All your videos are incredibly accurate reproductions of the originals. Love them all. Also your warm personality shines in each one, adding something above and beyond. Thanks for all your post!
Dear sir, I cannot express my feelings of adulation and awe enough. you are by far the most talented of all the cover artists on UA-cam. That is in no way taking away from the joy I see in anyone who enjoys covering the most beautiful pop/rock music the world has ever known. I am just as thrilled to watch you as I am a lonely spinster welled up in a darkened corner playing #9 on a jaw harp. Whatever it takes to keep the spirit of their timeless music alive in the hearts of those who cherish the love for their music as do many do. Many cover for fun, some cover more seriously. A few, as yourself, won't settle for anything but perfection. God only knows how many of us there are who sit belonely playing...quietly imagining what the thrill must've been like. I often wonder if Paul and Ringo have ever taken a moment to reflect on the history they created from the eyes of us, their faithful flock of Beatles peatles. I have no doubt you'd be complimented by same if the word got thru. I'm not referring to only this, but the lot of your Beatles covers...all exceptional covers in the highest regard. I would very miluch like to pm, if only once. I'm nowhere as good as you to any degree, but this song explicitly, the string ensemble...please, where did you locate the score, and if it was from maticulously picking it out by ear, would you care to share it in any way. I noticed you put up the various vocals to Because, so I feel you have a willingness to share of some sort. I'm curious, as well as you've done these many tunes, are there any that you weren't able to do as well as you would've hoped? I'd love to see what you could do with Penny Lane, or the Abbey Road medley. thank you again for sharing your talent
In the case of the vocals, Paul did a second take (used for the line at the end of the first "middle 8"). The vocal doubling occurs because his first vocal was playing back over the speaker when he recorded the second one. (Part of the problem was that Paul sang that first vocal while playing the guitar part at the same time. Even if they muted the first vocal track, it still had been picked up by the guitar mic, so there was no way to completely mute it.)
It's been over a year. I think it's definitely time to do more. Seriously this is incredible you have taken the time to put in every detail you noticed. Please do more. Any song is fine but if you're taking requests I'd really like to hear strawberry fields
You are correct about the octave. I had transcribed the parts myself, however, I had also referred in part to a photograph of George Martin's handwritten score. Checking it now, I see that the original score has it in the higher octave (I guess that's where I got it from). The original score had also indicated that high A in the last verse to be played as a harmonic--another idea that got changed when they actually recorded the song. Grr--The moral of the story: always trust your ears...
Another BEAUTIFUL job. You are so talented. Only wish you the beary best always. I understand why you shared the video now and I know the stars are shining from above on you. Can't wait to see more videos. Keep up the awesome music.
Thanks for the great work on the Beatles tunes, Andrew. You have a rare combination of top-notch skills in music performance and video production. Keep posting!
Andrew, we really enjoy everything you put into your performances. The amount of work is tremendous, and it shows. Please don't wait so long before putting up others.
I'm familiar with the recording you're referring to, however George didn't end up playing on the track. Any apparent guitar doubling would most likely be attributed to the fact that the guitar (and vocal) had been played through a speaker for the strings to follow when they overdubbed their part (as well as for the second vocal take on the line at the end of the first "middle 8").
aahh. I stand corrected. If you listen to the many studio takes, one can hear a doubled effect on the guitar. I did not know it was played through a speaker for the strings. You learn something new every day!
Way to go, Andrew! Always love your work. I'd love to have a chord chart for this song. You have some funky chords in there that sound just like the record.
So that speaker gave that extra doubling of the vocals. It's not really noticeable on your version but on the original it is really out there. Great cover. Keep 'em coming.
You're missing the second guitar in there. Its hard to hear on the recording but there is a 2nd guitar doubling in there. On the studio sessions you can hear Paul giving George directions on how to play it, instructing him to play an F instead of a G.
You also sound like Paul McCartney. Are you sure you're not the guy who was supposed to have replaced Paul? ("An incredible simulation", to wit.) Anyway, great job!
+Karim Fares Thanks. A number of factors had forced me to put my video projects on hold. I'm happy to say that I have many more on the way. As a matter of fact, I will be putting out a new one in about one week, and plan on releasing videos on a regular basis.
Andrew, did your friend that's playing all the string parts in this video play each individual part exactly or close to how they're played on the original recording? I mean, did he transcribe the parts himself? I think the violin notes (F, C, B♭, A) that are played around the 0:55 mark (when you sing the "day" syllable) are played an octave lower on the original recording.
To say I'm impressed is to fall very short :D You've got a new fan here :) Do you by any chance have the score of strings? I have tried to find them on the internet with no luck. Even in the "The Beatles complete scores" book, the strings score looks incomplete... I would be very very grateful if you hand me one :)
only the master does it better. I applaud your absolute insistence on doing it the only way it should be done. I'm going to guess that if there are any Beatles songs you cannot perfect, you won't allow them to be shown. I duly honor the perfectionist. Once again, only Paul could do it better. And yet you have one over him...uh huh...you didn't think I'd take note...Paul didn't play his own backup...so... (and still...knowing the respect you have for 'the boys' music, I'm quite certain you're much too humble to take that credit). if I were to lose all my beatles albums, I think I'd get by just fine with your renditions.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Although I do play all the instruments in most of my videos, I needed the help of a friend for the string parts in this one (I don't play violin, viola or cello).
you are most welcome. I have the utmost respect for anyone who tackles the songs with such truism. Granted to anyone who wants to simply have fun playing their songs. but you are a breed apart. I also enjoy sitting for hours articulating any number of their songs. there aren't that many who take note for note...vocal style..to task. I salute them all. Although I enjoy the sound alike bands, I get nothing from the 'look'. Anyone can dress the part. I say..get a bunch of fat guys who really know the juice...put them behind a curtain...have them play their hearts out till the crowd can't take anymore...then lift the curtain. To play...to learn note for note is such a wonderful feeling. And I'm sure you'll agree, that no matter how accurately it's played, it can never ever be equaled. No one will ever perfectly re-paint the Mona Lisa. But even if we could, we're still humbled by the wonderful fact that 'they wrote' the stuff. ...lol...it'll be a cold day when I find Paul covering one of my ballads...you get that point? I'm very sorry my comments are so long...I'm 64 now and have been playing since February 9, 1964. my voice is going...just when the technology has made doing this quite easy. I still play...but the dream is rapidly fleeting.
All your videos are incredibly accurate reproductions of the originals. Love them all. Also your warm personality shines in each one, adding something above and beyond. Thanks for all your post!
goteverlastinglife Thanks so much!
Dude this whole series is AWESOME.
Nakelp86 Thanks!

