- Aptly named after Columbia, South Carolina's FOURTH (yes fourth) most acclaimed waiter, the Caroline Shigeharu dishes out a hefty dose of fuzz with some sweet extra features on the side.
Shelby talks with Caroline Guitar Company founder Phillipe Herndon about the ins and outs of this seriously potent fuzz creation know as the Shigeharu!

This is what I want from a pedal demo like this. Explaining how it works and what makes it different and set apart. I love when you guys bring in reps/designers from companies like this. It shows community in the gear world and really helps us. Thanks!
*turns on octave*
*still plays in first position*
*i yell at phone*
Same...
yee, what a bummer.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Brodie Enrique instablaster ;)
Probably your most Epic demo Shelby! That Fuzz sounds Killer!
Man! That sounds fantastic man. A very well thought out fuzz. A little of everything and a whole lot of amazingness. Part of a fuzztritious breakfast.
I'm not into fuzz so much, but that thing sounds so amazing. It stays tight and clear at full roar. I just may have to get one.
Thanks! That's the objective. Check out the teaser trailer where we recorded with it in a band context.
Niiiiiiiiiice Bodysnatchers
Shout out to John from Electronic Audio Experiments for killing it with this one
John was an excellent co-conspirator on this one. He's great.
The end does he said "Basta"? It is the best moment Ive had so much this year.
Dig the intro tone, and of course the song!
But the Japanese on the pedal doesn't say "Shigeharu" (シゲハル), it says "Colombia" (コロンビア)...
Love Caroline pedals, though!
A year late, but Columbia, SC is the city where Shigeharu's family's restaurant is located
the deathstare thunderstruck outro was neat. what a nice pedal
Sounds great
love the ending
Mine just arrived from CME today! It's everything I had hoped it would be. Caroline knocked it out of the park with this one!
How much do they go for? No info on the site..
you still diggin' it? I'm about to pull the trigger...most fuzzes don't have enough tonal control for me and i like the versatility to go vintage to more modern...yes i dream of a SunFace but i'm not throwing down 500$+
This pedal sounds sick!
I FUCKING LOOOOOOOOOOVE the story behind every caroline gear hahahahhaha
Octave pedal and he doesn't play past the 12th fret! Nooooooo
SUBSCRIBE & TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS TO NEVER MISS A GEAR DEMO!
Caroline Guitar Company still has to make something I DON'T want. This sounds great!
Oh god the foozz. I need this pedal
It sounds like a mix of all the cool fuzzes. Is there a bass demo?
Besides the octave, is there any difference in the fuzz circuit between this and the original Olympia?
Phillipe is just cool as hell
Thank you. I appreciate it. We get to do cool things for our customers.
Killer FUZZ!!
Sounds good, but I feel like it was on the bridge pickup the whole time. Good to switch it up
Rafi kirder rock on bro! Thanks for helping us keep the question alive.....Where is Andrew???
HOLY FUZZ
whoever that guy in the black is, he explains the pedals features so well. like a electrical engineer.
Nathan Kimble great comment!! I have dropped that same line on many of their vids! Great crew and great store... But we got no closure with Andrew...guys at CME where is Andrew? Nathanmaybe you can help me get this question out to all their vids!
Yeah I hope everything is fine!
Why are the highs and mids cranked on a Pro Reverb? It hurts
woah.. the ending...
no doubt this is a killer pedal but when u use a Super Reverb please get the volume at least on 4, Supers does not sound good on low volume.. not really a bedroom amp.
Radiohead- Bodysnatchers yeah!
Javier Molina kinda...not played accurately
what song was that in the intro?????
Bodysnatchers by Radiohead
grungie!
- Lets see the demo, maybe I want to buy it.
- He opens with Radiohead. (throws money at the screen)
god I miss Shelby the best demo guy they had
that video reminded me how I miss Andrew, so much! please bring him back, when the CB Brothers Demo is due.
How does it sound on bass?
I think it's the best sounding fuzz for bass (without a clean blend) I've ever played with. With the right tweaking of the tone and body knobs, you can retain a lot of the low end that you'd lose with any other fuzz. I've been running my Thunderbird through it, and it sounds absolutely massive, yet clear.
Sawyer Hildebrandt I really want to see how the octave plays with it too, cuz having the Rufus reloaded is cool but its fuzz doesn't sustain as much as I want and the jump in volume when fuzz is full is just too much
where is andrew!?!?!
nathan kimble he's not here.
he passed.
He passed? Hope you're just kidding
maybe he passed on this interview
This boy is dressed like a carrot.
Shelby without a Jazzmaster? :-o
First 2 settings sound like Husker Du.
Oh damn the waiter thing is real.
twitter.com/servershige
Yep - he's also on Instagram as @colashige
Am I the only one who is a sucker for meaty fuzz?
THUN DA
But does it Bass?
Bodysnatchers fuuuuck yes
This Dude explains better than Brian W.
コロンビアƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
7:18.....holy crap.
Just give me a muff an I'm happy. This one is to much work.
Clean up?? ...not really eh..
thanks god radiohead doesn't sound like this. good pedal though.
The guitarist is almost as annoying as the reverb curly headed dude. Let me play 3 open chords to let you hear how this pedal sounds, fucking genius.
lurkerr cool dude!!!
TheSpearsProductions I think you are cooler.
lurkerr this is a weird comment.
I wanted to like this. It sounds like ass. The demo was really horrible, though. Bodysnatchers is played with a cranked overdrive, not a fuzz, but I'd even overlook that if it sounded good as a fuzz.
Alex Breyer thanks for the input!
Fuzz into a 40 watt blackface Fender is not really ideal either. Too much headroom.
everyone's an expert...
