Samael is very old. Here’s a hint, his wings. They are upside down meaning Samael is a fallen angel. Plus he’s in the Bible, he was an archangel. Samael was one of Lucifer’s followers and was casted out of heaven with him.
We actually originally posited that the inverted vs. normal wings would be a sign of who was or wasn't a fallen angel, but the Fallen, the only unit type specifically called out as once being an angel, now a demon, has normal wings, and no one elses lineage is called out within the continuity of the games. We do know that biblically Samael has angelic ties in most of his representations. But within the context of Darksiders no specific mention is made either way and we try to throw as little guess work into these videos as possible, calling out when we are guessing when we feel the need to. TL;DR you're right! But Darksiders doesn't spell that out one way or the other unfortunately.
I just realised that Samael's armour could possibly indicate he was a fallen angel. With the gold and silver/grey colouration being something I could see on an angel. Or maybe he just ripped off an angel to wear for himself.
It always confused me how Samael knew so much information that he shouldn't have known when Death went back in time to face him. Now I understand it. Thanks!

Samael is by far the most inteligent and manipulative and selfish being in the whole Lore. He simply uses whatever and whoever he can to help him achieve his own agenda, which of course we don't know what it is. But , imo, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the possibility that there is a huge conspiracy between the Dark prince, Lilith, and the Charred Council, War being the one chosen to be the scapegoat in the middle of all this. For some reason, Samael did not agree to whatever this plan was and was imprisoned, another proof that he is much harder to kill. If the dark prince was so powerful, he could just kill Samael in a snap right? Samael most likely knows all the secrets and is seeking vengeance of his own, only to take the place as ruler. When he makes the deal with war his terms are - "bring me their hearts and ask me no questions, my reasons for helping you are my own" and later "I do not approve the company my master keeps." so he was probably next in line to rule hell, but somewhere along the way, he was discarded in favour of the destroyer, most likely as a result of some sort of a deal with the charred council...

Sometimes the hero dies in the end... Well war died twice and death sacrificed himself also strife will probably die too as war and death came in to possession of redemption and mercy but doesn't really matter cos the number of riders will always remain 4, so when the seal is broken they will all be revived and come together.
"So, the Charred Council sends only one Horseman, even to the past. No, this visit is...unsanctioned. In fact, no one knows you're here." These three sentences tell you everything you need to know about Samael's power and intelligence. 1: He believes that multiple Horsemen would be needed to defeat him even with the Council's backing. 2: He can immediately tell that Death is from the future. 3: He perceives Death's weaker power as a sign of his 'independence.'
but reality shows us a completely different truth: Death alone can completely defeat Samael even if he does not have the power of the Council. you can see after the duel, Samael was surprised and changed his mind. He even showed fatigue while Death still calm.

