You actually need a take a journey to Bo Burnham's specials to actually understand what a genius he is. I would recommended you go in order. Start with "God's Perspective" and "Left Brain Right Brain". Trust me. Don't go backwards like other people are suggesting in the comments, take them in order, you won't regret it.

Especially Left Brain, Right Brain, but I have ADHD & my brain is kinda at war 24/7 so maybe that’s why that one got me extra personally, it felt like my brain was talking to me through Bo, I’ve literally discussed Left and Right Brain convos I’ve had with myself, so that song was like “How is he in my brain?!”, he’s amazing.

All the songs in his 2020 special Inside are in chronological order, and this song comes at around the halfpoint of the film. That means this song was written/performed around late May or early/mid June of that same year, and I think we all remember what happened then. As a Minneapolis resident myself, I'll never forget the taste of the CS gas that permeated the air.

I think focusing on working with young people like in Eighth Grade and Sesame Street is really helping Bo's mental health.

Socko is a Gold Toe sock...the long wearing, well made, reasonably priced work horse sock of the middle class in the US. My grand dad, Dad, brothers, hubs and son all get them for Christmas and make a big joke of throwing them over their shoulder.

To really understand some of the context of this video, you really need to check of the full video of Bo Burnham in the greenroom. Not only did he outsmart & outjoke most of the comedians there (& at the time he was just 20) but some of the actual basis for this song came out of it.
This is genuinely my favorite reaction to any Bo vid. Thank you for sharing it. I know this vid is old and you might not see this, but you should definitely check out Inside. I know it's not easy to react to, but even if it's just for yourself, you should check it out.

The sock is yellow on the end because it's a brand calked gold toe socks. They have been around forever. Reasonably priced, well made, good sock. And actually make real different sizes so if your hubby is 6'4" he doesn't have to wear the same socks as your 5'6" son.
Their sign are is the gold toe no matter the color of sock.
Santa brings them every year to our house. 😉

I think this song is showing three different perspectives on how the world works, the first one is upbeat but too idealistic and simplistic, the second one is still too simplistic, the third perspective shows more of the actual world, how people can get silenced by those in power.
