I learned how to knit in nursing school because everyone said it was so relaxing. It wasn’t relaxing to me but I still do it sometimes because I love the outcome. I followed a you tube tutorial on this crocheted blanket. Had so much fun doing it and now want to learn crochet. 🎤 I love watching Kate Singh (it used to be coffee with Kate), recently found Wyld West (love her like I love you) and my husband and I watch Vancity Vanlife and The Cat Lady (both Canadian 😊)
🎤 Had a challenging day today. Sitting down, knitting, and watching your vlog made me feel like I was getting to know a new friend. I’m a newer subscriber and I enjoy the authenticity of your content. As you grow, don’t feel like you have to change from the pressure you are feeling! My favorite UA-camrs are: voolenvine, Christopher Allen, Grocery Girls, By the Lakeside….
I’m so sorry you had a challenging day but am so glad my vlog could give you even a tiny bit or comfort as so many vlogs have done the same for me. I’m so glad you’re here. I don’t see myself changing…evolving over time, but not truly changing. I will have to check those out though I do know By the Lakeside shared my vlog during vlogmas and I’m forever grateful! Thank you for being here ❤️
I LOVE Ariel Bissett. I've been following her house journey since she bought it. She's got such a nice, casual, friendly hangout vibe and I adore what she's done to her house. This was nice, btw, I always like getting to know more about my favorite youtubers 😊
Isn’t she amazing?! I just love her eclectic style and her infectious laugh. Omg. Perfection. Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it ❤️
My word this year is strength because I want to make my mind and body stronger. I love to knit and crochet equally. I’m pretty good at both. I’ll go back and forth between projects.
🎤 Erin, so nice to hear a little more about your life/family. I totally understand the travel situation with dogs. We also have 3 rescued dogs and one of them is very fearful too; so it’s difficult to leave them. We’ve never boarded; either our son watches them or we just do day trips for now. Although I would say my favorite vacations when our kids were young was up in McGregor Bay in the Georgian Bay of Canada staying in a cabin only accessible by boat, so peaceful ! We live in northwest Ohio, and I hope to explore more of Canada in our retirement years. One of my favorite Canadian UA-camrs is Sandy by the Lakeside. You have that peaceful quality that she does in her videos, so I think you’re going to continue to grow!!! 😊 -Anne
It’s nice to know we aren’t alone in the dog boat…we have had family do it, but it feels like a big ask for us. That sounds wonderful! I hope you do get to explore Canada more. She actually shared my channel over vlogmas and I am so grateful to her. Thank you for your kind words and for believing in me, Anne ❤️
Ohhh I love the chilli recipe!!! Anne of Green Gables is my favorite series of books.. Did you watch the series Anne of Avonlea? My daughters and I watched it every week on Saturday afternoon! …. I have a podcast… and I know it is a big time commitment but I love it! My favorite podcast is yours!!😊 I also watch Belle and Stitch … Cabin Boy Knits is a Canadian podcast but he has not posted for quite some time…. I love knitting but struggle with crochet… Happy New Year!
Do you mean the newer series Anne with an E? Or the old 90’s show Avonlea? If not, I may be missing out! You’re very kind! I will definitely check those other people out as well. Thank you so much. Happy new year!🥳
🎤 It was so fun to learn more about your family! Sandy by the Lakeside is a Canadian vlogger who is one of my favorites. I am watching in Carson City, Nevada

It feels like a totally different era, but I loved her so much! I actually had a little piece published in Taproot Magazine and she shared my blog once. It was such a big deal for me!
Happy new year. To be honest, your sound was better without the mic. We don't travel either but I am totally good with that. My parents are from Newfoundland and I swear I am related to half the island. My dad was in the Canadian Army so I didnt get to go to Newfoundland often. Would move there tomorrow if I could. Such a friendly and beautiful province.
Thank you for telling me that because I thought the same thing, but how is that possible?! 🤷🏼♀️ Oh neat! Where did they live? It definitely is beautiful and I could 100% be happy living somewhere in Atlantic Canada!