Think of it this way. In the game, (speaking in terms of canon, not gameplay) Death fights Samael with all his power and skill and only manages to score one hit that barely scratches him. Considering that this is a being that fought an entire army of world destroying marauders almost single handed, the fact that Samael had no problem keeping up with Death shows just how overwhelmingly powerful he really is.
That much is reason to believe in Sameal’s strength. But as seen in Darksiders 1, the Riders - like him - continue to grow in power as the war rages and they are imbued with power. The Seventh Seal was not broken during Death’s quest, all Horsemen are depowered.
That actually shows more of death's powers. Samael was the strongest demon to ever exist and death was without any of his rider powers and he still managed to wound the red prince
Samael is probably my second favourite character in the franchise. He has presence and power, yet the subtlety and cunning both expected of a quintessential demon.
they're Phantom horses, beings as ancient as creation itself, there is an Old One... a human like figure that takes care of them at their own realm, the 4 Horsemen sought him in order to have their new mounts, Death was the first to tame one of them, feat which he did easily, and thus gave him the name Despair.
death dies at the end of DS2 also, i think he was talking about that also, i think he tells both war and death the same line about sometimes heroes dies at the end.
I found your channel today and binged your Darksiders lore series, recommended to a friend and an hour later we get a video about Samael, awesome! Definitely gonna keep an eye out for future episodes
I always considered Samael's "the hero dies in the end" frase being towards War's death at the hands of Straga...tho it's a nice theory he ment Strife, since it is quite mysterious his weapons are laying around in 1 and 2.
He's definitely talking about War dying at the end vs Abaddon, glad you liked the idea about Strife though. As a sidenote, as we understand it, Straga didn't kill war, just pummeled him to pieces and left him at the Council's feet.
You're probably right, but just to clarify Straga did indeed kill War. It's even mentioned in DS2 when Death visits the undead realm, when they talk about War and how he's suffering in the Abyss until the Council decides to pick him up. You can also read that in the wiki: darksiders.wikia.com/wiki/Straga
After WAAAY TOO LONG searching, We finally found a recording of the conversation with the lord of bones that states "War's soul came through my realm burning, and is now cooling in the abyss" (seriously tried for like an hour to find the convo.) So you're absolutely correct he did die. We had always assumed he had just been beaten to a pulp and had his powers ripped from him. Thank you for helping us to find that truth. :)
@@salmaanwalker3242 Testing for a Demon of Samael's stature likely means death if you prove unworthy. He didn't seem to be holding back considering he was panting heavily after the fight.
Could you do an episode on The Abyss? What it is and what it does? In fantasy anything that is named The Abyss is usually as Evil as it gets, but I don't know anything about The Abyss in the Darksiders Lore
Samael, maybe referred to Strife as who knows how his pistols got to the other horseman (bottle with Abaddon at the end of DS 3). Maybe not only Death died at the end of his game.
I always assumed that the 'sometimes the hero dies' line referred to War's death at the hand (literally) of Straga during the Apocalypse. Nice vid btw, I love Samael as a character, and the fact that after the Darksiders 2 fight you only scratched his cheek shows his power
Oh we agree, he's a stupid level of powerhouse. Also we're pretty sure the "hero dies" line is referring do War's actual death at the end of the game, as he didn't die fighting Straga, he was just beaten bloody and then handed to the Charred Council.
That is correct. We were originally under the impression that War didn't die while fighting Straga, but later discovered we were incorrect (the Lord of Bones talks about War dying specifically, and we believe you're right that the Council hints at it though we don't recall for certain). So yes, he does die while fighting Straga. Our presumption is still that Samael is talking about War dying at the end of the game. But he did in fact die originally yes.
Same spoilers that were in the video are in this comment. So, if Samael is precog, then we can breath a sigh of relief, because War isn't quite gone yet. Especially since Samael knew that War was going to die, as we (assumably) saw in two.
Okay. So we know that Samael knew that War was going to die before Darksiders 2. And then to quote your video: "His final words to War, and chronologically to us, the audience, were simply 'We will meet again.'" War died after that. And thanks the Darksiders 2, we know for certain that Samael knew at that point in time that War was GOING to die.
