      Would be nice to see one focus on turning the 35xx+ into a more streamlined set top box that also happens to be a handheld. maybe a dedicated console more that has the controller profiles saved into it that you can turn on or off to reduce the amount of configuration needed.

    • @dhr54
      @dhr54  5 місяців тому +1

      Do not unpair the controller as the 35xx Plus/H doesn't have the ability to forget the controller once paired (as of the last update I tested). If you wanna use it and it's been paired with something else after you paired it the first time well then you'll have to force the 35xx plus/H to forget it by redoing the update, reflashing your main memory card.
      Keep in mind there is a new update, a couple days old which may have added issues I haven't been able to test. But I hope to be able to look at it today sometime incase anything changed.
      -Update the firmware on dual sense.
      -Update the firmware on the RG35xxH
      -reflash the system and attempt to pair the dual sense controller according to the current guide again.
      Hopefully nothing new has changed. I'll be looking for significant differences today and I'll respond again with my findings.

      Psp and DS both technically have different emulators and doesn't use the same settings as the rest that use RA. I never even thought of that, separate steps would be necessary to map the controller, I haven't played around with that part and don't know if it's even possible.

      @dhr54  2 місяці тому

      I'll be updating mine unit to check for any changes ASAP but Anbernic has unfortunately made this kind of confusing. Just to make sure you have the "Plus" and not the "+". You see if your device says "rg35xx+" on the back sticker it's actually the enhanced version of the normal 35xx (most listings call it the 35xx 20224) and doesn't do the Bluetooth and wifi.
      If your device says "35xx plus" you have the device in the video and the menus should reflect the video unless the settings have changed the names of the menus.
      The 35xx 2024 having a + on the name on the sticker is a huge mistake I feel, as it has caused people to mistake the two similar devices.
      Alternatively, maybe it's possible to have installed the normal 35xx 2024 firmware by mistake and that's why the network settings are gone? I believe it uses the same chipsets now so it may be possible but I haven't checked it

    • @dhr54
      @dhr54  6 місяців тому

      I have used a dongle and my ps4 controller appears to function as a wired controller when plugged in through the dongle.
      If you already have the equipment this may be a decent option, but I would be worried about compatibility. I advise against seeking out expensive hardware or cables just to hardwire controllers to this one specific device.

    I was playing the PS1 Castlevania game & it let me use the d-pad & the analog without changing anything.

    • @Literal32
      @Literal32 Місяць тому +2

      Something could have been updated in the most recent patches that changed this however Castlevania doesn't have analog support. So what you're likely experiencing is the analog to digital mode.
      If you check in quick menu/controls/port 1 controls/analog to digital type, this option makes the left or right analog stick perform as the D-pad as a convenience option for people, this isn't actually using the Analog mode that I'm showing how to enable in the video. For games with legit analog controls, like final fantasy 8, medal of honor and Ape escape you may still need to enable the analog option, depending on the version of the firmware.

    • @dhr54
      @dhr54  Місяць тому +1

      Actual PS1 controllers on actual PS1 hardware will not make use of the analog sticks unless you press a toggle button on the controller, that's why what there is an option to turn on the analog mode with the button combination.
      On real hardware it can't just be turned on all the time because the games that have no analog support will then not recognize the controller when the analog mode is on. It's possible they have some advantage on the emulator but initially you had to manually enable the sticks, last update I checked you still had to do this to use the real analog mode in games.

      you're sure you have used network settings on your device before? The regular RG35xx and newer RG35xx 2024 models don't have network features, also confusingly seems to be called RG35xx+ on the label, the one with wifi would say RG35xx Plus and have a battery door on the back.
      I've never seen Instability to cause features to go missing on the firmware. If all else fails I guess reflash the firmware to the newest update and start testing from there.

      Oh yeah that's it for sure, 28xx doesn't have BT or Wifi. The SP definitely will. The firmware has had a bit of an update the biggest difference being that I don't think you will have to do the "all users control menu" fix on the latest updates.

      @dhr54  5 днів тому

      Yeah unfortunately I have had no luck with Xbox controllers. For a short period of time I was able to make them connect but on the most recent updates they don't seem to connect properly. All you can do is reflash the firmware to erase the controller profile and attempt to pair it again and hope it works. It's not a great option.
      Instead I would recommend grabbing a Data Frog or other cheap brand of Bluetooth controller and use it dedicated on the 35xx plus. Seeing as how you can't erase controller profiles, it's best to leave one controller dedicated to the system, otherwise you have to reflash the firmware if you want to repair the controller with the 35xx again.

      The original RG35xx and the rg35xx (2024) don't have wifi or Bluetooth. If your menu doesn't have it, sorry to say you have on of those. Beige bezels around the screen, no battery hatch and the name "rg35xx+" on the back sticker and you have purchased the rg35xx (2024). It's possible Anbernic did this on purpose but at the time of this video that confusion wasn't a thing.
      If by some chance you do have black bezels, a battery hatch and the name "rg35xx plus" (again not the +) on the back, somehow you are still missing the network settings, that's a completely new problem. I guess start by updating the OS and make sure you're grabbing the right one just in case there is some way to switch them ?

You need to flick through the PPSSPP menu which is different. By default one of the triggers is to switch between stick and D-pad, that may hold true for the psp emulator and using a Bluetooth. If you are, your controllers have been paired before or at least partially started the pairing process and never completed. You cannot pair the controller twice due to an oversight in the software.

