This is why your content is incredible. You are taking the time to tell us what’s going through your head inside that rocket ship. The amount of knowledge transfer on your channel is so invaluable to us old school NASCAR freaks.
Symmetrical bodies look soooo much better. The asymmetric body takes the “stock” out of stock cars. We all know that underneath they’ve been tube chassis race cars in the modern era but at least through the 80’s and early nineties there was diametrical sheet metal panels that were pretty damn close to stock templates. We have all heard Mitchell talk about how much he loves the Luminas. Really should have gotten a Lumina body to run vintage. Fantastic build never the less and amazing work. Been watching the channel since right before he moved to the Dallas area so it great to see how much hard work he has put into pushing the passion for everything NASCAR
The chassis that comes under the lumina era body is not as good as the mid 2000s chassis. Other option would be to rebody my car as a Lumina which is a ton of time and expense. I wanted a 2002 Monte Carlo until I did some research on the capability of the chassis usually found under those things. You’d have to move stuff around to get it good.
Lee is a good guy, my buddy used to race late models in the 80's with him! He will help you with the feeling of the car.Much respect to him, wanting to help you.
Lee Faulk is a Legend ! Watched him race here at New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speed World years ago before I started racing , when I did start , David Rodgers was my go to guy . AJ's input and praising you on your first time out was impressive ! You'll get it dialed in and seat time is priceless ! Car looks and sounds awesome bud ! And some new sticker shoes will make a world of difference ! You'll feel like Superman with em on it hahaha .
thanks man. I will do my testing on used tires so I am not spoiled by being used to new ones lol. Plus new tires are only new for a few laps. Most of the racing laps themselves will be done on worn tires.
When we build a new car, first run out is to make sure nothing falls off, the brakes work, no heating issues etc. then we work on set ups and racing lines. You kept it straight right out of the box , great job
Great job Mitchell. Car is beautiful, brings me back to Kevin Harvick back in the early 2000's with that Goodwrench paint scheme . Hope to see you run that car alot more. Great job. You should be very proud of yourself.
Thanks man I appreciate it. Haven’t reflected much on it since I haven’t done anything with the car yet. Just a part of the process but it feels good to have a solid start
Great to see the baddest ass looking car on the track!!!! Man that had to be an exciting day for you! Great job Mitch--looking forward to seeing more of the car--BTW right call on holding off til next year IMO. Thx!!!!
All of the hard work is paying off. I'm so happy for you guys. I'm no expert at circle track, but I think the car has a lot of potential when the bugs are worked out.
Oh Boy another bangin Vidjeo from the coolest hotrod couple on youtube thanks kids fer all u do for us hotrod fans, Mitchel i am sure u just continue to pinch yourself wen doing some if the cooest car shit with legends again CONGRATES CHAMP, Watching u walk around ur car reminds me why nascar drivers r short lol, How many little kids r u now inspiring to do cool car shit pretty crazy life bro. Its cool u stalled it to funny man too funny, Great job narrating early in ur drive .
Thanks for sharing. You’ll get there eventually. You have a lot to learn on car setups and driving techniques and what you’re comfortable with. Just don’t over complicate it or over think it. A lot of the skill will come naturally.😃
Oh my gosh this brings back memories. I helped Bob shacht and worked with Matt and AJ for many years from the mid-90s do the mid-2000s. I would love to have been there to watch it all happen. I hear Patti schacht even got in a few laps.
How exciting, the car looked good, you looked good I could see as you made laps your times were getting quicker especially on your second rip after getting some sound advice and input. Can't wait to see more working on your car and more testing/racing so fricking exciting. Thank you!
Definitely it was starting to get fun just when I saw the car overheat. Then the transmission leak kept me from going back out. It could have saved me from hurting the motor
I know I say this a lot on your channels, but I’ve been waiting for this video ever since the teaser. Time to hear what NASCAR should sound like. Thanks as always Stapleton and Logan
Very exciting times. She looks great! These types of videos are kinda like the racing version of vice grip garage or some channel like that. The audience learns as the host tries things and learns as well. Looking forward to seeing more.
It's been great to watch this whole thing come together... beginning till now. You guys have a lot to be proud of. Check with Landon Huffman, he seems like a knowledgeable driver
At first I was caught off guard. I had never met him before he just came up and started telling me stuff. After about .2 seconds I realized I didn't need to know who he was to tell the information he had was valuable lol. Then he let us stand on his trailer to see better. Cool guy I hope we see more of him
Probably could have posted this video on the main channel but we gotta give you a reason to keep an eye on the bonus channel too right? In all seriousness I feel like I can try less hard here and do things quicker editing wise. I had a vision for what I wanted this video to be but the way real life played out we only got about 70% of the way there. So I thought it would be better over here.
Always figured 2nd channel's were stuff that would for sure get demonetized. However my youtube algorithm wizardry knowledge is limited :D Still so awesome to see where you guys have ended up!!! Thoughts to having someone else do some laps in it, could give you better feedback potentially. You don't know what you don't know kinda thing? Still exciting to see the journey!!!
The concepts that Lee shared apply all across the board. Too much wheel center trying to get it to turn and jumping back to the gas will always cause it to want to come out from under you.
Hey, first time out, you didn't break anything, more experienced drivers got in it, and corroborated what you felt and thought. It's got some teething issues, to be expected. With vacuum leaks and old tires, it ran within 4/10ths of a tuned out car with better tires from a more experienced driver, not a bad showing. I think your thinking about it all the right way, logically and pushing it and you into a first race when you both are not quite ready is the right thing to do. Too much investment into it to get impatient and toss it away due to that. I feel you are doing it the right way man. Next season, slow and easy, you need to learn more about the car and driving it, and by this time next year at the last race of the season, that's when all of this will pay off. You will then have realized and achieved confidence in the car, and yourself in driving it and learning how to set it up for best result. Your a smart guy, your doing things the right way i think, your gonna be fine with this. You have worked hard for this and i and many others i am sure are very happy for you man. 😄🙏
No experience kept it in one pc. Finish some races this season who knows, maybe running up front with Mayfield next season. One thing ive learned a lot can happen in a year. Some new parts ?another engine ?You're making knew friends. Good job
What are the spec differences for Late Models. You would think NASCAR would be faster than a local Late Model. My 1979 Z-28 Street Camaro was doing 21 seconds flat in first gear from a standing start flat track 1/4 mile .. Then I upgraded the tires and dropped 2 seconds off my time and at some point replaced a close ration 4 speed with a Doug Nach 5 speed. second gear was a much getter gear for the 1/4 mile. So my street car was running 19 seconds and sportsman were running 23 seconds on a roll late models 13 seconds on a full speed roll .. Spectator drags
the late model is a much lighter car they can carry more speed in the turns. The nascar style car is heavy and the tires we use are not very sticky on purpose. They spin easily with any aggressive power application