War did die, it was viewed through the tree of life. In doing so, Uriel struck the seventh seal and in doing so the cosmic powers brought him back up. So I think Sameal being able to slip through time, knew full well of the events that unfolded at the end of Darksiders. As it’s said both at the end of DS1 and DS2, “The riders shall always remain as four.
@@FatalFist Samael is near a omnipresent. He somehow possibly has the ability to see all events and actions on an unknown amount and even more unknown time lines (hence why he knew Death journeyed back to the past). That being said, Samael is probably manipulating the "current" timeline in his favor and setting up everything so that he can rule over ALL kingdoms, while at the same time lessening the powers of the dark one (nephilim army, ensuring that the 7 seals are broken, honoring the Pact/Treaty, making Lilith seem untrustworthy while aligning Lilith to his side, eradicating other demon lords that would get in his way) also, the actions of the Horsemen are giving Samael the knowledge that he wants as well, seeing as he can see just about all actions taking place. All in all, when the riders ride, he remains faultless (due to his imprisonment) and he can sit back while both the Council and the Dark Prince are dealt with. Reminds me of the old homage, "3, dogs but only 2 are fighting, one just watches. Who wins? " "The dog that was watching!, why? Cause either both dogs killed each other or one has to be dead and the other is drastically wounded. The third dog just has to come in to do the final blow and takes everything" There's a more simple version, but I love the way Samael thinks (I see a lot of myself in his character), just sit back, wait it out and let your opponents kill each other, they're basically giving you the victory while you just watch or play both sides of the war from the shadows.
Maybe Archon next? I noticed(maybe wrong) that the angel never lied to you. He is giving Death as much information as he can without blantantly lying to him and leading him to aquire the Angel Key.
There are several versions of Samael in biblical lore for sure, some call him an angel, some call him a demon, others a fallen angel (like the devil), so we would not at all be surprised that there's a book saying Samael is the actual devil, that sounds possible from a biblical myth stance for sure.
Well Darksiders 2 implies that Sameal and Lucifer are two separate entities. If anything I’d wager the Pan that Death speaks to in Darksiders 2 May be Lucifer in disguise trying to play all sides. Sameal was imprisoned because “The Dark Prince” didn’t trust him.
@@FatalFist In DS when Death fights Samael... In the past, was BEFORE he was imprisoned by the Dark Prince, which is implied that this is before or right at the beginning of the 100 year imprisonment of War. Samael is near a omnipresent, so he probably allowed Death to win the fight, to give him the demon key, knowing full well that he'd be imprisoned soon, but also knowing of all and emerging timelines that War would regather his powers, thus allowing the Dark One's plans to fall, the Destroyer to be vanquished and to create a "new" timeline that put Samael in the best position to literally Conquer ALL kingdoms unchallenged.
@DR CHOAS More than likely Samael is a fallen angel. I commented on one if their other videos. In DS2, In one of the side missions (or it could've been one if the DS books I read quite often) there's a vault with 2 statues. One is enormous the other average. The extremely large one is of a daemon that closely resembles Samael, and says something along the lines of "If an angel becomes tainted with corruption and hatred for far too long, physical changes begin to happen. It's once glorious form starts to become twisted, it's wings broken and displaced, hell burning in it's eyes, before too long a powerful Demon is born" The other state is of another demon that quite resembles Lilith, and makes a very similar statement except it says that the same can occur to a human" I'm gonna try and find it, so I can link it to you.
I'm fairly certain I remember Lillith saying "I'm drawn to raw power. And NO Demon in any realm can match that of Samael" meaning he's the one who stands atop the entire race in terms of raw power...now that could just mean that his magic and strength is far beyond what any other demon could match using the same spells and techniques, which would allow the Dark Prince to actually retain the top spot (for now) with some hidden techniques and abilities and magics that Samael DOESN'T have access to or the knowledge of. But it's stated quite clearly that he IS the one with the most raw power. So any argument against him actually being more powerful than the Dark Prince and just allowing him to retain his throne has to account for that.
