First off… you were 1 when the first Scream came out?! 🤯wow, makes me feel old. I was 10. And when that very first Scream movie dropped in theaters, that was a moment to experience. All great Scream movies but the first Scream is by far the best. My LEAST? 😒 Scream 5. Because they killed Dewey!!! 😩😩😩😩😩 he was my favorite character of the whole Franchise. He had more heart than all of them… except Sydney.
I’d say besides Billy and Stu, Jill is my next favorite Ghostface. She’s so sadistic and cold, didn’t even care her mom died during her scheme. She’s just such a black hole of empathy that’s she legitimately scary. Her motive is also so ahead of it’s time, you see real life people chasing influence in the same way she did. Struck gold with that one
Mickey is my favorite Ghostface in the franchise, his and Jill's motives are my favorites. Killing to get famous because they're simply evil. I don't understand why people say he's a Stu knockoff when he was peer pressured into killing while Mickey was a killer on the rise. Just my opinion but I think it's valid
Scream (1996) my favorite childhood memories. Scream 2 (1997) was insane. Scream 3 (2000) was awesome. Scream 4 (2011) was badass. Scream 5 (2022) was sad. Scream 6 (2023) my favorite one.
Ranking from best to worst for me is 1, 2, 6, 5, 3 and 4. There is a reason scream movies stopped for a decade after 4, it was not good. Was a lazy plot that just played it safe the whole time. Very boring film of the franchise for me, but everyone has their own opinions and movies are subjective.
Scream 6's opening is so close to being personally ranked as number 1. For a short while, we were seeing the killer's point of view. I could image Revolori as ghostface for the entirety of the film based on his entrance from the alley, into the public, and his hospitable conversation with Tara. It would be fascinating to watch a Scream film where the killer is revealed at the start to witness their seamless transitions from a foe to a friend. This could be refuted by rewatching the film while knowing who the killers are, but experiencing the structure of their motivations along side each murder as sopposed to revealing the foundation and killers in the end, is a game changer imo. I still love a good mystery.
I like this idea! Like let’s say their last scream movie could end with that twist … I’d totally be down for that or the idea that Billy’s daughter could turn into a Killer too
Not gonna lie, my favourite is probably scream 6. It’s so unique compared to the rest and also, the ghostface’s are probably the most savage of them all
Jill Roberts was so ahead of her time, the whole movie actually is, Robbie even commented on it. "Everybody will be doing it someday," and now there are vloggers documenting their life-style and becoming famous. Jill wanting to use trauma to become famous was such an iconic move. I really liked the Scream 6 killers, however like you said due to the... I don't wanna spoil it, but due to their connection, they kinda get lost in the shuffle. I also feel like [redacted, the girl.] died way too quickly and should've gotten the [redacted] final scare that [the boy] got considering something she said about Stu..
@@issi529 I was just about to say the same thing! She was ANNOYING, even before the reveal lol. Having these women killers are just not believable to me. The things that Ghostface does a lot of times, when he’s targeting men in particular, the killers does things that are just physically unbelievable I believe. #JillWasTheWorst #FollowedByAmber
@@darianlynch2687 Finally someone who understands my point. Female killers are just very unrealistic and especially on how they kill in the Scream films. They are not using guns or stealth kills but they just overpower victims with strength and in most of the times ghostface looks pretty big. So its more plausible to stick with a male killer rather than a female. Stupid feminism bullshit these times. By the way Jill was so small and skinny as fuck to be a serial masked murderer..🤣🤣🤣
When Roman revealed himself I thought his anger towards Sidney was good but it was such a random storyline. Talking of Roman I never noticed before but did yesterday when rewatching 5. The scene when Tara is in the hospital watching Dawson's creek Roman is in that Dawson's creek clip. Also the leaving the ghostface masks in 6 reminded me a little of 3, Roman leaving the pictures at the scenes. And also Sam smoking in 6 was like when Gale started smoking in 2.
Personally I think that Scream VI had the best ghostfaces until they were revealed. I think Ethan was so obvious and I think the motive could’ve been a bit better. At least it’s kind of a nod to Scream 2 I guess. Even saying that, it is my favourite Scream sequel with Scream 4 a close third.
