My god, Connor did a better review of The Batman than Garnt and Joey. This is the true Dark Timeline. Also, the Trash Taste plushies remind me of that scene from Castlevania when Alucard was talking to the dolls of Trevor and Sypha.
If anything it makes me think he just watched half of it, got bored, checked his phone once riddler was ou t of main picture, and then looked back thinking "is it over?"
it does some good things, mainly the cinematography and aesthetic, but there are a lot of issues with it. there were quite a few cringe and nonsensical moments that really brought it down for me.
Someone explain to Joey that all Batmans wore eyeliner but as soon as they took off the mask it magically disappeared. The eyes while underneath the mask would look dumb without the eyeliner. It's more convenient that the eyeliner stays on so that way he doesn't need to put it on and off every time he takes off the mask. It's not about being emo in this case, the rest of the movie, sure
I don't even get why that's a problem at all lol it makes more sense to show that but it doesn't detract from the film. Robert pattinson is a really solid batman but there is a lot more to be desired with him as Bruce Wayne. But I have a feeling why Bruce wasn't shown as much is because its meant to be a part of a trilogy and he will grow a lot more as a person later on.
Was thinking the same thing, everything they “didn’t like” about the movie was kinda the whole point of the movie. Batman is supposed to be weird and I agree I wanted to see more Bruce Wayne but the point was just to show the Batman but hey to each their own yk!
@@spiderjey999 i think it may just be due to the comparison. Nolan's batman did have many layers to him, even in batman begins, and while the batman was also great in the characterization, it's much more plot driven narrative hence it NEEDS to be more linear compared to Nolan trilogy as a whole which made so much emphasis on growth, thematics and philosophies of the code of conduct of this character. And tbf I've seen a lot of people say riddler and selina were more interesting so it may just also be because he felt overshadowed by them.
lmao yeah, m on connor's side on this one, The Batman was really good, its a lot more artsy than a marvel movie. Also i appreciate the eye-liner, because all batmen used eyeliner but they didnt show it to make batman look slick. Robert Pattinson's batman is the most realisic so they show all the realities in his world. Also BATMAN IS EMO AF, the christian bale batman is an adaptation not the legit character.
@@dhruv9744 comic movies adaptation always follow one of two rules either one to one representation of character or changing it to something a bit more realistic. I think RPs batman was a good mix of both his dark and lamenting nature from comics exist but his depressed and coming to terms with his actions side is something comic books don't have much. Batman in comics is more egotistical and cares less what effects his actions have. Best example would be how he doesn't kill.
@@Histerdcap i agree, RPs version of Batman is just a closer adaptation to other versions of Batman adapted outside the comics. The world and setting were designed to have verisimilitude, not be jarring in contrast to Batman. I think the movie is genuinely top 3 this year.
Fine takes imo, though my opinion is kinda in between theirs. It was too long and boring at certain points and batman as a character wasn't that interesting. Still a decent movie though. I'd probably give it like a 6.5 max a 7.
I think Garnt and Joey missed the point of Batman's character completely. It was pretty interesting to see him deal with the fact that his vigilante justice ended up inspiring criminal acts and that his parents weren't as innocent as he once thought.

I agree with Garnt on the dishwasher thing. In the UK, where I'm from in England it was considered really bougie if you went round to a friend's house and their parents had a dishwasher. Nobody I knew/who was friends with had one growing up and we all relied on a washing-up bowl, dishsoap and sponge and that was it. However, if someone's parents did have a dishwasher, there would be small gossip about how rich they must be. I am the same age as Garnt, so perhaps that may be why I agree. I can imagine it's different now though, sign of the times, eh?
Yeah I'm from the UK and all my life (I'm 18) we never had a dishwasher or saw anyone with one but over a year ago we bought one and it's been so useful
I'm from South Africa and its a similar vibe here. Def the defining divide between middle class and working class was a dishwasher...but could be different now, as I'm not a kid anymore and don't get to hang out and various people's houses
I think, as Connor hinted, there's a rural/urban thing as well - rural residents don't tend to be rich, but because land is cheaper in rural areas, houses (and kitchens) tend to be bigger as well. If space is at a premium, you would sacrifice the dishwasher - but the cost of a dishwasher itself is probably minor compared to the cost of a house overall (if you are buying one or having it built, anyway), and if you have the room, I guess why not? At least in rural Ireland (I'm mid-20's), dishwashers were pretty standard.
Yea this was one of those episodes where I (mostly) agreed with Connor the most. The only thing I found weird was he loved the Boys S3 but hates Don’t Look Up. I think both of those series are equally on the nose as far being very on the nose satire.