Absalom fight was a child's play for me... I still have the game for years now and kick his ass... And i play in nightmare difficulty .... . . The hardest fights for me were Argul the deposed mad king and Wave 99 creature in that survival mode
So the line is basically "Sometimes the hero dies at the end, if you don't believe me ask your brother" So it is about both Deaths death but we lingered slightly here on the "if you don't believe me ask your brother" Part speculating about weather he meant his brother War (Thus being precognitive,) or his brother Strife who WE believe to be dead before Darksiders 2.
Samael was testing Death, helping War, and perhaps the other Horsemen as well, could he seek their aid for the final act of war which will be against Lucifer and Charred Council?
We agree they are definitely good games, we also recently finished our play through of Warmastered and are playing the Dethinitive edition on Xbox 1 mostly because we do not have a Ps4. Hope you enjoy it as much as we will. :D
War died against Straga in the Apocalypse, or at least thats what most people (especially Straga) assumed. Sooo it might be a cheeky way for them to add the line.
We've always been fairly certain he's actually referring to War's death by the hands of his Watcher at the end of the game. More fitting in a foreshadowing narrative sense the way Samael actually speaks.
War die twice in Darksiders 1 He die first at the beginning by the champion of the destroyer and at the end by the destroyer "Abandon" Samael talks about the first time war die.
That is true he does die twice. And that is a possibility that he's talking about War dying in the beginning of the game. But then why would he mention it with the line "Sometimes the HERO dies at the end" why would Samael think of war as a hero in a story who died in "the end" when it is before the rest of his game took place? And since this conversation happened with Samael in the time frame that it did (When Death went back in time to before Samael was imprisoned and thus before the events of the beginning of Darksiders 1) He still would have been seeing into the future.
Sameal saying, “Sometimes, the hero dies.” Was a foreshadow to Death sacrificing himself - I think that was the point of his line but death does seem to be a reoccurring theme in the Darksiders universe since the Seventh Seal changes all the rules.
I honestly think Sameal wasn’t confident that Death would choose humanity over the Nephalim and thus sowed the seeds of doubt to get Death to make a decision with the best outcome.
Unfortunately we know next to nothing about Strife and Fury, so there's not much of a comparison that can be made. Our understanding is that overall Death is meant to be the most powerful of the four, but beyond that we're not sure of the power ranking.
It seems to us that not showing the Dark Prince adds a bit to his mystique and aura of menace, so it would almost be more interesting (we feel) to continue not to see his face.
In the world of Darksiders 1 falling onto a planet in meteor form seems to just be a mode of transportation. As seen in the very beginning of Darksiders 1 in the cut scene with all the demons and angels falling to earth in meteors followed by War. Then at the end of the tutorial War is beaten to near death (But not killed) by Straga, Was then imprisoned by the council for 100 years for breaking the rules and sent back to earth (once again in meteor form) to right his wrong. We then see the meteor travel one last time as the angel of death Azrael sends War to fight The Destroyer/Abaddon once again in the form of a meteor striking down and War coming from the crater. At the very end of the game Uriel kills War with the Armageddon blade then breaks the 7th Seal thus calling the horsemen no matter where they are (Dead or not) and bringing about the Apocalypse. War simply stands and his brothers and sister fall in meteor travel form. All Horsemen live and ride by the time Darksiders 1 ends. Hope this clears up the "death" of War and Meteor travel
Due to another comment and some other research we did discover that Straga did actually kill War. We were under the impression he had just been weakened. we were wrong. Sorry for the confusion
Dark siders genesis is the start of Samaels rise to power he used war and strife to wipe out his rivals and took the spoils he was given the demon key and three of the seals instead of Lucifer setting the stage for his rise to power Lucifer and Lilith aren’t trusted by the charred council so he reaped the rewards of their scheme.
It is not you, they are definitely upside down... so are most of the wings demons have in darksiders... is weird, also probably symbolic, but mostly weird.