Erin oh my goodness it feels like we're the same person! Currently sipping my Biscuit Tea while I watch. It's my top fave. I do love Toast and Jam but Biscuit has my soul. I will be so sad if they ever stop making it, which I don't think will happen as it's pretty popular. Anywho.....We're also a homeschooling fam, my husband has the same job title as yours, we too have a hard time traveling due to funds and pets, I also am a missive thrift fan. I would say 95% of our home is thrifted. Book lover over here too. Working with bread and baking brings me so much joy but I can not eat it. More for my husband and boys to enjoy though! I took LOOOOOVE cookbooks and love curling up and flipping through their pages. Now I can not knit so that's one we don't have in common. I so hope you stay true to yourself and what you're creating here even with your growth. I just love your channel and all that you're doing over here!
Oh wow! Isn’t it wild when you find someone you feel so kindred too! I really CAN’T knit, but I dabble 😂. It all sounds so lovely! I wish we could be neighbours, but this is the next best thing, I think. I definitely plan on staying true to me in my videos and sharing all the aspects of what is important in my life. Thank you so much for sharing and for being here ❤️
PS... Do you listen to Ariel Bissett's podcast? I love it! It's just as cozy and comforting as her UA-cam channel but it's book focused. In case you don't know about it, it's called Books Unbound. They post video recordings of it on a different UA-cam channel. Not Canadian but I love an religiously watch..... -Old World Home - Morgan Long - Brooke Epps is (loads younger than me and tonally different phase of life but her and her family are hilarious
🎤 Yes to white Christmases. ☃️❄️🎄 Unfortunately, we don't see them as often in Iowa as we did when I was a child. Green Christmases make me sad too! Loved listening to all the questions and answers. I don't think I have the ability to pick up my top three UA-camrs. There are too many wonderful ones, you included, of course!
Ooh! You gave me an idea with the jam jars! I'm going to do that with the coconut oil I just bought last night. I like to use it for skin care at times, and I don't want the giant jar in my bathroom. 🎉 Okay, back to watching...
We travelled to PEI for our 50th anniversary! Loved everything about it and you inspired me to read some of L M Montgomery books over again. I too love Yorkshire Tea but have never found the biscuit tea or toast and jam choice to purchase. I will look for it. ❤️ 🎤
Isn’t it so beautiful! I always love reading her books. I recommend The Blue Castle for the winter scenes and descriptions if you ah ent already read it! Yes, you have to look online or in British specialty shops. I never see it in grocery stores here.
I'm from St.John's, NL ☺ I also grew up reading Anne of Green Gables. I visited PEI this past summer and went to the Anne of Green Gables house, loved it! My favorite you tubers to watch are Angie Bellemare she's Canadian, it's a fun channel. I also watch Cecilla Blomdahl and Roaming Reckless. I'm really enjoying your channel ☺🎤 My daughter's boyfriend has a channel he's a welder, his channel's name is Ovenged.
my mom was a crochet person. We had brought one of her afghan blankets to the nursing home for my dad after my mom died. Someone stole it so yeah, that was heartbreaking. I love winter too! My favorite UA-camr is Tracie which is Life in the Wylde Wild West and you! I also love Kari whos channel name is Watercolor Kari.
I just found you this week, ❤ love your chat. I have three Canadian vloggers I’ve been watching for years. Joshua Alexander., Parkland films. Curiosity Inc. 🎤 ❤
Happy New Year! I really enjoy your channel and wish you and your family a very happy new year, filled with good health, happiness, and all good things. I love that you asked what our top favorite UA-cam channels are. You are one for sure. If you or anyone is interested in creating watercolor, I've been following Diane Antone Studio. She introduced me to the love of watercolor and I didn't even know how to paint before. A second one that I enjoy is more about home life, and her channel is called Olesya and House. Both are relaxing and inspiring. I hope you check both out. I know you'll be impressed. Art and homemaking are things that truly make me happy.