My personal ranking is probably 1,6,5,4,2,3, I’m 17 so I might be biased to the new movies but I loved Scream 6 and I’m gonna see it again. 6 and 1 are almost tied for me because they are both so unique but I don’t think you can beat the original
Roman is so underated as a Ghostface! Not only was he the only single killer, the guy literally started it all - he was the one who put Billy and Stu up to it! He's the daddy 😂
@@yarelikuiri225 same! Stu will always be my favorite he's just a real sociopath in it to have some fun idk if that speaks to my inner demons but I love that the most always 😂
I’m a day late but Richie is my 4th favourite Ghostface just behind mickey (who’s 3rd) but they could switch. Also Richie and Mickey keep switching places alot for me so for now Richie is my 4th favourite Ghostface.
Jill is my favorite Ghostface, periodt. Funny thing is, if only Jill had waited a little bit longer, she wouldn't have to go on a killing spree at all: she'd find her fame and "glory" as an instagram influencer 😂
I actually hate that they killed Cotton in Scream 3. I mean, he was framed and wrongfully accused and sent to jail. He got out and got famous and rich after he saved Sidney only for him and his girlfriend to get killed. Cotton deserved better.
Scream 2 is still my favourite. The sequence of Gale and Dewey getting attacked in the media block is still my favourite part of the franchise. The finale was an epic smash too. ^^
Our rankings are close! I am so happy another fan loves Scream 4 so much. It has been my number two since it came out, and you're so right it was ahead of it's time. I wish more people appreciated it so we got a different type of trilogy.
Scream 4 was my #2 as well and I'm an OG fan.. I thought it was the best follow up to Scream. Now Scream 6 & 4 are both battling each other for my #2 lol
@@jasonhobbs1345 because it wasnt good compared to the first 3. It brought nothing new and was just kinda bleh with the motive and plot. If they killed Gale in it I would rank it higher than last place. The whole motive just screamed "whaaaaa! I want attention!" This new scream reboot trilogy is bringing new aspects to the franchise which is why they are doing better in box office.
All I'll add is that there IS an added layer to the motive in Scream 6. They're not just trying to get revenge for Ritchie's death, they're trying to clear his name as the killer by framing Sam for all the killings. That was not something on Mrs. Loomis' mind.
I’m only 14 so I didn’t grow up with the originals but the first scream is honestly almost perfect closely followed by 6 seeing scream 6 in theater I was terrified almost the whole time but the ending wasn’t my fav
I js wanna say scream 3 us so scarily underrated...ppl hate on it sm but I wld js like to point out that not only did Roman have a AMAZING reveal and motive he did it by himself had great kills and faked his own death...he's such a great gf and the movie itself is so funny and had a GREAT cast...it makes me so sad to see ppl that rate it so low but it's all opinions and I respect that
Scream 3 is one of the best bc Roman is the only one that did it by himself that’s super impressive also him starting the whole thing with telling billy how to start the mind games with Sidney and him and his motive were perfect what more could u ask for a serial killer brother u didn’t know u even had it’s awesome
I was literally about to post this. Roman's motive was way more personal than most of these killers and with both Roman and Jill being the only killers with🩸🩸 relation to Sidney, looking at their motives side by side just shows how bratty and entitled Jill's motive was. Jan Brady ass vibes (she literally, in the movie quotes "Sidney, Sidney, Sidney") whereas Roman (while one could argue that his motive was also, to an extent a bit entitled, he) actually has the door directly shut in his face by Maureen, while attempting to connect with his birth mother, which is a form of "maternal abandonment" this being the moment that kicked off the events that started this entire franchise. Even if that was due to last minute and terrible rewrites. It is as it is and Roman's motives remain on the more personal side rather than the whiny, lame and illogical motives of other's on this list.
1,3,6,4,2 and 5 The original set the stage for all of these amazing movies and many more. 3 is mainly for nostalgia I found the last fight between Roman and Sidney Prescott memorable and emotional. Also, the murder mystery aspect was fun but still scary enough to have me fearing for the characters. His manipulation and obsession are what set these movies off. It was just well done. Scream 6 was brutal and personal on a dark level. I was disappointed with the ending but from start to finish I was invested and concerned for the characters even though I'm not as fond of them compared to the original cast. I was hyped to hear the motive and it's filled with so many callbacks it's hard not to love. It was genuinely thrilling for me.