He does, he's stabbed by Uriel in his back, honored the death oath they swore. This was Wars plan after visiting the tree of knowledge. He knew he would be killed, but also figured a way to break the seventh seal, since he was in possession of the Armeggedon blade (one of the few things string enough to break a seal). So he knew that he would be killed, but also knew that once the 7th seal was broken it would immediately revive him with full 100% power and also summon his other 3 brethren as well.
I've always wanted to see another persons understanding of the games time line. My understanding is both games are kinda side by side, reaching the same end. Would you do a video on that please?
So the thing to remember about Darksiders one is that you have the tutorial level, then 100 years pass off screen, and then the rest of the game happens. Darksiders 2 takes place during that 100 year offscreen time, presumably ending well before the 100 year mark. Death does show up at the end of Darksiders 1 in one of those meteors, but after Death's story and probably after Strife's and Fury's. We're open to doing a timeline sometime after Darksiders 3 comes out though if you or others would still be interested.
Two Men and a Mic Am I correct to assume that the 7th deal being broken resurrects any fallen Horsemen. Similar to how War stands up after a fatal wound and after Death plummets into the Well .
As far as we can tell since the idea is once the 7th seal is broken the horsemen ride and War is resurrected, there's no reason to assume that the 3 meteors we see at the end of Darksiders are just the dead falling bodies of the other three horsemen. :P For this reason we assume all 4 horsemen will for one reason or another be dead at the end of their games.
We're not sure we know what you mean? The Horsemen never switched sides? Or do you mean why they worked for the council against the other Nephilim? If it's the last one, we cover it in this video if that helps: ua-cam.com/video/h_oN_1FCZfY/v-deo.html
I don't see how Samael can be considered stronger than the Dark Prince when he was actually imprisoned and his powers were stripped presumably by the Dark Prince.
We agree that the Dark Prince almost certainly had a hand in locking Samael up, but another thing to consider is that it was probably both the Dark Prince and Abaddon (hopped up on the Well of Souls) that locked Samael's power away. It's also possible that the Dark Prince ripped the power out of Samael to defeat him instead of afterword. Or... all of those rumors about Samael being stronger than the Dark Prince were just that, rumors.
Arguably Lucifer is much more powerful but as any powerful villain, arrogant and paranoid. Sameal was seen as a rival rising to power. There’s also probably an angle Lucifer is playing and may have seen Sameal’s role in the end war. Likely inprisoning Sameal was an attempt to keep War inprisoned and protect the Seventh Seal so the four Horsemen wouldn’t interfere.
War did indeed die. He was like you said impaled by urial at the end of the game but then he was resurrected by the power of the seventh seal being broken and summoning his brothers and sister to earth. But make no mistake he was indeed dead for at least a few seconds there.
Why Darksiders separated Samael from Lucifer? And made them two separated entities? Is this kind of future plot twist that would be revealed in the future that Samael and Lucifer are the same entity? Because in Christian Mythology, the original name of Lucifer Morningstar is Samael, meaning the Wrath of God or the Poison of God, seeing that Samael have wings, maybe is entirely a demon as he say he is.
We don't know about the name thing from Christian mythology. As for them being the same person, there's no possible way inside of Darksiders cannon for this to be case as Samael is constantly fighting with Lucifer, Lilith hates Samael and wants nothing more than to serve Lucifer. So in Darksiders canon, definitely not the same person. As for the wings you can check out our lore video on the demons of Darksiders. Depends on the mythology. In modern Christian mythology, they’ve been fused together as figures. However, in older conceptions of the mythology, for example the Jewish mythology, the figures are different and separate with unique functions (much like the difference between Mycenaean and Greek mythology with the roles of the likes of Poseidon, Pan and Dionysus). In older versions of the mythology, Lucifer and Samael were indeed different beings, Lucifer being the favourite son of god who fell in his own vanity and Samael at one point being the angel of death (later replaced by Azrael) and at another point being a very powerful devil, being the serpent in Eden and the consort of Lilith (who is also wiped from modern Christian mythology which claims Eve to be the first woman instead). Thats not even to talk about Dante’s inferno (which is literally a Christian canon that includes the river Styx, centaurs and Hercules as real figures) where its even more convoluted with Satan being a separate being too