I am working on a video (and a separate harmony breakdown video) of "Nowhere Man".
I believe in tomorrow! Give us more of this. You're doing a hell of a job.

I just love your voice, it's hypnotizing
You just reminded me how much I love The Beatles. Such beautiful, powerful songs. Your version of Because is absolutely beautiful.
Excellent job my friend. I loved it very much.

Beautiful.

Another great video.. Love you my friend.
Nice job overall. What struck me was Chris Camarata playing 1st and 2nd violin, viola and cello. Very, very nice
spectacular man. Keep it up!

You're really a multitalented musician.
Excelent job !

Cool. Can't wait to see the breakdown on Nowhere Man.
Just beautiful.
amazing......

I hope you meet your match.
You look just like Macca, and the production is spot on!
aahh. I stand corrected. If you listen to the many studio takes, one can hear a doubled effect on the guitar. I did not know it was played through a speaker for the strings. You learn something new every day!

Really, really good !
Awesome job, mate !
Very nice, Andrew.
Terrific! You really do well with Beatles songs, by covering them almost to perfection, but also adding your own personality to it. Excellent cover.
GREAT COVER
JUST AWESOME!!!
Make another video of the beatles (bulldog would be good)
So that speaker gave that extra doubling of the vocals. It's not really noticeable on your version but on the original it is really out there. Great cover. Keep 'em coming.
Another gem.
dude your awesome and haha you remind me of gale from breaking bad

Very nice. :)
Please, do more!
Very nice. I'd give you a 10, but you missed the last note when you were humming... :( Otherwise - outstanding!
Dan Chicorel Thanks. All the notes are there as far as I can tell...
There’s a reason that this song is the most recorded song of all time.
GOOD!"
You also sound like Paul McCartney.
Are you sure you're not the guy who was supposed to have replaced Paul? ("An incredible simulation", to wit.)
Anyway, great job!
amazing!!! please make a vid of yes it is!!! greetings from argentina! :)
your covers are amazing! though , this one is three years old ..so why did you stop making videos?
+Karim Fares Thanks. A number of factors had forced me to put my video projects on hold. I'm happy to say that I have many more on the way. As a matter of fact, I will be putting out a new one in about one week, and plan on releasing videos on a regular basis.

Fantastic! New subscriber here =)

You should do beautiful night by Paul McCartney
Damn I wish I could sing as well as you
Read the description, and I know its late, but stay strong dude!

amigo eres un genio tocas de todo pero porfa haste un cover de revolution porfavorr te lo dicen desde peru :)
when will it be ready? (:

Joni Oden, Very well-put. I appreciate your comments.
I love it! Mr Lub too ! You are awesome!

I thought he looks like Paul McCartney.
Since you introduced the string ensemble to the mix could you do Eleanor Rigby?

or strawberry fields?
Can you do a cover of Junk by Paul McCartney?
Is thia mismag?