Thank you so much! I wish you and yours the very same! That’s so kind! I don’t think I’ve heard of Diane Antone, but I have watched a few of Olesya! They are calming and beautiful for sure! Thank you for being here ❤️
What is your wall colour in your living room? And, just want to make sure you don't have a colour altering filter on your videos ...as if so perhaps the wall colour comes across differently. Thanks! Love you videos! Fellow home educating, thrifting, Ontario based mom. ✌🏼
Hmmm, it’s from Home Hardware and I believe it’s called carrot cake maybe? Ugh, I used to remember every colour, but I’d really have to dig to find it now… It shows up on camera pretty much as it does in real life…changes with the light and time of day, obviously. That’s so fun! Love meeting fellow Ontario people!
@the.ellemars Thanks!! Just looked it up on beautiTone (home hardware) and they have one called 'Spiced Carrot' is that it? So beautiful! Definitely considering it for our living room wall. I've been looking for a tone like that, and love seeing it "in real life" in someone's home first.
🎤🎤 My fav UA-camrs (besides you of course!): Chelsey Callahan (New York); LiveitlikeLauren (UK); Ben and Emily (UK - narrowboat/vanlife); the exPawers (Spain but from UK); Little Boho Cottage (US - but she feels Canadian…so cozy; I think you would love her!!!!).
🎤 Jessica Wanders is a budget-eats, pantry and freezer cooking and gardening from Canada, and Shannon Makes, who does the crafting and now home renovation vlogs, also from Canada are two that I have enjoyed. Fat Squirrel Speaks is an American youtuber that I have enjoyed for many years, primarily knitting and spinning, but also quilting, occasionally crochet and embroidery. I tend to be drawn to ones that are multi-faceted (as you are!)
Those all sound so great! I love a wide variety of channels and topics as well! It really comes down to liking the person behind it all I think. I need to write all of these down!
🎤Loved this chatty vlog! I don't know that I have any specifically Canadian besides you, but a couple of my favorite UA-cam channels are Little Hill Homestead and Cher | Our Seasonal Stories (she's from the UK).
🎤Morgan Long is one of my fav vlogers .... a few more I enjoy Better Me Blossoming, Haley Post - My Moonstone Kitchen,Honey Bee Cottage and UK is Henriette Soby...
🎤There are quite a few Canadian vloggers that feature their Knitting. Which I know, isn’t your main interest, but you might like the Knitty Stew youtube.com/@theknittystew?si=BuJqGHCZFARPLqT6 As the name implies, she is a stewardess with Canadian airline and when she has layovers, she films the local towns and villages. She’s also a fun person to listen to. Talk some about the indigenous people‘s of various areas. Thank you for answering questions you’re so sweet to share your life!
🎙🎤 I watch such a variety of channels on UA-cam, a lot of knitting, reading/books and a lot of journaling/planning content - it would be so hard to pick a favorite.
🎤 Three of my favourite UA-camrs are British one living in the states, one in Cornwall and one living in the Scottish countryside , I have some favourites Canadian UA-camrs, but I’m a knitter and they’re all about knitting. These three are more lifestyle Immy Lucas, Madeleine Olivia, Rewilding Jude🎤
🎤 I watch Julie Nolke, she has a you tube channel, from Toronto, hilarious. Not really vlogger, a comedian. She did the pandemic videos that went viral. Erin with an E is my favorite vlogger🩷
🎤🎤 …. lovefromnatalie❤her channel has been such a blessing ❤ and of course your channel … another is Cecilia Blomdahl ❤ her channel has always been a great treasure to watch.