It's funny you said Scream 6 made you bump up Richie.. honestly I feel that way about the film as a whole.. Scream 6 made me appreciate 5 even more and increased its stock of liability for me. The character development of the core four really made Scream 5 better as a rewatch. We have the same rank but I moved 5 up over 2 now
Your video got an immediate like from me when you went on to defend Amber. Everything you said was spot on. I can’t believe how many people can’t believe a girl can stab an old drunk when he’s literally distracted by a phone call. Also, Amber needs more recognition. The fact that she killed an original trinity member instantly makes her iconic. And thank you, her performance was stellar. Like you said, remove her motive and she gives one of the best speeches in the Scream monologue catalog. The actress gives her all with the facials, the the inflection of her voice and how she interacts with Sidney is incredible. She also had a believable switch up when she thought she was in trouble to pretending to be a scared and manipulated teen to being a manipulative psychopath when she thinks the upper hand is hers again. I actually think she manipulated Richie’s obsession with the Stab franchise and convinced him to help her kill people to make his movie. I think she became obsessed with the idea by living in Stu’s old house and she just wanted to kill.
I think we could argue that Stu did it partly for Billy too. The subtext between them is super talked about these days, Kevin and Matthew have acknowledged it; and if Jill was the Billy of 4 and Randy was Stu, they parallel Billy and Stu with their manipulated love too. Just wanted to throw that out there!
All these Scream videos have been so good! I’m not ready for the hype to go away but I am looking forward to next Scream season when Scream 7 releases 🔥 thanks for all the work on the videos bruh
100% respect homie. I agree that 4 was ahead of it’s time, but I just know the sharks are gonna come out of the water for placing anything from 4 above 2 lmao
@@_the_rizzler Stu was just a pawn to him and he was listening to Roman by getting a partner to turn in just in case. Stu didn't even know Billy's whole motive. They just weren't on the same page
I’m not sure if it was anticipation for 5 and recency bias, but I thoroughly enjoyed 5 and was definitely not expecting to. Maybe I’m alone but I have 5 higher than most in the series so far. Also, thank you for being bold and not including 2 in the top 3.
I completely agree about 5. I likes 5 more than 6, even though it looks like I'm in the minority on that. I'm a big fan 2... I remember watching it when it came out and being shocked at the Mrs Loomis reveal
When it comes to the openings, from worst to best, it’s 3, 4, 5, 2, 6, and 1 While the opening to Scream 2 was good, I personally felt it went a bit too long, and at times I almost thought I was watching “Scary Movie” and not Scream. The opening of Scream 6 is so good, that I personally would say that it comes so close to the first movie
amber has also become one of my favorite ghostfaces. she was also pretty low in my list after scream 5 dropped, but the more i’ve rewatched that movie, the more i really enjoy her character. mikey madison is fantastic in act 3, and cmon amber basically did it all 🙌🏻
She really took the unhinged and chaotic energy that Matthew Lillard had in the first SCREAM movie and amplified it to like 1000. Her and Jill from SCREAM 4 are my favorites because of how much camp the serve
Scream 4 is the black sheep of the group. It looks…weird, and it’s in the middle of the OG saga and the Spyglass saga. Its just this weird anomaly that I can’t help but kinda love.
My personal Scream movie Ranking 1 6 4 5 2 3 I also believe that there isn’t a bad Scream movie. Until Scream 6 i never thought any Scream movie could beat Scream 4 as my favorite sequel but this new movie completely changed that. I hope Scream 7 is a success
Great work on these lists and breakdowns here! I can dig it. If I was forced to rank the films 🎥 in the SCREAM Franchise, my list would probably go a little something like this: 1. SCREAM (1996) 2. SCREAM 2 (1997) 3. SCREAM 4 (2011) 4. SCREAM V (2022) 5. SCREAM VI (2023) 6. SCREAM 3 (2000)
Great vid!! I appreciate the multiple lists and the thought put into this. One thing worth mentioning that gets confused a lot: Stu also killed Maureen, not just Billy. The line is, "We killed her exactly one year ago today", not I. Roman also confirms this when he's talking about mentoring Billy towards Maureen's murder in 3, "have a partner to sellout in case you get caught." Of course, it was Billy that Sidney saw leaving that night that she mistook for Cotton though.