Thanks so much!
Watching the setup process was cool
Hell yeah! Congrats on getting her on the track. Been waiting to see this.
When we build a new car, first run out is to make sure nothing falls off, the brakes work, no heating issues etc. then we work on set ups and racing lines. You kept it straight right out of the box , great job
Thank you Rich
Congrats on getting it on track!
Awesome! I've been stoked for this! Looks and sounds great. The feedback Lee and AJ gave you right after your runs was great to hear. Go get em!!
thank you steve!

Great to see the baddest ass looking car on the track!!!! Man that had to be an exciting day for you! Great job Mitch--looking forward to seeing more of the car--BTW right call on holding off til next year IMO. Thx!!!!
The sound around the track is as real as it gets. 😊.
All of the hard work is paying off. I'm so happy for you guys. I'm no expert at circle track, but I think the car has a lot of potential when the bugs are worked out.
It definitely does have potential to be a great car

Dude. That car is amazing. Well done!
thank you!

thank you jared!
Your videos will help grow this series, that is a nice car. I needs some sorting out! You will get it.
Very exciting times. She looks great! These types of videos are kinda like the racing version of vice grip garage or some channel like that. The audience learns as the host tries things and learns as well. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you Scott I’m glad you’re able to learn things. There isn’t really any informative content like that for this type of racing
Great video! Very watchable and the in-car footage was excellent.
Hope you get those issues sorted and best of luck! 👍
Thanks mark 👍
It's been great to watch this whole thing come together... beginning till now. You guys have a lot to be proud of. Check with Landon Huffman, he seems like a knowledgeable driver
Nice!You did it!
thank you!
Good, good video Mitchell!! Keep the great content coming🏁 Michael from Pennzoil
Hope you have been well! Crazy timing I was just thinking about you while doing some research on the former Pennzoil refinery in Oil City PA!
Man that looks like fun
I was thinking about too many things to consider that I might actually be having fun 😂
Man that's Amazing! I'm so happy for you!
Thanks!
The old gurl is lookin awesome and sounds fantastic. Lee Faulk giving you tips and pointers is absolutely the coolest thing

Super cool shake down run! Thanks for taking us along and sharing your insights, that was great!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is cool to see congratulations on getting out there
Another great video, I’m surprised the Dale Trailer didn’t make the trip.
It needs a lot of work to be useable in a safe capacity
Living the dream at Tri County❤

Thought this would be a main channel post? awesome regardless
I gotta make this page worth following too!

When you get through, measure everything there's you baseline.
Remember what it felt like. You can always comeback.
Put it on scales get %'s😊
hell yea bud! Best of luck my friend!
That is a very cool experience and you are telling us what and how it feels. Where are you testing? I would love to see you in person!
This was tri county. Will probably be testing there a lot next year
Awww yeah here's what I was waiting for!
Your car looks great going around the track! Awesome video and looking forward to seeing you learn more as you go!
The concepts that Lee shared apply all across the board. Too much wheel center trying to get it to turn and jumping back to the gas will always cause it to want to come out from under you.
When I get the car mechanically sorted I am excited to get out there and deliberately test different approaches. Just to see how they feel
The car is in one piece, you are good. 1 thing at a time! Take baby steps, find more used tires to test on, get the car done correctly and then race!
That’s why they call it a test did the same thing with my dirt car just making laps and seat time 👍🏼
yes sir!
Great work and processing, Sperience is everything! ; )

🤙🏻
Pucker factor 10 +
I got maybe a level 2 the first time it got weird in turn 2 but it was fine after that once I felt how the car would react when I did make it spin
Looks like a cool track, Get some more used tires to set up the car and have it re-aligned, it is close!
No experience kept it in one pc. Finish some races this season who knows, maybe running up front with Mayfield next season. One thing ive learned a lot can happen in a year. Some new parts ?another engine ?You're making knew friends. Good job
Mitch i bet you really want mark martin to drive your race car and put a killer set up in it.
Good sh*t my friend!
Good job mitchel! Glad to see you turn some laps, just curious but do you use iracing at all?
No sir never have. My background is real cars

@@stapleton42extra I noticed a heavy roll cage. I hope the harder tires last longer.
Mitch sounds more racecar driver and rolls with the last name better, I love the channels...
I answer to both they sound the same to my ears
@@stapleton42extra I'm old anyway...lol
Very cool your butt will tell you what the car wants and likes. Good luck. 🇺🇸
Awesome video.. Glad you took us along for the trial run..Looking forward to seeing more.. Can I get an email to contact you outside comments..