@@the.ellemars most welcome I started watching your channel before you hit your goal for viewers of 1K .. I truly relate to so much of your content and lifestyle goals .. I am a crocheting nerd like you said either it’s crochet or knitting you gravitate towards the one you’re better at lol .. I also have anxiety issues which I too take meds for as well as Lupus and Fibromyalgia and RA .. So I can totally relate to your post and channel … Please keep posting and vlogging for you truly help others like myself 🫶🏻 Love from Texas ❤️🫶🏻
Goodness, where do I start. I guess the most regular one that I go to is Enhance The Seasons with Karen. Cher/Our Seasonal Stories, Sarah, Cherry menlove. I feel like I travel the world with my You Tube favourites 😄🎤❤ Good luck with yours. You made it to my list 😊
Great list for me to check out! Thank you! I think that’s why I love watching British or Swedish or Scottish UA-camrs! Because it feels like I’ve been to visit somehow. I’m so honoured to make your list ❤️
Loved your vlog and it felt like u were sitting across from me having a conversation over coffee at Tim’s .. loved it 🎤 so my first blogger to recommend to u is me … Maggie’s porch house / @our_porch_house And the other is ..Mama Brooke Hope u Ck us out to support us Canadian (Toronto ) gals Who knows maybe one day we can meet up and have a fun day together thrifting and a picnic Enjoy your evening 😊
Awe, that is so kind! I love that. I’ve definitely been meaning to check your channel out as well. I love the sound of that picnic. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I am definitely more a crocheter than knitter. If knitting doesn’t come naturally to you - don’t do it. Don’t stress yourself out about it. ❤
I waffle between giving up and just accepting it and then really wanting to do it again 😂
🎤 your channel is my favorite ❤ Old word home mentioned you today in her vlog and recommended you to her viewers 🎉
A few people have said that and I am so grateful to her for that! Thank you for saying I’m your fave 😉❤️
I’m so glad I found you! Can’t wait or cheer on your consistency as the year goes on 🎉!
You’re so kind! I’m glad you found me too ❤️
Sandy by the Lakeside and Sweet Skein O Mine are both cozy Canadian UA-camrs that I love! Take care Erin.🎙
Yes! I forgot that Sandy is Canadian! Thank you!
Yes. I love the kitchen and cookbooks and gadgets. Would love to see cookbooks that you swear by. Great video. Thank you

My word this year is also “consistency.” I can completely relate when you said, “my life would greatly improve with a little more consistency. ❤
Oh awesome! Consistency is the key that unlocks everything. Please know I am cheering for you ❤️
My word this year is strength because I want to make my mind and body stronger. I love to knit and crochet equally. I’m pretty good at both. I’ll go back and forth between projects.

@ ohh the Anne from the 90’s series
We loved it !! 🥰
🎤 Great job! So glad you are going to be able to squeeze a bit of thrifting into your budget 👏
Yes! I am thrilled as well! I’m already in withdrawal 😂🫠
🎤 It was so fun to learn more about your family! Sandy by the Lakeside is a Canadian vlogger who is one of my favorites. I am watching in Carson City, Nevada
Oh yay! Yeah, I believe she shared my channel during vlogmas so I am so grateful to her! Glad you’re here ❤️
Came to also mention Sandy! She's a wonderful person and friend! :)
🎤Hop-along- Hollow, Grocery Girls (Canadian), Crafty Clegg, Curiosity Shop and of course your channel are among my favorites. Enjoyed your Q&A session.
I don’t think I know a single one of those! My list is growing!! Thank you so much for sharing and for watching ❤️
Kristin Hoffman!
Thanks for sharing it was so cozy especially the story of Huckels getting the rooster off your son Silas! How sweet!
Have a good week Erin🎤❤
Will check her out! Thank you ❤️
I’m glad you enjoyed that story! He’s such a good boy.
You too! 🥰❤️
❤ leaving love but as your gaining in popularity no need to answer back my friend. This can feel overwhelming. I’m here to support. I’m happy to learn more about you today! The jars!! I’m going to write prompts in mine and have an advent next year with exciting and fun things to do. I did something similar during COVID on my IG page and it got a lot of attention. People wanted to know what I would choose to do each day.