Great video Chris! Here’s how I rank the killers: Starting off with only two I think are just meh characters and I would even rank Jason Carvey(the fake killer from the opening scene of Scream 6) above them. 12. Quinn Bailey. What a shallow personality did they give her. 11, Ethan Bailey. Same thing I said about Quinn goes for him. But he was the killer which was the least obvious(still very obvious!). Now for the 2 killers that I just find underwhelming for a bunch of reasons: 10. Detective Wayne Bailey: he was really obvious as the killer but I did liked him for some reason and he was ruthless. I just don’t like the writing of the character or the film. 9. Charlie Walker. Until Recently he was my least favourite because he is a lackey, but unlike the three I’ve already mentioned, at least he had a personality. And I really liked him before the reveal but after that he was a bit underwhelming… Now for the 4 characters I’m positive on but still have some minor problems with. 8. Amber Freeman. I liked her craziness and her kills but that’s all. 7. Ritchie Kirsch. I liked him as a character and as the main killer of Scream 5, but hated how obvious it was that he was the killer(the most obvious one in the franchise in my opinion). 6. Jill Roberts. I really liked the reveal and was mixed on her motives. She had a good plan but I hated how stupid they made her look by not making sure that Sidney is dead(can be blamed on Sidney’s plot armor but still!). I also think she is the most overrated Ghostface. 5. Roman Bridger. Now for the most underrated Ghostface and one of the better reveals. He’s got a great motive but I didn’t love the execution of the character and how minor his role was until the reveal. The voice gadget is a bit much for me. Now for the for that I actually really like: 4. Debbie Salt/Mrs Loomis. So underrated! Had a great reveal and a motive. I really liked her! 3. Mickey Altieri. I know I putted him way higher than most people’s lists and maybe it’s because I’m a big Timothy Olyphant fan, but I really like the idea of one of the killers just being a Psycho from the internet! 2. Stu Macher. As a 7 year old when I first watched Scream with my cool hot babysitter, I instantly loved the character and for about 23 years he was my favourite. Love how crazy he was! 1. Billy Loomis. I always thought he was just okay but as the years gone by I started to gradually like him little bit more until he claimed the first spot(he was my least favourite from the first four killers). Loved seeing him in the fifth and sixth films.
There actually is an added layer to the motive of the Kirsch family. They didn’t just want to kill Sam. They wanted to frame her for the killings of not just their murders, but Richie’s, too. They wanted to clear the good name of their son. Ethan says it best that you need to destroy their character and Bailey started the rumor that Sam masterminded the last murder spree and framed Richie. That was the goal.
Every scream has that moment when the reveal happens and the villains snap. Scream 6 had the weakest “snap” while also having the most unrealistic shared motive
Movies from best to good: 1. Scream 2 (Did everything what the original did but better imo) 2. Scream (Classic) 3. Scream 5 (Great legacy sequel) 4. Scream 4 (Way ahead of its time and has my favorite killer reveal, Jill) 5. Scream 3 (The funniest; Parker Posey is comedic gold, most entertaining entry, and has my favorite Sidney character arc) 6. Scream 6 (Almost perfect til the 3rd act with its plot holes, plot armor, and being a rehash of Scream 2) Openings from best to worst: 1. Scream (Scary and emotional) 2. Scream 6 (Great at subverting expectations and gave us one of the best Ghostface one liners at the end) 3. Scream 5 (A modern version of the original amazingly performed by Jenna Ortega) 4. Scream 2 (Being surrounded by many people yet still feeling helpless) 5. Scream 4 (The fake openings were better than the actual opening but we got some good Ghostface lines) 6. Scream 3 (Too generic and the voice changer tech felt cheap) Ghostface killers from best to worst 1. Jill 2. Billy 3. Mickey 4. Mrs. Loomis 5. Stu 6. Richie 7. Amber 8. Roman 9. Charlie 10. Detective Bailey 11. Ethan 12. Quinn 13. Jason 14. Greg Motives: 1. Jill (Being the new Sidney and fame) 2. Mrs. Loomis (Good old fashioned revenge) 3. Richie and Amber (Give Hollywood better ideas for potential Stab sequels) 4. Billy (Making a real life Scary Movie) 5. Mickey (Becoming famous with a trial by blaming the movies) 6. Stu (Peer pressure, in love with Billy, no motive) 7. Charlie (Wants to remake the original Woodsboro murders with actual footage) 8. Jason and Greg (Want to finish what Amber and Richie started) 9. Bailey, Quinn, Ethan (Revenge and ruin Sam’s reputation but not as well executed) 10. Roman (Jealous of Sidney getting the mom’s love and fame)
This is why I love the Scream movies so much !! So unique and just a hell of a good time !!! I’m never disappointed, yes there might be flaws, but I’m still always entertained !
