    Love your narrations! I became fascinated with Tigers since the day I went to a zoo and there was nothing between us except an open strong plastic type glass. I had the lucky chance of being alone with the tiger, so I sat in front of the enclosed to observe. The cranky tiger flew at me with a vicious roar and hit her face and paws against the glass. Sitting there with an Amur tiger standing over me and snarling is something I’ll never forget.
    Through relentless searching I found this channel narrating these amazing stores, and I am so grateful for them! Thank you!

      I should add that I later found out the tigeress was heavily pregnant and gave birth a month later. Perhaps that is why she was in such a foul mood when I invaded her space.

      Hello! Appreciate the comment and thanks for sharing this lovely little story with us. I have been fascinated with tigers as well since I was a kid and something along the lines of what you described happened to me too. Its a long story, but the gist is that as a boy I once jumped over the outer enclosure at my local zoo to get closer to the tiger's cage when nobody was looking. I spent a good hour or so barely an arm's length away with the large male tiger who at the time was 15 yeara old, before I got caught and was escorted out.

    Your intense way of story telling has persuaded me to attentively watch your videos. What an amazing channel. While I feel almost bored by modern Hollywood horror movies, these stories truly instill terror in my heart. No matter how long or short. I don't know which one is my favorite, although I have listened to several of them twice. Especially the Panar leopard and Thak man-eater. The moment Anderson related that a whole was dug to hide in, I was instantly reminded of the account where this strategy had failed in the story with the two Tigers (Maneater & cattle lifter), where a sugarcane bowl was flipped on top. I knew this was going to go wrong and can only marvel at Andersons courage to withstand his own survival instincts.

    I have often wondered how did Anderson find the time and finances to go on all these hunting expeditions. As far as I can tell he used to work a job as a factory manager and also had a family (2 kids and a wife). Seems implausible to me how could he be gone for several days on end to these remote places.

    • @selvalorestudios
      @selvalorestudios  2 місяці тому

      I would guess a lot of these were on the weekends or when he was on leave or holiday/vacation, whatever you want to call it. He does speak of it in a lighthearted way in one of his stories ( I think in the "killer of Jallahali'), about how his wife wished that he would stay home more. Also, I remember reading his son Donald saying in an interview that most of these hunting expeditions from his books happened in pre-independent India (In the 30's or 40's) when Anderson was a young man and didn't hold down the factory manager job you speak of. Keep in mind, that the Anderson's were wealthy during this time and had ample domestic help, nannies or servants at home to help out with chores and children.
