The making of this video…also awesome. You see the creative process from the beginning, not just the finished great song. All songs are great. I love seeing Freddie’s voice in all its stages too.
Oh man, it blows my mind a little bit that you started with Queen II. I discovered that beast on CD when I was 17, slightly before streaming. I grew up with mainly the first two Greatest Hits and Freddie’s Tribute Concert on VHS and DVD. I was born in ’85. Their first 4-5 albums are MY greatest hits but there are great stuff till the very end.
This was fun, yes, but the "One Vision Documentary" is a damn scream of hilarity! You get to see everyone working and working things out together. It's just SO much entertainment. Gotta love Queen! Oh, and while you on the "One Vision" kick, might as well watch the 1986 Live Wembley Concert's "One Vision." (The whole concert is magnificent!) Great reaction!!!
I remember loving this song as a kid, when it first played on the radio. Back then I knew nothing about AC/DC, and today I cannot say I'm a fan of that band, but I can definitely hear the similarities.
Love Queen, I also never go a day without listening to Queen. Love their later albums, Innuendo and Made In Heaven. I know none of those songs were performed live, but…live is best in most of their songs. I do love this video, but it was performed live at Wembley in. 1986, I think, Freddie’s last tour. There are over 200 songs in their discography, and there are lots of “Queenies” like myself watch Queen reactions as much as we can find them. RIP Freddie. The VOICE! And Brian, that guitar! And Roger, those drums! Vocals extraordinary all around. Yes, John, quiet…love that base. Sigh.
John's bass is wonderful, yes. You are a rare Queenie who loves _Innuendo_ and _Made in Heaven_ ! I love those two albums. Many people will roll their eyes, but I listen to Track 13 everyday to meditate by. It's just exquisite. Had to say hi!
Hey fellow Queenie... just wanted to let you know there are several remix channels on UTube that take extra care and talent in comprising various renditions of several songs never played live from videos of their previous concerts... Arquest, Vinza etc. are wonderful at what they do, my favorite is "The Show Must Go On" by VINZA.... blessings.
That spooky noise at the beginning is a mixing of Freddy saying God works in mysterious ways. If you watch the documentary, which you should, it's a lot of fun and very informative.
This song kicks so much ass. This album was a great return to form for Queen, with many great rockers, the general lack of the abysmal keyboards that they'd started using after the great "The Game" album, and Freddy Mercury providing his first new Queen co-writing and composition (Princes of the Universe... a GREAT heavy rocker) in years. You should watch the "Making of ... " this video as well. It's hilarious and fascinating to see them at work in the studio creating this song!
I second the suggestion to watch the 'making of One Vision' video. Just keep in mind that the boys were all on their best behaviour, hyper-aware that they were being recorded for posterity... 😉
Dragon Attack at Milton Keynes live. 😊 I guarantee you'll be blown away. One vision was a homage to MLK, and it was really John Deacon's song at the beginning, Freddie changed it up a lot.
Check out their live shows from 1974 (Rainbow) and/or 1975 (Odeon) for some of your Queen II favorites. Also, check out “Stone Cold Crazy” (Rainbow). “Bicycle Race” is on their 1978 album, Jazz. Thanks!
I’d love to hear you play some Tommy Bolin. Tommy was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and began playing in bands before the age of 13. He was a guitar prodigy! He dropped out of school at age 14 with his parent’s blessing to pursue his dream. Tommy moved to Boulder, Colorado in his late teens. He played in bands, among others, Zephyr, Energy, The James Gang (After Joe Walsh. He recorded two albums with The James Gang: Bang in 1973 and Miami in 1974; Except for one song on Bang, Bolin wrote or co-wrote EVERY song on these two albums. Not bad for the “new guy” in the band! “Standing In the Rain” is an awesome song he wrote for the album Bang. Then he was offered to replace Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple.), Deep Purple (After Ritchie Blackmore, and personally chosen by David Coverdale.) He released 2 solo albums, and did many studio sessions for other artists. He played many of the guitar solos for MOXXY’S debut album when their guitarist walked out of studio before finishing the album. He also played on Jazz Fusion Artist and prolific drummer, Billy Cobham’s album Spectrum with Jan Hammer on keyboards. He did all of this and more before his death at age 25 on December 4, 1976. He accomplished more by age 25 than most musicians do in a lifetime! Heck, today, most kids haven’t left their mom and dad’s house by age 25! 😂 His song “Post Toastee” is a masterpiece and was on his last solo album, Private Eyes, released shortly before his death in 1976. Saxophone legend, David Sanborn, who just recently passed away, is featured on this song. Give the “Boy from Boulder” some love. “Post Toastee” - Tommy Bolin ua-cam.com/video/wHchQD-VAys/v-deo.htmlsi=byDuB_463SQgy9Y5

Ah, Breakthru!! You’ll love it too.

Hard NOT to love queen!

@@Gillie51-bl8su Oh yeah lol... only Freddie had the "I don't give a fuck" mentality and was drinking wine all throughout lol!
What a GREAT reaction, THANK YOU!!
…I can’t go a day without my “Freddie Fix”.
(My favorite Queen album(s): Innuendo and Made In Heaven)
