- Join Richard on an epic farming adventure! First, we visit "John Dear Mick" to admire his beautifully restored vintage tractors, including the standout Blue Ford Dexter. Next, we take a trip to his farm for a nostalgic look at the iconic "PZ Hay Bob" - a staple for every farmer. Then, it’s off to FarmStar, the local dealership, to explore an impressive selection of new and used machinery, including the massive 17-tonne Case Quad Track that Richard gets to test out! Finally, the day wraps up with a visit to the legendary Joe Seels (@joeseels) at his working beef rearing farm in Doncaster. Great video again
Thank you Earle. It was a brilliant day out. It great to meet up with different farmers and see farming from a different angle.
@ got to say it’s something I would like to do , when I was in farming back in 80’s farmers seemed a lot more stand offish and didn’t want to show you round but now you all are a lot more friendly and willing to show how you work.
@ I think it’s the social media that helps. But I do know what you mean. As farmers in this changing would we have to take a different attitude and start to work together. London protests where a good example how working together can bring change hopefully. We need to encourage younger generations into farming. Even if they are not from a farming background and teach the skills. Thanks for your message
Glad you had time to call over. Hope to see you at YAMS.
@@TracyBonner-pd7bb Thank you very much Tracy and for the cuppa tea, it was spot on. We just need to get you and Mick over here to visit us when it’s convenient for you. You’re welcome anytime.
You caught me out, what an excellent outro, brilliant montage
Geoff
@@GeoffreyMoore-i9k thanks Geoff. I’ve been thinking of using that idea for a while. I’m glad you like it. 👍
Hello there mate hope you're well. UP THE FARMER'S 💯.🤙🦊
Hay-Up...... Davey Hope your well.
Evening Richard
Lovely collection of vintage tractors, JD MICK would win any concorst vintage show, a clean freak (in a very good way) hence his tractors and machinery are so clean, tidy and superbly maintained, standing the test of time, 18 year old drill looking like a 2024 model
With cattle you need galvanised I'd guess
That case is the size of an apartment lol red leather bachelor pad
Is it me, or are manufacturers designing kit for contractor's, so the drivers have no requirement to leave their seat, hydrolic tailgate, easy sheet covers, GPS easy steer, getting to the point the man's there to phone for a mechanic if it stops lol
So pleased you got to Joe's hopefully he'll return the visit to yours
Doesn't matter how long you've been doing your things it's great to see another perspective.
Makes for great content too
Just like the discussion way had over raised or on floor feeding. Seems to potentially have pros and cons to both.
I watch Karen Moynahan Only Farms, she's a perfect example for entry level farmer's, as a non farmer opinion at least
Thanks for distracting me
Loss adjuster/surveyor coming Friday and tree going Thurs
Take care all

Evening Geoff,
Thanks for the great comment! You’ve summed JD Mick up perfectly-his attention to detail is second to none, and it really shows in how well his machinery stands the test of time. That drill honestly could be mistaken for a brand-new model!
You're spot on about manufacturers designing kit more and more for contractors. It’s incredible how much automation is involved now-GPS steering, hydraulic everything-like you say, sometimes it feels like the driver’s just there to call the mechanic if something goes wrong! Definitely a different world from the days of manual everything.
Really enjoyed the visit to Joe’s, and hopefully, he’ll make it over here at some point. Always good to see how others do things, even when you’ve been at it for years. That’s what makes farming so interesting-there’s always something new to learn or a different way to look at things.
Glad the videos have been a bit of a distraction for you-sounds like you've got a busy week ahead with the surveyor and the tree removal. Hope it all goes smoothly!
Take care and thanks for watching,
Richard