For Everything Everywhere all at once, highly recommend looking up the production of it. They had to do some crazy production techniques and styles to produce the film during the pandemic while working on a relatively small budget and a very small team. It really made Multiverse as Madnesss look bad since the directors/producers of EEAAO accomplished a great feat with not even as many resources as Marvel. Just for numbers, $200 million budget for Multiverse of Madness and EEAAO had $25 million. Definitely, Multiverse of Madness made a crap ton more money, but EEAAO accomplished something tasteful and enjoyable while still making profit as an independent film Edit: adding more details
I watch Trash Taste while doing my chores. So today I got the “chores-with-attitude” experience of having The Boys doing laundry, washing dishes and vacuuming all together. Garnt, your success it’s so cause you guys are so relatable. P.S. Set an alarm on your phone coinciding with the laundry machine’s one. Cause I have the same issue and that’s what I do.
The eyeliner detail in Patterson's Batman was something I actually really liked. Once I saw it mid-movie I mentally went back and realised that in basically every other Batman movie they're wearing eyeliner under the cowl (because skin-coloured eyelids while wearing a black cowl will stick out like a sore thumb) so the fact that in The Batman they didn't do what every other movie has done and just pretend that it comes off easily with the cowl gave me a better impression that the new movie would be solid on the small details.
adhd hack: ask someone to remind you of something and then you will magically remember it by yourself. istg it genuinely works like every time I do laundry I ask my partner to remind me to put my clothes in the dryer in an hour or take them out of the dryer later and every. single. time. I just remember it on my own and then he forgets to remind me anyway so it works out lmfao
No you flipped it. Now he's he's a dumb detective who gets outsmarted by every villain. He has to brute force things because he's a strong dumb sad man.
Batman has always been a detective along with his vigilante role. That’s how he’s able to get into the minds of the villain and try to solve their crimes before things escalate; however, there were times he didn’t make it or the people he loved would get seriously hurt or die. Like in The Batman, I appreciated that they showed Batman’s failures and weaknesses because that’s how he’s relatable in the comics. He didn’t always win and the villain would go back to jail or the asylum, and they’d manage to get out somehow. Anyhow, this new film was excellent! It wasn’t perfect, but they added unique elements that made it feel very close to the comics, and I really loved that! 💜✨
the only problem with dishwashers is that, it needs a lot of plates to be cost effective and even if you filled it up, the leftover food is gonna get dried up and become harder to clean. The best way to use a dishwasher is to, rinse off the leftover food then use the dishwasher
I mean when top gun maverick came out I was really hoping for someone like Calli to interview Tom Cruise (like how Laplus interviewed Robert Pattinson for Batman)

Same. It is also the reason I think that I could never pick up cooking. Too much boring prep work followed by horrific clean-up. It is a shame because it is the only way to have control over your diet - but man is it just horrible (from my perspective) from start to end.
It's nice to finally see someone else talk about Everything Everwhere All at Once. It's an excellent movie that I saw about a week after it came out with a friend of mine, but I've never actually come across anyone else who has seen it too. It was probably one of the weirdest things I've ever watched, but it was so well executed that I got genuinely invested in the world and its characters despite how bizarre everything was.
Something the boys don't realize is that ALL batman's use eyeliner 😂 they just remove it for the mask off scenes. Btw I feel like it grounds him more in reality, but that's just my opinion :)
while Tom Cruise definitely deserves props for doing as many of his own stunts as possible, lets also acknowledge that the cameraman for the halo jump also had to do the halo jump, backwards, waiting for tom cruise while operating the camera.
Connor this time actually has great takes on films. Batman was dope, Thor was dogshit, Top gun was just really solid, Everything everywhere all at once was refreshing and The matrix was hot shit.
Yea I don’t know what Joey meant by the Nolan films being more subtle in exploring Batman’s eccentricities, like they barely touch on it, which is ironic considering that the Nolan movies wanted to be as grounded as possible yet they never really considered the logistics of some guy running around beating people dressed up as a Bat

