    • @11rabbitz
      @11rabbitz 7 років тому +22

      no it wasn't, Bowie meant fuck all to the vast majority of ppl in the world ,the only ppl who care he's dead is the few family members he had (as it should be)

    • @matthewmalpeli
      @matthewmalpeli 7 років тому +34

      charlie🎷 Death isn't a popularity contest. Bowie was the first popular entertainer who was unafraid to say he slept with men and women. You can't imagine what that breakthrough was like because you clearly weren't affected by the sexual disapproval of self righteous religious twats.
      But I was. He was the first man that said "You're ok" to me, even if it was inside my stereo speakers. So you can possibly understand how huge a loss he was to some people.
      He was not just another pop star. He changed culture. How many people can say that?

    • @11rabbitz
      @11rabbitz 7 років тому +5

      Matthew Malpeli I can understand how that might of inspired young people of the time, I remember clearly the anti gay rhetoric of the late eighties early nineties it was quite nasty tbh and the media played of both sides. A single popstar doesn't change culture dude the populas things in Society let's just call it the zigiest is designed by ppl much higher up the food chain then Bowie, he was simply a component of it. When Madonna finally kicks the bucket we all know we're going to have to deal with wall to wall coverage of a non entity that means nothing to anyone outside of their friends and family , we will be told bs that she shaped culture etc etc...bullshit.
      She changed her look once in a while!! So fk'ing what! A millionaire singer with a bang average voice with a team of stylists changes her look a few time in 3decades ! Let's all commemorate her for it !..wtf
      Bowie meant something to you in your younger days , but really he meant nothing ,presumably U had no contact with him and so to be perfectly frank you meant fk all to each other let's be honest. The zigiest knows there are vulnerable ppl out there and they use thier instruments like Bowie etc etc to get what ever bs they want . Bowie didn't write his own music didn't dress himself never did anything to speak out against his paymaster's and he dissed the man who made him famous the legendary John peel who gave a young Bowie a chance by airing his songs on radio one.
      But again what he meant to you is decided by you, so if you decided in your mind he was the confidence booster you needed then that's great, I hope to god or whatever that you didn't suffer back then mate and that people were tolerant towards you and others but I know it was a very dark time in recent history in regards to ppl of different sexual preferences. Best wishes for 2017..
      Yea sometimes I'm just a miserable git I know I know -_-

    Great rant however there is one point which I'd pick up on. Pie says "Russia and America announce a new Syrian ceasefire deal, it ends ten days later when an airstrike destroys a convoy of food and medical supplies in Aleppo", the truth is that the ceasefire was brokered on 12 September and was intended to last one week. On 17 of September US lead coalition airstrikes killed 62 Syrian soldiers in Dier al Zor, the ceasefire is declared over on 19 September then the aid convoy is attacked. So the truth is all sides are to be blamed.
    news.sky.com/story/syria-timeline-how-the-fragile-week-long-ceasefire-fell-apart-10585670

    • @Ivanus59
      @Ivanus59 7 років тому +2

      Yeah I think he really could have mentioned (while he was talking about Syria anyway) the fact that a NATO airstrike killed 62 Syrian Army soldiers... :c

    • @parhhesia
      @parhhesia 7 років тому +4

      Worse yet, the US airstrike crippled the Syrian government's ability to defend 100,000 besieged citizens from ISIS. The US conducted intense surveillance through drones for several days before annihilating the Syrian position on the hill overlooking the airport, then ISIS stormed the Syrian lines straight afterwards. The US has allied with ISIS and Al Qaeda in Syria, but that's not really much of a story because... I don't know, because George Michael died or something.

      Brexit, terrorist attacks, the attempted coup in turkey, the Zika virus outbreak/epidemic, killer clowns, the death of Harambe incident that became a huge meme and made national news, Black Lives Matter protests, and all of the Hillary vs. Trump election drama. 2016 was quite memorable. Tbf, it took fucking 2020 to actually challenge all of that, and that year basically wasn't allowed to even happen because of a global pandemic. Plus damn, 2016 took so many icons.

      I didn't say that I think it's all sorted out. I was just trying to point out and say that, sure, in hindsight, globally, 2016 wasn't as bad or awful of a year as the year 2020 was, but that still doesn't mean that 2016 was really "a great year" globally or changes the fact that it was still pretty crazy and terrible in its own right. It's basically comparing stinky shit (2020) to a less stinker piece of shit (2016), sure one's is less stinker than the other, but at the end of the day they're both still pieces of shit. Sorry for the gross analogy lol.

      I mean..., for me personally..., so far the year 2023 has been the most "normal" year so far in the early 2020's and in this decade and I know that *really* isn't saying much at all lol... The global pandemic has finally settled down quite a bit to the point where we are able to travel places and go to huge events without having to bring masks with us (I still do wear a mask most of the time whenever I go out even though I'm not required to anymore...) and global inflation seems to have sort of settled down as well.
      I'm just really anxious and nervous how the year 2024 will be seeing that the 2024 election will be the focal point of that year and given how the past two election years have played out, there’s definitely a pattern of presidential election years always being the craziest years and a bunch of bizarre and odd stuff happening worldwide and a whole whirlwind of unpredictable randomness happening worldwide, so much so that you could practically say that “the sky is falling” and it feels like the whole world is coming to an end. For example, looking back at both the 2016 and 2020 presidential election years… : *shudders* *in* *pure* *horror* *and* *trauma* :

      Brexit, terrorist attacks, the attempted coup in turkey, the Zika virus outbreak/epidemic, killer clowns, the death of Harambe incident that became a huge meme and made national news, Black Lives Matter protests, and all of the Hillary vs. Trump election drama. 2016 was quite memorable. Tbf, it took fucking 2020 to actually challenge all of that, and that year basically wasn't allowed to even happen because of a global pandemic. Plus damn, 2016 took so many icons.

    Happy New Year J-Pie - I think someone should start a Kickstarter campaign to send you on holiday somewhere nice and warm so you don't have a breakdown in January.

      Because they somehow make the left wing politicians declare half the country they are trying to get control of as "deplorable"?
      I think you missed the point of a fair number of Pie's videos
      The left is so used to winning they don't even consider the right
      now the centre is considered right because the left has gone so FAR left that EVERYTHING IS RIGHT

      And what, if anything, about the way the people so described have acted both before and after the election suggests that moniker isn't perfectly valid?
      Maybe it was a poor strategy to openly voice it, but they sure as fuck weren't wrong in the assessment.

      ***** No you don't have to arrest all refugees and I never said that you did, I was pointing out basicly that an over simplified answer to a retarded statement achieves nothing.
      In all honesty there is something that could be done to alleviate the "Migrant" problem even with so many.
      Simply act hard to disrupt and relocate the ever growing ghettos that allow young Muslims to grow in isolation from western values - where hate preachers can tell them the country they live in is the problem and they don't see enough native people to see that the preachers claims are clearly false.
      If you are forcing so many into the countries then you must force them to integrate with western societal norms, allowing any area to even approach 1 in 3 migrants to natives in an area allows groups to form where they practice the same hard, backwards shit that they where just fleeing from.
      If we are to allow such levels of migration we cannot continue to allow Islamists to run roughshod over our courts and laws because of fear of "Islamaphobia"

    I really don't know why people are so shocked and horrified when famous people die. Have they been elevated to such a place in peoples minds that celebreties are in some way not effected by the natural cycle of life that is part of the lives of mere mortals?
    Being saddened by the passing of people whose creativity changed our lives in some way, were influential, inspirational and made things seem better is completely understandable. But being shocked and horrified that death has visited the house of a famous person is just plain insane.