My movie ranking is 1,2,6,4,5,3. My scream opening rankings would be 1,2,6,5,3,4. I’m so happy this franchise continues being consistent in quality and I’m sure a scream 7 will be on the way with the current success scream 6 is having at the box office. I still have to think about my ranking on the killers but Billy and Jill are tied for 1st place.
I think in order to make the motive stand out for the newest film would be to have the dysfunction in the Baily family be a part of the reveal. something like the brother resenting his brother for being the golden child and trying to prove to his father he can be just as good, and hints throughout the film just that and mentioning his brother Richie without revealing he is related. not sure about the sister but its a step.
Movies ranked: 1. Scream 2. Scre4m 3. Scream VI 4. 5cream 5. Scream 2 6. Scream 3 I love all of them though of course. I think this is the same as you Cris lol. Ghostface killers ranked: 1. Billy Loomis 2. Jill Roberts 3. Stu Macher 4. Mickey Altieri 5. Mrs. Loomis 6. Roman Bridger 7. Richie Kirsch 8. Charlie Walker 9. Amber Freeman 10. Detective Baily/Mr. Kirsch 11. Quinn Kirsch/Bailey 12. Ethan Kirsch/Landry 13. Jason Carvey 14. Greg (I think his last name was Brockner) Great video Cris! I really enjoyed it!
My ranking: 1. Scream (1996) scary, fast, unpredictable, self-aware, bloody, likable characters no horror had been like this before 2. Scream 2 mostly adopts the essence of the originals remains quick, bloody, scary and so on 3. Scream (2022) combination of paying tribute to the original and bringing the storyline on is awesone just as refreshing in legasequels as the original was in the entire horror genre 4. Scream 6 still powerful but by the final showdown the films begins to fall apart and the characters begin to become immortal 5. Smarter than the 6 but way less powerful 6. Scream 3 entertains but dumb leaves its meta line and the ending-trick is aay overused...
Scream 6 was so good up until the terrible third act. I view Scream 5 however as the perfect sequel. It was fun had good gory kills, and had a great opening that subverted expectations. I also loved Richie and Amber, I wish they had managed to escape or something so they could be the next killers in scream 6.
@@benhamilton3671 Worst killer reveal ever, never once was I even wondering who the killers are, or did I even care. Every person that was revealed I was like, oh him too? It was boring and lame. Quinn was an annoying terrible character. Ethan was boring and bland and barely had any lines of dialogue just like Quinn, and Bailey was boring too. As usual they always make the killer someoen we just met and not someone who we already met so there was nothing new done no risks taken, and over all the third act sucked
My top 3 are: 1. Scream (1997) 2. Scream 3 3. Scream 6 That might change after I see Scream 6 tonight though! If it ends up on my top 3 I’ll be right back to change it! *Edit Scream 4 has dropped down for me as a favourite in favour of 6 (but all of these movies are good though)
I know Mickey's motive doesn't seem that great, but Scream movies always provide commentary on society during the time they are made. I grew up with Scream 1, 2, and 3. There were a ton of teenagers who were committing murders and blaming the movies/video games. They would cite Scream specifically, so Mickey's motive was very realistic.
I think people take his monologue too literally. He's a guy version of Jill, in it for fame - it's not necessarily about the trial & blaming movies, they're means to an end.
@@melissam597 it was still speaking to the current commentary at the time which was whether movies and video games were causing violence. Whether Mickey was genuine about it or not. Someone at that time looking for fame would use that excuse. Just like during Jill’s time, social media was the avenue for “fame”.
THANK YOU!!! It’s so great to hear the EXACT words I use to describe Dewey’s death when people use the tired argument “a FiVe fOoT, 1o0 pOuNd GiRL cOuLdN’t LiFt HiM oFf ThE gRoUnD”. It also bumped Amber up on my list for killers with the simple line “it’s an honour”
So, I just have to say that nothing can top the original. The opening sequence, the charisma of ghost face, the visceral fear of the unknown, etc. Gotta say, VI really delivered. I wasn’t expecting this clean of an execution because Neve, our ultimate final girl, was absent. Praying she comes back full force for VII. With that, my list is as follows I VI II V IV III
6’s opening was different, but it felt like it was just missing something. It left me with something to be desired, much like scream 4’s opening. 4’s reveal and motive is still unmatched. I’m curious to know how many viewers were actually able to figure out it was Jill.
