Thanks! That was a wonderfully detailed video. Learned a lot, which I really need before I try my first batch!
Great information on using the microwave kiln. I never dreamed one could do raku this way!!! Thank you again!!!
Best part of your video was the fact that you called the raku "Western raku"! Obviously you know more than a lot of potters about the history of raku, and that's a plus apart for the rest. Thanks.
I looked up the temperature for regular oven 30 minutes to dry the pieces on Google and it said 190 Fahrenheit . I make miniatures would 325 hurt my pieces like shrink them or Crack them
If you're using fireable clay it won't hurt it but if the unfired clay is damp or could be damp you want to start out at 190F for 30 min and then go up to 325F.
Thank you so much ❤
Where is the color?
So glad I found this. Have wondered if I could fire clay in my microwave kiln.
Hi How about temperature for cooking glazes for 15 minutes?
Thanks
Cones or temperatures depend on the clay or glaze used. Sorry for the delay in replying to this, I didn't get a notification from UA-cam.
@@cherylfarrens7528 many thanks ❤
Nice step by step video. Thank you for sharing!
Hi have you used metal clays in this kiln as was told you could.
Yes I just recently started using PMC silver in my MWK. It works but is a very different firing schedule.
