Boyz n the Hood is a 1991 American coming-of-age crime drama film. In 1984, ten-year-old Tre Styles lives with his single mother, Reva Devereaux, in Inglewood, California. After Tre gets into a fight at school, his teacher calls Reva and says that although Tre is intelligent, he is immature and lacks respect. Frightened about Tre's future, Reva sends him to live in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Central with his father, Furious Styles, from whom she hopes Tre will learn life lessons.

Lloyd Avery ll aka Knucklehead #2 (Who killed Ricky), played this role so well, that people on the streets, actually were afraid of him and believed he was a real Gangster and killer. In Hollywood, he was becoming very in demand and began building a reputation of being the "Go to Man" whenever a film needed a cold blooded killer Gangster. To increase his clout and reputation, he actually became a real gang member and actually started committing crimes, and even committed homicides. He ended up ruining his growing film career, including losing the Starring Role that was created exclusively for him, in BABY BOY to Snoop Dogg, due to John Singleton finding out about Avery's real life gang activity in which he was still participating in at the time. He was eventually was arrested and convicted of homicide and was serving a life sentence. While in prison, he became a born again Christian and was even taking college courses to be a chaplain and a counselor, in which he had begun counseling the other inmates. Unfortunately his Karma came back to haunt him, after he was murdered by his own cell mate.