the ending is achieved by NOT skipping the credits and just waiting.
The Dark Prince is speaking to Lilith
The dark prince is basically lucifer

Sometimes the hero dies in the end... Well war died twice and death sacrificed himself also strife will probably die too as war and death came in to possession of redemption and mercy but doesn't really matter cos the number of riders will always remain 4, so when the seal is broken they will all be revived and come together.
strife maybe died in the defence of the last stand
And their full power is unleashed and their abyssal armor is on
"So, the Charred Council sends only one Horseman, even to the past.
No, this visit is...unsanctioned. In fact, no one knows you're here."
These three sentences tell you everything you need to know about Samael's power and intelligence.

It was such a pleasant surprise to discover that we get to interact with Samael on a regular basis in Darksiders Genesis! Awesome addition to his lore and the lore of Darksiders in general!
Samuel is my favorite character in the series easily
Coolest demon for sure, and definitely one of the coolest characters, agreed :)
I noticed in Darksiders 2 during the fight against him he has was using inferno and lightning combined
The Samael fight is hands down the hardest fight in the game. Absalom comes close but not close enough.
It has been a while since I played through and beat the game. So my memory is a little foggy on both of these fights. But I do remember them both being beastly. As for which one is harder... I have always had a harder time with long reach melee weapons so Absolom I believe was harder for me. But we'll see when we finish this play through.
-Isaac
Tarren never got to either fight.
Git guud scrubs!
lol, want me to do your playthrough for you? It'll be a cakewalk :P
I have to agree with you on that one mate. Ive played through darksiders 2 multiple times and Samael still takes me a bit to get past. currently doing a play through now on my channel actually
Yeah, I'm doing an Apocalyptic run through Darksiders 2 and I'm worried about going up against him, like he's already hard enough in Easy and Normal, which I've still both completed
I love how he tells War "I will strip the marrow from your bones" that line alone really shows how strong he is.
His very first line is "War, are you here to play executioner? They should've sent all four of you.", after all.
Samael is stronger than what we've seen of him.
He told that to a War who was still recovering his full power. It's easy to mock an enemy who isn't anywhere near their prime.
@@gamechanger0158 exactly they are unstoppable and invincible in their full power forms
Along with their abyssal armor wich makes them Enhanced in all the good ways
My guess is you will have cool downs for abilities
And ultimate bars filled by each different horsemen's thing death gets his ults by killing
strife gets his ults by finishing off enemies with his guns
Fury gets her ults by dodging and finishing off her opponents
War gets his ults by killing and tanking damage
And no health bar instead
Each horsemen will be tied to a unique human life
That will be with them in a certain capacity like say on their backs or in their pockets (they all get huge in their forms)
These 4 humans have no evil and can evolve into their full potential
But are weak creatures
(I think of this like Dbz/s beerus God of destruction
unstoppable and the strongest in universe 7 has his life tied to a god of creation while stronger than grunts and most mortals they are not strong among the strong)
I figgin' LOVE that there are others who know the lore beat for beat like I do... thanks for putting these out and sharing my passion for Darksiders lore!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the videos! :)
Agreed.
Samael was the strongest demon to ever exist and death was without any of his rider powers and he still managed to wound the red prince
that only makes the horsemen hella OP and I for one cant wait until we either play as the gunslinging horseman or as all four in full power
Rajeev Roy u call a scratch a wound? Good joke bro, samael didn’t even try and all he did was resting on his chair during fight
Also he's voiced by Bennet, the villian from Commando. I would have never made the comparison if i hadn't looked into who sammy's VA was.
The range on good voice actors can be incredibly surprising, we agree.
Samael is probably my second favourite character in the franchise.
He has presence and power, yet the subtlety and cunning both expected of a quintessential demon.
I bet Death is the first
The kingdom of Hell and Spires of Heaven were made by the Makers. As all the realms in Darksiders universe.