HOT TAKE: I honestly like 4 more than than the original and for now 5 and 6 are pretty close to it too. It may be that I am younger so I don't have that nostalgia. I recently binged watched the entire franchise and then watched scream 6 but the original didn't stand out to me like it did many others. I still think it's a really good movie, just don't have it as an all time favorite like many do.
Is Greg even a Ghostface? I was thinking about this, does he ever even don the mask? Jason is explaining how it felt to kill to Greg, implicating Greg doesn’t know what that feels like and has never attacked anyone yet.
one thing i think people of younger generation wont understand why OG scream was the best is because there was no real internet, cell phones, or social media like today so when you put yourself in that time watch the movie for the first time its just a 10/10
I actually agree totally with your Ghost Face ratings, this was actually my exact rating for each ghost face, and of course, my boy Billy Loomis was first! I really liked this video and how he revealed his thoughts, and how it explained the Scream Movies! Thanks :D
The most underrated scream is scream 4, the whole movie had me on edge. From the opening scene of the movie within a movie within a movie 🤯 The ghostface weren’t as graphic until you get to Jill’s mom who gets stabbed through the 🗣mail slot, absolutely devastating. The motive of Jill and Charlie and how it was carried out until the very end. I wish I could’ve seen it in theaters cause to hear the reaction of everyone when Jill hears that Sydney survived 🤭 They really leaned on the mystery without compromising basic human anatomy😬 Love Chad but come on now. Two gf tagging him with knives be fucking for real here. I literally laughed out loud when you named the bottom gf cause really 🤣
scream 6 was a lot like scream 2 when it comes to certain, obvious things, however i think it’s setup way better than scream 2 was, which is why i don’t mind how similar it was edit: i also think scream 6 was roger l jackson’s best outing as ghostface. “do you feel like an animal jason”. chills
I love that I have seen so many different rankings online and such little hate in this fandom I love that, here is mine 1. Scream 2. Scream 6 3. Scream 2 4. Scream 5 5. Scream 4 6. Scream 3 For me Scream 1 beats 6 due to the reveal at the end AND I love STU and Billy together
my ranking is probably 1: scream 1 2: scream 2 or 6 3: scream 2 or 6 4: scream 4 5: scream 5 5: scream 3 I personally don’t think there’s a bad scream movie though, love them all.
I was born in 1985, so the first Scream movie that I could actually watch in theaters was part 3, I can't really rank that one too low, and after finding out that Roman convinced Billy and stu to kill Maureen and go after Sidney, makes him one of the smartest, also I think there were 3 GF in part 2, at least in the opening restroom scene

Jill is one of the goats. How she almost got away with it, too, is so scary and memorable.
I agree! I think Jill was a phenomenal, psychotic Ghostface, and her motive was much more believable!
Jill's underrated IMO, there should be more Respect for Her in this Series!
For me, Jill it's even better than Stu. The most evil Ghostface to date.
I just want to mention that Stu looked surprised when Billy was revealing his true motives, and then still went with it
That is so true!! He looks stunned
Yes I remember I didn’t catch that till someone on UA-cam mentioned it, I had to go back and see it and yes he was surprised lol
@Shinobi Yes for real I always feel I notice something new lol
I think he was just mocking what he thought Sidney should be feeling
@3C Films
"Let's face it Sid your mother was no Sharon Stone!"
"ALWAYS had a thing for you Sid"
That synchronized knife clean with 11 and 10 was my favorite part of Scream VI.
That shit was so clean
It was smooth as heck, no fooling
that part was cool
My wife loved that part. In the theatre she was like nice

@@melindapyles 1 to 6 ranking is 1 to 6?
Mine too
Ranking from best to worst for me is 1, 2, 6, 5, 3 and 4.
Like let’s say their last scream movie could end with that twist … I’d totally be down for that or the idea that Billy’s daughter could turn into a Killer too
Kind of like the series You on Netflix
Not gonna lie, my favourite is probably scream 6. It’s so unique compared to the rest and also, the ghostface’s are probably the most savage of them all
Yo just got out of the theater and omfg that was low key terrifying it’s sooo goood

Jill Roberts was so ahead of her time, the whole movie actually is, Robbie even commented on it. Jill as ghostface was terrible.