I love your positive talk about 10,000 subs this year and brand deal! Amazing!
Thank you. 🎤
That’s a great idea! I have two calendars worth now, but hope to do tea and toastmas again next year. Maybe I could add that on 😉
I, an intense book freak, was in a reading slump for a few years. I was only getting into research/reference books. Many, many books on health took up most of my time, (it still can). I love anatomy and physiology so I go pretty deep. Not to worry though as I was still stockpiling novels "for later". 😁
I’m definitely in a reading slump right now! That will be my next vlog question! What book would you recommend to get out of a reading slump!
My current absolute fave UA-camr is Rajiv Surendra. I just wish the whole world could know him. ❤❤❤
Instantly captivated by his thumbnails as I had to check him out as soon as I read your high praise! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Yayyy!! His videos are so varied so you have to watch a bunch of em!
@@wovenheart2686I absolutely love him too!
Hi Erin
Have you thought of making your own lip balms to put in your little jars?? There are many easy peasy recipes online.
I used to make my own deodorant, lip balms, etc! That’s a great idea. I’d love to make some nice solid perfumes as well!
Not a fan of kidney beans. My sister and I use a mixed bean can and a can of brown beans but have been meaning to add lentils next time. Not really w knitter but want to make a black and white striped pillow that looks like a bow. Need to figure out type of wool, needles and type if stich.
Kidney beans and navy beans are my two faves, but I’m a big bean fan 😉.
That sounds really lovely!
🎤🎙 I crochet and knit, but I agree that one wins over the other.
Knitty Natty is my favorite, you tuber.
Nice! Glad to hear I’m not alone in thinking that!
Yes, I used to follow soulemama’s blog years ago as well!
It feels like a totally different era, but I loved her so much! I actually had a little piece published in Taproot Magazine and she shared my blog once. It was such a big deal for me!

Ooh! You gave me an idea with the jam jars! I'm going to do that with the coconut oil I just bought last night. I like to use it for skin care at times, and I don't want the giant jar in my bathroom. 🎉 Okay, back to watching...
Haha! Thats another great idea!
Coconut oil is a good idea! I have an ugly jar with a broken lid up in my bathroom and my boys bathroom. Thanks for the idea!

Oh thank you! These sound right up my alley! Some I know and some I don’t so I will check them out. Thank you for sharing ❤️
New microphone is not working. Happy January!
Yes, that’s what I thought too. So disappointing! Same to you 🥳
🎤 Jessica Wanders is a budget-eats, pantry and freezer cooking and gardening from Canada, and Shannon Makes, who does the crafting and now home renovation vlogs, also from Canada are two that I have enjoyed.
Ohhh! Thank you! That sounds right up my alley!
So glad you enjoyed 🥰
🎤🎙️🎤 Great video

🎤🎤 cocktail hour at the coup, and fruity knitting, and you of course

🎤Morgan Long is one of my fav vlogers .... a few more I enjoy Better Me Blossoming, Haley Post - My Moonstone Kitchen,Honey Bee Cottage and UK is Henriette Soby...
Oh yes! I enjoy Morgan and Haley as well! I fell like honey bee cottage sounds familiar as well but I will have to check it out ❤️
🎤There are quite a few Canadian vloggers that feature their Knitting. Which I know, isn’t your main interest, but you might like the Knitty Stew

As the name implies, she is a stewardess with Canadian airline and when she has layovers, she films the local towns and villages. She’s also a fun person to listen to. Talk some about the indigenous people‘s of various areas.
Thank you for answering questions you’re so sweet to share your life!
Oh that actually sounds like the perfect sort of content! I’m definitely going to check her out!
Thank you ❤️🥰
🎙🎤 I watch such a variety of channels on UA-cam, a lot of knitting, reading/books and a lot of journaling/planning content - it would be so hard to pick a favorite.
I definitely understand that as some channels are so different and unique. We love them for different reasons. That’s why I love UA-cam so much!