As someone who works at McD’s in the US, there’s two things I gotta say: 1. The Orea McFlurry is considerably more popular than the M&M McFlurry or other limited flavors, but some limited ones I like more. 2. The whole ice cream machine not working is not so much the machines are always faulty but rather it’s a terrible contract between Taylor and McD that screws over franchise hard owners hard at the benefit of McD corporate and Taylor.
On the topic of laundry... tumble dryers actually allow clothes to be less crinkly. If you fold them right after the dryer is done (i.e. when the clothes are still warm), you usually don't need to iron anything except dress shirts. Also, fabric softener is terrible and you shouldn't use it. It destroys the fabric over time, builds additional residue in your washing machine and it can trigger allergies.
I wonder if Garnt will ever put 2 and 2 together and realize, his underwear’s probably getting worn out much more quickly *because* he’s washing them twice as often. Lol.
I think Joey getting pressed over Batman wearing eyeliner is the funniest thing ever because its literally the first live action film that had the actor keep the eye makeup on when taking off the mask haha. I wonder if Joey would say the same thing if Christian Bale had the emo makeup on when he unmasked
43:40 Garnt saying Oreo McFlurry is the worst McFlurry has to be the worst take I've heard from him. Am I the only one who thought that statement was blasphemous lol
Robert Pattinson's Batman is what Batman is in the comics. Like Connor said, he's a fucked up psychopath and freak who can't bear losing his family and the shit around him are very fucked up. I agree that it was a little too emo and a little too on the nose but the whole atmosphere that Reeves was actually going for is perfect. To me, and don't get me wrong I love The Dark Knight, but it felt a little too cookie cutter for a fucking deep movie. The point of Batman not having a lot of lines was to make him more mysterious. At times, having too much dialogue can make the movie a little too boring and straight to the point. The Batman is a MYSTERY THRILLER. Not a action movie.
@@SavantGardeEX Tbh, I thought the eyeliner was a very grounded and realistic detail. Kind of like the bale trilogy because if you think about it, without the eye liner it would kind of off because you would see the skin

As someone who lives in Singapore (we're right next to Malaysia) let me clarify this; most people here actually speak English primarily. Like English is the common language that we all speak no matter if you're chinese, malay, indian whatever. If you're born in Malaysia or Singapore you speak english. And especially for Chinese families, odds are we're also cussing each other out in English rather than Chinese. Only if you're of the really old like Pioneer generation (i.e. as of 2022 you're hitting around 70) then you likely don't speak English, but otherwise yeah most mothers here will cuss their kids out in English. So crazy rich asians didn't feel out of place for us.
Hershey's uses curdled milk, not less cocoa or milk or whatever. It's partially curdled milk, using a technique to make it last longer and stay 'safe' to eat. The curdled milk is the reason for the fart stank taste. After the war it was an 'acquired taste' and Hershey's was supplying large quantities of chocolate for rock bottom prices, so the brand which had gained strength during the war retain that strength after the war due to the low price and ready availability. Funnily enough that gross fart taste is because the same chemical that gives poop its gross smell is in Hershey's chocolate.

I find Don't Look Up interesting. When I tried changing asteroid to our current pandemic, I find it quite accurate. Yes, many parts were too dumb, but if they didn't go to that length it might became a documentary instead of fiction. I just imagine the writers had their script done, but when pandemic hit, the writers had emergency meeting saying "Guys. The real world was more dumb than our script. We need to make our characters dumber!"
Top Gun and The Batman are the only movies I'd give a 9/10 they were both so good. Batman wears the black liner to hid his face better, but to be fair the boys don't look like their into Batman anything much.
18:45 the routine thing is most relatable to me. Because of a mixture of ADHD and autism, my entire life is driven by either what I do because i like, or what i do because i already do it every day at the exact time. I don't do the exact same chores every day. Anything outside of this is routine quickly gets frustrating.
On the movies with languages and accents/ etc... That sends me back to when I was 15 or 16 and my English teacher had us watch The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and at one point she made a comment about "Why are they speaking with British accents when they're supposed to be German?" and I was internally enraged cuz the characters were German, so why were they speaking English at all if we're using that logic?! Never let that one go XD
On the use of language in crazy rich Asians, in a Malaysian Chinese family (similar to Singaporean Chinese) it very much depends on the family background and class - English usage is more common than you think. All Asian cultures aren’t the same, especially very mixed cultures with lots of languages like Malaysia and Singapore!
@@Mellow_Yellow13 This is taken with context being in mind, most marvel films are above average films (pre -endgame) so anytime there is anything "mid" it sticks out. Marvel should have high standards cause they are the biggest superhero movie production after all.
That whole cable vs streaming argument are the worst takes I’ve heard from them. Cable is easier to cancel than streaming services? In what world? Most of them are easily canceled in your account settings and are month to month if you want to stop. And Garnts argument where you can cancel all in one go is better is bs. It’s worse because if there was something you wanted to keep, you don’t have that option with a cable bundle.
I was hoping Joey would bring up TT Visual Novel and talk about it, but I guess it wasn't the case. Then again, no idea if this episode was recorded before or after he played it.
Hershey’s chocolate isn’t war time rations. The flavor Europeans think is weird is a byproduct of the chocolate making processes. To make sweetened condensed milk for the chocolate, milk and sugar are boiled on low heat in a vacuum chamber. The oxygen free environment allows the milk to ferment slightly.
frankly as a teen i forgot to take out the laundry so many times that for a time i wasnt allowed to do laundry basically what im saying is relatable adhd problems and like yes i can have seven timers and an alarm and technically the machine do make a sound ive tried variety of things, like picking a thing to do thats neared to the machine then my room or the kitchen, or like. sitting there. with a container on the floor looking at my phone for the two hours it sometimes can take depending on the program...
There's a good Adam Ragusea video on why Hershey's chocolate tastes like vomit. In short, the milk is soured in the manufacturing. The distinctive taste is caused by the fermentation process that results in "Butyric Acid", an acid that is produced in our stomachs.