    I have that data frog ps4 i paired successfully but when i tryed to play again wireless controller shows up in the scan, but it doesn't pair again, what should be the problem?

    • @dhr54
      @dhr54  5 місяців тому

      If you unpair your controller with your 35xx+/H due to an oversight in the operating system you cannot pair the controller a second time. To make your system forget the controller and reenable your ability to use that controller you must redo the SD card. flash it again and restore it to default and it will be able to pair again. Try not to use your controller on any other devices to avoid the issue.
      If you did not use the controller on a different device and it simply wouldn't connect when you tried to turn on the controller, this would be a new issue to me. Try updating to the most recent firmware and hopefully it's not something wrong with the RG or your controller.

    I’m so frustrated. Now all my controls are messed up when I go back to using it as a handheld and nothing I try reverts it to stock. I just want the handheld to go back to how it was when I received it but there is not reset to factory option. Beyond annoying

    • @dhr54
      @dhr54  5 місяців тому

      Sorry to hear this, I dunno what happened for you but the best factory reset you can do is flashing your memory card to any of the latest official updates. It will make it just like new again.
      Make sure you save any important data before you do it, search for Anbernic rg35xx+ firmware (or H if you have it instead) and use a flashing program to set that memory card back to stock with all the latest updates. If you haven't already done this it's a good idea to increase game and controller compatibility anyways.

      It can be overwhelming but once you have all the steps memorized it literally takes 2 minutes to implement. Plus once you do it, you shouldn't need to repeat the full steps, instead just being able to turn on your controller to have it automatically connect. You still may need to toggle it back and forth in Retroarch if you decide to play it handheld again.

      @dhr54  3 місяці тому +1

      Hmmmm. I haven't seen that yet, but l have had some strange issues pairing some controllers that have simply vanished when I reflashed the OS memory card. I always start there. Somebody on discord mentioned you could manually add controller profiles to Retroarch in some fashion but I'm not sure if it's even something you can do it on Anbernic's OS.
      It may be easier to just use a different controller depending on your situation as the settings tend to get reset with every firmware update or if the wind blows to hard and the 35xx happens to have a tough day 😅🤪

      Wrong device?
      People have been buying the rg35xx (2024) and the rg28xx thinking they may have Bluetooth.
      The rg35xx got a 2024 update that gave it a more powerful chip but no wifi or Bluetooth. This is marketed as the rg35xx 2024 but confusingly says 35xx+ with the +symbol on the back label of the device. The actual rg35xx "plus" with Bluetooth doesn't use the plus symbol on the back.
      At the time of making this video it was easier to type out rg35xx+ but now it's possible it would be confusing if you don't look close enough at the listings you shop on, or buy it second hand, or especially on sites that like to make it confusing like Ali express etc.
      Again When this video was made there was no overlap between the 35xx+ and the 35xxplus, both ways meant the plus model, dumb of anbernic decision to make it harder to tell the regular 35xx apart.
      So. What's it say on the back of your machine?

I did find where it did say Bluetooth, but I guess that they never added a core to it so it can't be used, but thank you for responding. Keep in mind there is a new update, a couple days old which may have added issues I haven't been able to test. But if I can hazard a guess.... I would always start with the basics.
      -Update the firmware on dual sense.
      -Update the firmware on the RG35xxH
      -Attempt to pair the dual sense controller according to the current guide. Hopefully nothing new has changed. I'll be looking for significant differences today.
      -Do not unpair the controller as the 35xx Plus/H doesn't have the ability to forget the controller once paired. If you wanna use it and it's been paired with something else after you paired it once you have to force the 35xx plus/H to forget it by redoing the update, reflashing your main memory card.

      Well apologies but the Dualsense controller is acting very weird with the latest firmware. For me I'm getting mixed inputs, dropped inputs, multiple inputs. Overall unusable. @@strutter789so I tested the dualsense on the latest update and it's still messed up. PS4 controller and 3rd party ps4 controller both work, although they need to be set up in the inputs and then they work properly. So my guide continues to work.
      Switch pro controller and 3rd party switch controllers seem to work but their analog sensitivity on the joysticks is really low, if you turn up the sensitivity they then work fine, but if the game requires fine movements this may be difficult to dial in the appropriate amount of scaling to the analog settings.
      Xbox series controllers continue to act poorly, with phantom inputs and freezing the system when it connects do not recommend.
      I don't have any 8bitdo controllers to test unfortunately so that's my whole update. I will have to make a new updated video soon. Now I've had time to test it. Lots of small improvements to the OS but still some of the same issues persist. Frustrating.

      I haven't had a chance to test the most recent patch what version are you using? I had issues like that when I was running the first or second patch but not the more recent ones. You made sure to enable multiple users for menu control as per the first step? And you added deeplay-keys or its equivalent (if they ever change the name) on port 5? That makes sure you always have a port assigned to the buttons on the unit.

      I've never had an issue with the controllers reconnecting to the unit, this may be a new issue? But the issue I do know about was that it is currently impossible for the 35xx+/h to recognize the same controller if it was disconnected from the 35xx+/h and paired with something else. You cannot make the system forget the original pairing from the system menu. It is Unfortunate but the only way to rectify this appears to be reflashing the OS using the update files Anbernic provide on their website.
      I recommend using one controller exclusively with the unit so this issue is avoided.
