Saturday Morning to you both. It is amazing everything you both have done 👍. Did you both know how to weld before you started this? Nice to have help with the sanding 😁.
Thank you!! We use a couple different sandblasting techniques depending on what we are doing. If you look back at previous videos of refurbishing the containers you can see the setup. 😊
I mig welded with flux core. I have no idea off the top of my head but I can definitely say prices have went way up since we bought them. I will do a cost video as we near the end of the build with a breakdown. :)
Thank you!! I will show all of these steps once we get there. Not completely sure about wiring yet but for heating/cooling we'll be doing a ductless heat pump, and insulation we'll be doing spray foam.
36:14 "My goodness I am Amazing, I hope this is being filmed?" {looks back at the camera} "Oh good it is" {walks away proudly} 😆😆😆😆😆😆 Great job you two.
@@PacificPinesRanch you could have put shims/washers under the edges when the gu was setting, but hey your where you are now looking good. Good luck 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
It is coming along very nicely. I hate to think what you will have spent on all the steel you have bought for this build. I enjoy some DIY welding projects and steel ain't cheap. As long as I don't compare it to aluminum. I cringe when I buy it to TIG a project.
Thank you!!! Steel prices have definitely went way up since we bought most of our steel. I feel the same when we get quotes for stainless... it's painful lol.
I explained why in the video briefly but I didn't want to melt the epoxy under the plates so I jumped around to allow the steel to cool down before doing another pass on the same plate.

First of all where did you learn English?? And Mrs Jessica is doing an amazing job of explaining in detail as they make progress with the build.. do you like learning?
This content could be so amazing but, needs to reorient around the work and not the dictaphone like journal, that it is doing. Everything that sounds like it would be interesting to watch, is poorly filmed - either with no thought as to how to capture the action or with no lighting to show the action - or, worse, totally ignored in favour of TELLING you what is going to be done or some other uninteresting update. Quite sad, wasted potential. Look at Ambition Strikes, Trent & Allie ... so many others that really know how to maximise the content. Have confidence that the content is interesting, because it really is!
The challenging part is we are both doing the work so it’s impossible to be working & creatively filming at the same time. I also have to be careful to not ruin my gear by setting up my cameras close to what we are doing (sparks, debris, etc). I’m not a professional videographer, I’m self taught so I’m learning as we go & doing my best.
@Pacific Pines Ranch first off, I want to apologise for the tone of my comments above. I have no right to tell you how to produce content and I chose to watch, nobody forced me. And more than that, I wish to encourage your work, not make your life more difficult. So, deeply sorry, I just got carried away, my intentions were good, just poorly executed. I can appreciate that it is very difficult, I'm too scared to even try! My advice on the gear/setting front would be to get cheap cameras that you can place on selfie sticks and tape over locations - I saw one channel do this trick, to record some work they were doing on their roof. Also, lighting, it's worth buying some mobile lighting so that you can video from inside, when it's sunny outside, without everything looking dark and indistinguishable. You guys are doing awesome projects, it really would be a shame not to get the most out of it. Hopefully, as new subscribers come, you will be in a situation to invest in the production side. I'm sure you'll pick up the camera skills! Good luck, and again, apologies for my strong comments earlier.
What is your favorite thing in your garage? Comment and tell us about it! 😊

Long live that Vulcan welder! Those things are such champions.
Lol for real!! I've probably welded miles with it at this point. :)
thank you miss jessie you see this is the first time i have ever seen or heard of such a build

What kind of welder? About how much do those steel columns cost for one? About how much do those steel i-beams cost each?

Why didn’t you weld the plates to the tubes & paint them before setting them in the concrete??? 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
We definitely could have painted the tubes beforehand but it would have been very difficult to level the tubes with the plates already attached. 😊

@@PacificPinesRanch Yeah, I don’t think you ever told us....well, hello Jessica!!!
why are you moving all over the place to weld the post? tack it in place then do the opposite side from the one you just welded.