Scream 1996 Still UNTOUCHABLE. It really was lightning in a bottle. Not just horror but name one Intro to ANY movie as ICONIC as this one. GOATED

Great list. Glad Scream 4 and Jill are getting the recognition they rightly deserve.
I agree
Jill is my favorite Ghostface, periodt. Funny thing is, if only Jill had waited a little bit longer, she wouldn't have to go on a killing spree at all: she'd find her fame and "glory" as an instagram influencer 😂

I actually hate that they killed Cotton in Scream 3. I mean, he was framed and wrongfully accused and sent to jail. He got out and got famous and rich after he saved Sidney only for him and his girlfriend to get killed. Cotton deserved better.
I love Scream 4 so much, so glad you ranked it so high!
Scream 2 is still my favourite. The sequence of Gale and Dewey getting attacked in the media block is still my favourite part of the franchise. The finale was an epic smash too. ^^
With Roman it’s not about his job or how much money he makes. It’s about having a family that loves him
Our rankings are close!

Meh. The 2nd fake out in scream 4 was not needed. The real opening with Marnie and Jenny could have used that extra 2 minutes.
I completely agree, Scream 4 exceeded my expectations
All I'll add is that there IS an added layer to the motive in Scream 6. They're not just trying to get revenge for Ritchie's death, they're trying to clear his name as the killer by framing Sam for all the killings. That was not something on Mrs. Loomis' mind.
I’m only 14 so I didn’t grow up with the originals but the first scream is honestly almost perfect closely followed by 6 seeing scream 6 in theater I was terrified almost the whole time but the ending wasn’t my fav

Hey Chris! Here's my film ranking:
1, 6, 2, 5, 3, & 4
Love all of them though.
Scream 3 is one of the best bc Roman is the only one that did it by himself that’s super impressive also him starting the whole thing with telling billy how to start the mind games with Sidney and him and his motive were perfect what more could u ask for a serial killer brother u didn’t know u even had it’s awesome
Yes for sure by far prob best motive! But the actual movie itself I’m like damn really? But yes Roman for sure was one of the best reveals
Roman still the best Ghostface 🔥
💯
ngl roman was pretty smart.
like he was the only solo ghostface, first ghostface that faked a death, got 2 kills in credits, and 7 kills.
1,3,6,4,2 and 5
The original set the stage for all of these amazing movies and many more.
Been waiting for this video ever since you said you'd do it in your spoiler review. Thank you for the great content as always Cris!
Scream 6 has the best opening scene because nobody would expect them to unmask in the opening!!😮
It's funny you said Scream 6 made you bump up Richie.. honestly I feel that way about the film as a whole.. Scream 6 made me appreciate 5 even more and increased its stock of liability for me. The character development of the core four really made Scream 5 better as a rewatch. We have the same rank but I moved 5 up over 2 now
Fair enough! Hope 7 can nail the landing

I’m always down for a late night video.. especially if it’s about ‘Scream’!

Great work on these lists and breakdowns here! I can dig it. If I was forced to rank the films 🎥 in the SCREAM Franchise, my list would probably go a little something like this:
1. SCREAM (1996)
2. SCREAM 2 (1997)
3. SCREAM 4 (2011)
4. SCREAM V (2022)
5. SCREAM VI (2023)
Here’s how I rank the killers:
Starting off with only two I think are just meh characters and I would even rank Jason Carvey(the fake killer from the opening scene of Scream 6) above them.
12. Quinn Bailey. What a shallow personality did they give her.
11, Ethan Bailey. Same thing I said about Quinn goes for him. But he was the killer which was the least obvious(still very obvious!).
Now for the 2 killers that I just find underwhelming for a bunch of reasons:
And I really liked him before the reveal but after that he was a bit underwhelming…
Now for the 4 characters I’m positive on but still have some minor problems with.
