  • Guido Basso (flugelhorn) plays with Ed Bickert, Don Thompson, and Terry Clarke in 1992 at a "Sound of Jazz" concert in Toronto. Bickert's solo starts around 3:21, though he plays great stuff throughout. Note: It's possible the date or personnel are wrong, as Terry Clarke lived in New York from 1985 to 1999, and Bickert was more often working with bassists Steve Wallace and Neil Swainson in the late-1980s and the 1990s. But it's also possible the old gang got together again in 1992 for a show in Toronto.
Bickert / Thompson / Clarke were a regular trio in the 1970s and the early 1980s, though Thompson began playing more piano and less bass in the mid-1980s. Along with Guido Basso, Bickert, Thompson and Clarke were all members of Rob McConnell's Boss Brass big band for many years.

This is definitely Terry Clarke. I have played with him for many years - this is him! I am John Sherwood. Call him up and ask him! Gosh it is soooo nice to hear Ed! And I saw Guido yesterday and he is still the man!