How about the Horses of War & Death? Ruin & Despair?
Lygartz read the comics by dark horse comics about darksiders
they're Phantom horses, beings as ancient as creation itself, there is an Old One... a human like figure that takes care of them at their own realm, the 4 Horsemen sought him in order to have their new mounts, Death was the first to tame one of them, feat which he did easily, and thus gave him the name Despair.
I'd love to see a video about Vulgrim!
death dies at the end of DS2 also, i think he was talking about that also, i think he tells both war and death the same line about sometimes heroes dies at the end.
I found your channel today and binged your Darksiders lore series, recommended to a friend and an hour later we get a video about Samael, awesome! Definitely gonna keep an eye out for future episodes
Awesome! Glad you've enjoyed them, and timely episodes are always the best! :)
Np :)
Sorry for not linking that conversation btw...i was lazy but couldve saved u some time :p

That really just depends on weather YOU used reaper form. But also its implied that Samael wasn't really trying to kill death but was testing him

Samael even if he can get the throne of Hell he will not do that, he knows what will happen he just waits
Samael does seem to play the smartest out of all, siding with the horsemen as they remove his enemies
@@TrueMastersandMorons
He did die in his first fight versus Strata. Doesn't the council mention this to him as well?
That is correct. We were originally under the impression that War didn't die while fighting Straga, but later discovered we were incorrect (the Lord of Bones talks about War dying specifically, and we believe you're right that the Council hints at it though we don't recall for certain). So yes, he does die while fighting Straga. Our presumption is still that Samael is talking about War dying at the end of the game. But he did in fact die originally yes.
If you don't get to fight the dark prince, then Samael should be the last boss of the final game
The charred council will probably be a boss
Do video about white city and dark kingdom OR angels please ;D also, nice to watch this lore
Hes just standing there. . .MENACINGLY
Best character? Best character.
Same spoilers that were in the video are in this comment.
So, if Samael is precog, then we can breath a sigh of relief, because War isn't quite gone yet. Especially since Samael knew that War was going to die, as we (assumably) saw in two.
We assume you mean Death. If so then YES we agree. If not then we're confused. :P
Okay.
So we know that Samael knew that War was going to die before Darksiders 2.
And then to quote your video:
"His final words to War, and chronologically to us, the audience, were simply 'We will meet again.'"
War died after that.
And thanks the Darksiders 2, we know for certain that Samael knew at that point in time that War was GOING to die.
Yes?
War did die, it was viewed through the tree of life. In doing so, Uriel struck the seventh seal and in doing so the cosmic powers brought him back up. So I think Sameal being able to slip through time, knew full well of the events that unfolded at the end of Darksiders.
As it’s said both at the end of DS1 and DS2, “The riders shall always remain as four.
@@FatalFist
Samael is near a omnipresent.
Who wins? "
"The dog that was watching!, why? Cause either both dogs killed each other or one has to be dead and the other is drastically wounded. The third dog just has to come in to do the final blow and takes everything"
There's a more simple version, but I love the way Samael thinks (I see a lot of myself in his character), just sit back, wait it out and let your opponents kill each other, they're basically giving you the victory while you just watch or play both sides of the war from the shadows.
Maybe Archon next? I noticed(maybe wrong) that the angel never lied to you. He is giving Death as much information as he can without blantantly lying to him and leading him to aquire the Angel Key.
I thought the exact same thing.

So glad to be able to answer your question and get you an enjoyable video!
Lucifer's name before his Fall From Grace or at least one of the books of Archangels I have States this
There are several versions of Samael in biblical lore for sure, some call him an angel, some call him a demon, others a fallen angel (like the devil), so we would not at all be surprised that there's a book saying Samael is the actual devil, that sounds possible from a biblical myth stance for sure.
@@FatalFist
In DS when Death fights Samael...
@DR CHOAS
More than likely Samael is a fallen angel.
It's once glorious form starts to become twisted, it's wings broken and displaced, hell burning in it's eyes, before too long a powerful Demon is born"
The other state is of another demon that quite resembles Lilith, and makes a very similar statement except it says that the same can occur to a human"
I'm gonna try and find it, so I can link it to you.
I'm going to second the request for Ruin and Despair.
Death dies too at the end of darksiders 2
Samael just vibin.

The hero dies line could also reference deaths ending in the darksiders 2.

War died against Straga in the Apocalypse, or at least thats what most people (especially Straga) assumed. Sooo it might be a cheeky way for them to add the line.
Zack Kerber it’s also because War went to the Tree of Life and saw himself impaled by the Armageddon Blade.

Incase some of you are worried. War already died once in abomination vault, but was revived by his brother death.
Yes... poor War, he's sitting at three Deaths, and if we're right everyone else is just going to be at one (after their respective games).
I wonder how much more 7 seals death would struggle with Samael. If at all.
Can you do a vid on the mounts of the Horsemen?
the first time when war died with the straga during the apocalypse. that when Samuel meant.
We've always been fairly certain he's actually referring to War's death by the hands of his Watcher at the end of the game. More fitting in a foreshadowing narrative sense the way Samael actually speaks.
What if the line the hero at the dies at the end refers to death jumping into The Well of Souls
We feel like it probably does. We think it refers to both Death and War.
Seems to be a running theme. Because breaking the seventh seal brings them back to life. And we see all three join War in Darksider’s conclusion.
Can you do a lore on the chosen pleas .
Yes. Shall we
Is samael the left hand side of God??
Maybe next time do Lilith
Please do Lillith!
Hope you guys can do a lore about how powerful each of the horsemen are..
Unfortunately we know next to nothing about Strife and Fury, so there's not much of a comparison that can be made. Our understanding is that overall Death is meant to be the most powerful of the four, but beyond that we're not sure of the power ranking.