Don't know why you're surprised, Garnt and Joey have horrible takes on pretty much anything that isn't anime it seems lol.
Joey's take on The Batman is just unforgivable
If anything it makes me think he just watched half of it, got bored, checked his phone once riddler was ou t of main picture, and then looked back thinking "is it over?"
Well, they're trashtaste afterall lol.
@@justalostlocal yeah you are right. Indeed they are😂😭
it does some good things, mainly the cinematography and aesthetic, but there are a lot of issues with it. there were quite a few cringe and nonsensical moments that really brought it down for me.
special the eye shadow stuff like people kept asking for that from the old films.
They should've just to making the eyeliner disappear after the unmasking, so edgy 💀💀💀.
Was thinking the same thing, everything they “didn’t like” about the movie was kinda the whole point of the movie. Batman is supposed to be weird and I agree I wanted to see more Bruce Wayne but the point was just to show the Batman but hey to each their own yk!
@@spiderjey999 Kaneki pfp checks out 💀💀💀
@@spiderjey999 i think it may just be due to the comparison.
Their takes on The Batman were absolutely horrendous 😭 how do you miss that hard 💀
lmao yeah, m on connor's side on this one, The Batman was really good, its a lot more artsy than a marvel movie.

Definitely, Multiverse of Madness made a crap ton more money, but EEAAO accomplished something tasteful and enjoyable while still making profit as an independent film
Edit: adding more details

I just remember it on my own and then he forgets to remind me anyway so it works out lmfao
Conner started off with such odd tastes but has grown to be the most relatable person on the podcast.
There clearly was a timeline shift
What made Batman great was that in the newest one he is actully smart. Hes a detective. Not a dumb brute getting outplayed by every villain.
Any time they talk about movie takes it really brings it back to earth and grounds them, they really have trash taste.

As someone who works at McD’s in the US, there’s two things I gotta say:
Honestly relate with Garnt on the laundry part, but instead of forgetting the wet clothes for 8 hours, I tend to forget it for like 1-2 days lol
I wonder if Garnt will ever put 2 and 2 together and realize, his underwear’s probably getting worn out much more quickly *because* he’s washing them twice as often. Lol.
Did you guys forget the link for the plushies or am I just blind?

I was hoping Joey would bring up TT Visual Novel and talk about it, but I guess it wasn't the case. Then again, no idea if this episode was recorded before or after he played it.
probably before
@@controlcon In a hindsight, I should've realized that, since Connor is currently busy with his cyclotlon.
Connor's batman take was god tier.
Hershey’s chocolate isn’t war time rations. The flavor Europeans think is weird is a byproduct of the chocolate making processes. To make sweetened condensed milk for the chocolate, milk and sugar are boiled on low heat in a vacuum chamber. The oxygen free environment allows the milk to ferment slightly.
oh my god joey and garnt's take on The Batman is making me lose braincells LMAO
Hence why I skipped it once I heard Joey said Batman only had 6 lines of dialogue
1:00:24 is the most cap statement of all time the character has so much growth in the movie it's insane. Video is very true to the title lol

ive tried variety of things, like picking a thing to do thats neared to the machine then my room or the kitchen, or like. sitting there. with a container on the floor looking at my phone for the two hours it sometimes can take depending on the program...
There's a good Adam Ragusea video on why Hershey's chocolate tastes like vomit. In short, the milk is soured in the manufacturing. The distinctive taste is caused by the fermentation process that results in "Butyric Acid", an acid that is produced in our stomachs.
Someone please tell Joey that every batman has the eyeliner lol. How do they think Batman's eyes are black when he wears the costume?