Now for the for that I actually really like:
Why did Sam never mention that her grandmother was also a killer? She only mentions Billy
Movies from best to good:
1. Scream 2 (Did everything what the original did but better imo)
2. Scream (Classic)
3. Scream 5 (Great legacy sequel)
4. Scream 4 (Way ahead of its time and has my favorite killer reveal, Jill)
5. Scream 3 (The funniest; Parker Posey is comedic gold, most entertaining entry, and has my favorite Sidney character arc)
6. Scream 6 (Almost perfect til the 3rd act with its plot holes, plot armor, and being a rehash of Scream 2)
Openings from best to worst:
1. Scream (Scary and emotional)
2. Scream 6 (Great at subverting expectations and gave us one of the best Ghostface one liners at the end)
3. Scream 5 (A modern version of the original amazingly performed by Jenna Ortega)
4. Scream 2 (Being surrounded by many people yet still feeling helpless)
5. Scream 4 (The fake openings were better than the actual opening but we got some good Ghostface lines)
6. Scream 3 (Too generic and the voice changer tech felt cheap)

Wow 3C Films I had the same list as you😂my favorite’s were the original scream and scream 4 since I grew up with it
I know Mickey's motive doesn't seem that great, but Scream movies always provide commentary on society during the time they are made.

So, I just have to say that nothing can top the original. The opening sequence, the charisma of ghost face, the visceral fear of the unknown, etc. Gotta say, VI really delivered. 6’s opening was different, but it felt like it was just missing something. It left me with something to be desired, much like scream 4’s opening.
4’s reveal and motive is still unmatched. I’m curious to know how many viewers were actually able to figure out it was Jill.
Agreed I think the shock value of 4 is great but for me, it gets worse on each rewatch.

Kill One Person!? 🤔
For Reals!?
1 - Scream
2 - Scream 2
3 - Scream 4
4 - Scream VI
5 - Scream (2022)
6 - Scream 3
Love every film in the franchise
one thing i think people of younger generation wont understand why OG scream was the best is because there was no real internet, cell phones, or social media like today so when you put yourself in that time watch the movie for the first time its just a 10/10
I'm turning 20 in a bit less than a month and I'm able to put myself in their shoes completely fine 🤷♂️. The og Scream is one of my favorite movies
how does that change my view of the movie at all...???
@@emmawatsonstarr Exactly. I feel like people who are older than 30 think we don't understand that our technology's newer 💀
From the opening scene of the movie within a movie within a movie 🤯
The ghostface weren’t as graphic until you get to Jill’s mom who gets stabbed through the 🗣mail slot, absolutely devastating.
The motive of Jill and Charlie and how it was carried out until the very end. I wish I could’ve seen it in theaters cause to hear the reaction of everyone when Jill hears that Sydney survived 🤭
They really leaned on the mystery without compromising basic human anatomy😬 Love Chad but come on now. Two gf tagging him with knives be fucking for real here.
I literally laughed out loud when you named the bottom gf cause really 🤣
YEAH scream 4 is so amazing
scream 6 was a lot like scream 2 when it comes to certain, obvious things, however i think it’s setup way better than scream 2 was, which is why i don’t mind how similar it was
edit: i also think scream 6 was roger l jackson’s best outing as ghostface.
“do you feel like an animal jason”. chills
Keep up the good content Chris👍🦧
I love that I have seen so many different rankings online and such little hate in this fandom I love that, here is mine
1. Scream
2. Scream 6
3. Scream 2
4. Scream 5
5. Scream 4
6. Scream 3
For me Scream 1 beats 6 due to the reveal at the end AND I love STU and Billy together
Hey Chris, what was some of Your favorite end credit songs from the Scream film?
Mine is still Bad Karma from Scream 4!
my ranking is probably
1: scream 1
2: scream 2 or 6
3: scream 2 or 6
4: scream 4
5: scream 5
5: scream 3
I personally don’t think there’s a bad scream movie though, love them all.
Scream 3 was the first one i saw in theaters too..its my favorite one
13. Greg
12. Jason
11. Nancy Loomis
10. Mickey Altieri
9. Ethan Landry/Kirsch
8. Quinn Bailey/Kirsch
7. Wayne Bailey/Kirsch
6. Billy Loomis
5. Richie Kirsch
4. Amber Freeman
3. Charlie Walker
2. Stu Macher
1. Jill Roberts
Great video and I agree on the movie rankings, but Stu has got to be the best ghostface in my opinion.
Love Stu! And I always enjoyed the reveal of Roman in scream 3
My personally ranking of the movies overall is
1. Sream 1996
2. Scream 2
3. Scream 2022
4. Scream 3 and 6
5. Scream 4
I feel like as a duo Amber and Richie win. They were just on the same page and didn't betray each other also seemed liked they cared for each other