Can someone explain to me why the demons wings are upside down?
Unknown at this time. other than to be in opposition of angels. But not all are upside down so who knows.
I just hope we at least get a glimpse of the dark prince in 3
It seems to us that not showing the Dark Prince adds a bit to his mystique and aura of menace, so it would almost be more interesting (we feel) to continue not to see his face.
Two Men and a Mic im just wondering.is dark prince maybe Lucifer or who it?
Tilen Stupar yes most likely. But we won’t find out for sure until more hints are given in next installments or comics
War have die 2 time one at the beginning of the game when War fight Saga
War was severely incapacitated in the fight with Straga but was not killed, And was brought in chains to the council their after.
Two Men and a Mic War had been Crush and he fall in a meteor shower like the other Horseman at the end of the game
Two Men and a Mic no problem everyone made mistakes
you goes wrong there man samel stop cuz death is responding to samel attacks even death doesnt have his full power and he fight equally at end
I hope Fury makes an appearance in DS 3
She definitely will ;p
We're thinking probably 50/50 on Samael though...
Two Men and a Mic I totally meant Strife lol. The dual wield pistol BAMF

Lol. Yeeeeah... But also time manipulation! :P
Didn't he have a family member appear as the main villain in the movie Legend? Or was that him? XD
Is it me or are his wings upside down
It is not you, they are definitely upside down... so are most of the wings demons have in darksiders... is weird, also probably symbolic, but mostly weird.
Can you please make a video about the Darksiders 3
We'll start getting those out once we've finished our playthrough of the game.
War doesn't die at the end Darksiders
He does, he's stabbed by Uriel in his back, honored the death oath they swore. This was Wars plan after visiting the tree of knowledge. He knew he would be killed, but also figured a way to break the seventh seal, since he was in possession of the Armeggedon blade (one of the few things string enough to break a seal). So he knew that he would be killed, but also knew that once the 7th seal was broken it would immediately revive him with full 100% power and also summon his other 3 brethren as well.
Totally forgot :p my bad, been a while since I played DS1
Two Men and a Mic I agree, now we just wait and see if this theory about Fury and Strife being dead becomes a fact.
Hey guys I'm playing Darksiders 2 & wondering what are the 2 empty ability slots?
I can only assume you're talking about on the wheel? those are slots to equip your unlock able abilities otherwise not sure what you mean.
I don't know if there is an answer or not but can you try to give us an answer as to why the horsemen switched sides in the first place?
Likely inprisoning Sameal was an attempt to keep War inprisoned and protect the Seventh Seal so the four Horsemen wouldn’t interfere.
this is a great video but I wonder y he wasn't in Darksiders 3
Because he had already been locked away in his prison that we find him in in Darksiders 1. :)
Shame he wasn't in darksiders 3
Technically War didn't die at the end of Darksiders, yes urial did impale him at the end of the game, but the end is left ambiguous
War did indeed die. He was like you said impaled by urial at the end of the game but then he was resurrected by the power of the seventh seal being broken and summoning his brothers and sister to earth. But make no mistake he was indeed dead for at least a few seconds there.
good point well its a good video none-the-less
You'll see that wings are not as informative as we all wish they would be. :P

@@TrueMastersandMorons This is not an insult, I only find it contradictory, that is all, Darksiders is a good source for beings larger than life itself, literal gods, I trying to expand my cosmology in my fictional universe, I have my Lovecraftian aliens, but I now I want to expand to literal gods, for varied pantheons and Darksiders seems to be a good source of inspirations, also I always wanted to play Darksider II, I am surprise how hard is the first fucking dungeon, in Assassin Creed was a test of how well you knew the mechanics of the game, but here you need to solve the puzzles, and sometimes is not apparent what puzzle it is, I have been writing for the last five years science fiction/fantasy, but now I want to expand more the fantasy aspect, beginning from the bottom of the barrel, vampires, werewolfs, fae, to then expand to celestials and gods, I was having a discussion for a original setting for vampires, something that wasn't made before, and we agree in science fiction, the problem is putting vampire in a science fiction setting is very hard it seems.
Thats not even to talk about Dante’s inferno (which is literally a Christian canon that includes the river Styx, centaurs and Hercules as real figures) where its even more convoluted with Satan being a separate being too
Makke a vidoe about the devil
Wesley VL we don’t know too much about Lucifer. His only pseudo appearance was in Darksiders 2 during a post credits cut scene.
In the comics acting as a prelude to Darksiders, Abbadon conspired with Lilith and Lucifer in order to fight and create the endwar. It was said in Darksiders 1 that Sameal was imprisoned and stripped of his power because “The Dark One.” had grown wary of his increasing rise to power.
