Hah! We in sunny, warm Southern California can't exercise outside. Very poor air quality because here in eastern Ventura County, next to LA County, we have been surrounded by wildfires. I have COPD, although I never smoked. Mother chain-smoked unfiltered roll-your-own cigarettes, in the house. I ALWAYS had upper respiratory symptoms & and thought it was normal for my lungs to burn & hurt with exertion. I grew up in Pasadena (on the "wrong side of the tracks"). The air quality was so poor, every day that we never saw the mountains. I was outside, running around with my friends, riding a bike anywhere I wanted/needed to go. After a bout of influenza B early in 2021, I developed post-viral syndrome. COPD & a few cardiac issues. My pulmonologist said issues definitely started in childhood & 6 weeks of flu was the last straw. So, if I go outside during this time of heavy air pollution, I wear an N95 mask. Keep up your exercise, Gary. This old lady thinks you look great. And your physician-wife will keep you in line (re: your health 😊).
If you don't visit the US for 4 years, no worries. We'll make it just fine. The majority of Americans voted for Trump/Vance, so if that doesn't tell you anything, guess you'll never figure it out. Keep up the good work, we can't always agree on everything, that would be boring.

I am a history buff, I have traveled the world to visit war cemeteries and understand more than the average person on the world political stage both now and in terms of history. I see exactly the same things occurring in your country that occurred in Germany. I have German ancestry as well and have heard the stories. It seems America has not learned from past mistakes.

A good many of us did not choose the lack of character that got elected. Many of us do have good sense and don't understand the mindset of those who voted for him and got us into this fix either. It's not how we want to be viewed by the rest of the world.
