I've been looking to get into photography and was thinking about getting this camera and this just popped into my recommendations. This is incredible, great job!! Subbed, and looking forward to seeing what else you make!
this is so good, im considering getting an a6100 but cant decide if I really want it because of the cinematic color profiles, but this is kinda encouraging me because the colors look so good in this
Great cinematography and composition and color. I was impressed by your video. Do you have any plans to produce a video about DaVinci Resolve color grading? I'm curious what plugin you used.
Hey, as 6100 doesn't have any picture profile. Did you shoot in default or created a picture profile. I stumbled one of videos where it explained you can lower the saturation, exposure to create a picture profile ? I am really confuse between 6100L and ZV-E10 ( This has great video abilities ) but lack evf. As I will be doing much photography. But will also improve myself in video front
I shot this whole film with the default video settings in camera. After exporting each video and creating the film in post, I color graded the footage to give it the look it has. I did all this within the DaVinci Resolve video editing software.
This is amazing, I've been doing some photography for a while with an old camera and this video has really made me want to start film making. I was thinking of investing in an Sony A6400 and after seeing this I think I will.
@@MarshAustin Don't be too hard on yourself. Photography/film is all about your unique perspective. Keep exploring, learning, and capturing moments with your camera. I mainly just play around with my ideas and inspiration. When I go out to film, I think about how many angles or ways I could film a certain object/scene. You may find some cool arbitrary compositions. Another thing I do is take my random footage that I have shot and use it to practice color grading on. You will find your unique style.
Yes, this was all shot with the 16-50mm Sony kit lens that come with the camera. As long as you’re intentional about what your filming in terms of lighting conditions, you will be able to balance your histogram and get clean footage and unclipped highlights/ shadows every time. This will give you a clean base for the color grading process.
Hi! Really great cinematic! I do have kind of a weird question, I understand you used a DJI gimbal for this video, what was your experience in terms of Airport Security and your gimbal? Curious as I myself will be travelling for the first time with a Zhiyun Gimbal in the summer.
Hi, not a weird question at all. I stressed about the same situation while taking my gimbal through security. The airport checks the gimbal as an electronic, so I’d just place it in a tray. I haven’t run into any problems and have been able to bring it onto the plane many times.
Bought a A6100 for a really good deal over the A6400 alsmost €300 difference for me so easy choice from me, and because of this short movie, really amazing edit
Thank you! All I did was set the shutter speed to 1/50 since I was shooting at 4k 24fps in camera then set the white balance. No, I didn’t use a mist filer. The footage was shot right out of camera then graded in Davinci Resolve.
Since I shot the footage during morning and in the day, I set the white balance to 5600k. Thanks, I’ll have to consider that idea. For the future, the white balance may vary depending on the lighting and where your shooting. The more you practice the more you will become familiar with different white balances.
Personally, I love the versatility between16-50mm the kit lens provides. What I've learned from shooting a bunch with it is, no matter the lens, the key factor to dialing in the image is lighting.
So I'm looking to get into videography and photography and I'm quite shocked because prices for cameras are insanely high and my budget very low. First I thought the Fuji X-T30 might be the one to go for, but the price is still very high for me and now I see this... This video shows me that you can get insanely good quality from a camera that's not super highly priced and if you can edit well like you do, it looks even better. Great video, very very good and nice job to convince me to safe my money for a Sony a6100 :)
This was really nice and makes me want to get back over to Canada ASAP 😄 Genuine question - How many batteries did the camera eat for this day of shooting? Also, for those low walking shots/ video in general, did you have the camera mounted on a gimbal, and if yes, which?
damn this is outstanding!!!!! And this is on the a6100 and not a6400 fr? I thought that 6100 didn't had the picuture profile setting. You got the complete effect from colour grading alone?
Considering the specs and price point, this camera is amazing for both photography and videography. After using it for around 2 years, I found it to be very beginner friendly on shoots and in post. The only major limitation that I found this camera had was when it came to color grading in post. It shoots 8bit footage which is more susceptible to breaking when color grading but I wouldn’t consider this to be a major draw back since most of the time is was very minimal breakage which was barely noticeable. Now, I say all this from my own experience so I’d recommend you look into it and see if it suits the type or of photography/videography you are wanting to do.
In some extreme cases, I could have benefited from IBIS a bit. I own a gimbal but find myself shooting handheld or a tripod over using the gimbal. So far, I just stabilized in post. I've had no issues and great results as long as I hold the camera relatively still. Overall, IBIS would not be a make-or-break feature for me.
