There is no words for that performance, just top notch, best of the best, incredible. He was a one of a kind and I'm glad I got to live in that era to experience it.
When P reprises his solo at around 3:20, goes into a pirouette, and effortlessly comes out of it playing that high note on his Yellow Cloud guitar like it was no big deal...I still get chills off that moment. Totally unexpected, and totally cool. Most folks have no clue just how difficult that is, which is why you don't see many seasoned guitarists doing stuff like that. Respect and RIP to the Purple One.

I was never a huge Prince fan but like the odd song, including this one. When first saw this video years ago, I suddenly realised how amazingly talented he was and what an underrated guitar master he was too.

I agree, but I don't think that's giving Prince enough credit. He's one of the best musicians of all time. He could play at least 27 instruments. He was truly a very special individual and a musical genius.

I have been to first ave for about 200 different bands over the years. This man literally put this this venue on the map. He's soo famous in the cities that people recognized his limousine over the years. What a fantastic artist, sad to see him gone. He always supported the scene in Minneapolis. Such a loss.
This is the comment you leave when you know something prolific must be said after witnessing such an indescribably life changing performance, but as the tears insist that they must run down your face, and your heart is so moved, relentlessly dancing, and your mind is still so wrapped up in the epic experience...no... it was more than epic, it was spiritual, that it leaves you confounded & speechless! How can you not get inspired by him. My dad had the honor of meeting him in Thailand, back when he was touring. He said, hands down the coolest cat he had ever met. This is probably my all time favourite performance to watch. This is what music should be, drive emotion within you.

Prince is truly one of those artists (like Michael,Janet,Madonna,Mariah,etc.) that come around once in a lifetime that personify legendary. Even though legend truly is a disservice to someone like Prince because he transcended that word well beyond to the stratosphere. Nobody now has even 1/16th the talent that Prince possessed and it's a damn shame he's not here anymore to give his multitude of gifts to the world. I hope he's laughing in the Purple Rain wherever he is.

Incredible song all around but I LOVE to see him break off a piece on guitar after singing only the first part. The song was already like 10 years old when they did this, and you can tell how he perfected the chops for the lead. Just incredible.

It's now 2019 and still watching this. I get him out of my head for a little while, but make my way back to him. Some of the best times of my life were the 80's and listening to Prince. I'm just going to go ahead and say it...I'm now 54...happily married, but Prince does something to me I can't explain, and I don't mean that in a dirty way...he just touches parts of my deep, inner soul...especially when I watch him sing and play that guitar...I don't know how to explain it really, but will say that he is truly missed!!
