Store decor and windows are always so festive and magical! A Christmas Story is such a good one. A friend of my dad’s played in the soundtrack orchestra!
🍍 * Favorite Christmas thing as a kid was enjoying all of my grandmas Christmas decor - her white/silver tree with the multi- colored light wheel and her 2 ft. Santa that held a magical bubble light candle. I was always mesmerized by them. * Favorite when my kids were little was driving around looking at all the Christmas lights and decorating cut out cookies. * Finally, now that I'm that old single hippie who lives in a small little cottage of my very own, I'd have to say its coming up with alternative ideas for a Christmas "tree". Every year I do something a wee bit different.
Good morning! Omg I was so cold for you. Watching you ladies walk in all that snow. 😂 The earrings are beautiful. I loss my first born 2 years ago due to a traumatic brain injury. He was on his bike when this little old man flew my baby across the block. He did 8 months in the hospital. I was hoping to bring him home. But I loss him a week after his bday. I was only 16 when I had him he was my best friend. All that to say that I kept his watch and love to wear it to feel close to him. Also, when I see a butterfly I take it as a sign that he is near. ❤
I LOVE THE FAMILY MAAAAAANNN!!! I wish more people talked about how wonderful that movie is. My little family and I have a tradition of watching Home Alone on Christmas Eve and eating Mac 'n' cheese. I'm also trying to start a new tradition of celebrating winter solstice, yuletide. And the 12 days of christmas. Really trying to pull focus off the one day and go back to when every day was another type of celebration to get us through midwinter 😊
Oh yay! Yeah, it’s a random one that no one ever really talks about, but it’s become so comforting. Home alone and Mac and cheese! I love that! Winter solstice may be my fave. It’s so cozy without the busyness. I try to make a jam and Nutella star bread that I really hope to make and share here too!
I loved your walk in your neighborhood! Oh my gosh..I love the mugs you bought! I'm a mug girl too! And Prancer.....my all-time favourite Christmas movie!!! One of my favourite traditions since a little girl is listening to Conway Twitty and the Birds....was my Dad's favourite and now that I lost my Dad before Christmas last year its even that much more special❤🍍
Haha! I have a slight mug addiction. I will never stop. They just make me so happy! Awe, I am so sorry about your dad. Grief is so hard especially around Christmas. Hugs🥹
Large family Christmas Eve parties. Location changed every year but all the cousins and aunts and uncles were there. When I was18 I took my boyfriend and he said he was surprised everyone had made the Christmas presents. 🍍🍍🍍
That was what our Christmas eves at the farm looked like for me too! I’m an only child so it was always fun to see my cousins and stay up past midnight when we’d open presents! Handmade gifts? That’s wonderful!
🍍my two favorite Christmas traditions are 1. Getting a family game and a family movie every year. So we buy a board game/online game for the whole family every Christmas Day for us all to play ❤ and then buy a movie and sit and watch it together Christmas Day. It’s a lot of fun! 2. Having easy food Christmas Day. Usually something like pizza or lasagna or spaghetti. So I’m stil cooking good food but not spending all day in the kitchen like thanksgiving so I can spend the day having fun with them too!
Oh that’s fun! One year we got just dance and the sing one and played it off and on all day! So fun. Yes, the meal is a lot of work and takes so much time, but it wouldn’t be Christmas without the big meal…but I love that you do that…hmmm.
🍍🍍 Very cute video! Loved your earrings! I saw The Family Man just the ither day! So neat how the deer come right up to you! Used to love to go to my grandma's and cook and bake and visit with family 🌲🤗❤️🍍
Hi there, I am new to your channel and really enjoyed this video. I love that you included the deer eating from the feeder and looking into your window. We don't get snow where I live, here in California, so I always enjoy seeing neighborhoods blanketed in snow. The view from your window is so cozy and inviting and the walk downtown to the thrift store was cute to include. You can feel the love and warmth in your home. Thank you for sharing a very sweet glimpse of your lives. Traditions are fun and mine include having baking days with family and friends, and created hand painted holiday cards because both the cookies and hand painted cards are created straight from the heart! Happy holidays to you and your sweet little family.
🍍 Since my dad's passing 3 years ago, I started a new tradition of having my mom, daughter, daughter in law and 2 neices over for a Christmas crafting night. We've made paper stars, christmas cross stitch ornaments, and ceramic ornaments. This year, my mom will teach us how to make Norwegian lefse. It has been her tradition to make us lefse for as long as I can remember. Some day, I will have to take over the reigns and carry this tradition on. I love you 2 and your down to earth shenanigans 🎄
Oh that’s really beautiful! I had to google “lefse”, but they look a lot like what my grandma would make called polichinka (not sure of spelling) and are a Croatian crepe. Best with plum jam! Thank you for sharing that. It’s lovely. 🥰
Hi Erin & Clementine! ❄ I woke up to snow in Michigan today-so cozy! I enjoyed a delicious cup of cherry coffee while watching your video. Yum! Sorry the jam wasn’t “your jam” today, but isn’t that just like life? Those less-than-stellar moments make us savor the great ones even more. I absolutely loved the walk to the thrift store and the haul! Clementine, what if you embroidered some fun stitches over the arms or seams of the new sweater? It’s such a cool piece, and if you don’t like it, you can always undo it-could be fun to experiment! That knit shop in your town is amazing! Erin, those stripes are beautiful-simple yet elegant, especially with the scarves and earrings. You’ve truly mastered "romancing the ordinary." Also, what a sweet way to remember your friend with those earrings. As for traditions, here’s one of my favorites: We have five kids (yes, it’s a lot!), and every Christmas, Santa leaves mysterious letters with puzzles, riddles, and clues around the house-or even the whole town! It’s a magical scavenger hunt that leads to a “family present” at the end. The best part? The kids work together to solve the clues, and we all laugh and run around. It’s grown with us over the years and is so much fun! My advice: start planning early for the clues. By the way, are you on Ravelry? It’s a social media site for knitters-I think you’d love it! Thanks for another wonderful video! ❤ 🍍
Oh yay! We woke up to another snow day and I am not mad about it. We are planning on having a super cozy, slow vlogmas day for day 12 ❤️. That is such a fun tradition! It reminds me of going to the family cottage in the summers and “the grinch” would steal our bathing suits from the line and leave a trail of clues for us to find them again! So fun. That’s a very cool Christmas tradition! Thank you sharing it. Enjoy your cozy day ❤️
I’m an accessory girl too. Love the earrings today, especially because it reminds you of your friend. My favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve at my parents with all my sisters and our families. Delicious dinner and lots of presents. Chaos of the best kind!
I love baking Christmas cookies for family and friends and going to the church Christmas morning from 5 am until 830 am after church we are going home for hot soup and big dinner at 2 pm I really love holidays!!😊
Me too! It’s so nice to have that familiarity. My step mom always requested my buried cherry cookies every year because they were her fave…somehow they e just become Christmas cookies and I make them even though she is gone now ❤️
🍍Favorite tradition for me as a kid was going to my grandparents' house on Christmas Eve with our huge extended family. Favorite tradition with our own kids was having them open one present on Christmas Eve, which was always new jammies. I think they simply loved opening a present early, but they also loved a good pair of PJs.🥰
Christmas Eve was often that for us too. My step mom would always give them jammies to change into before we’d leave the farm and they’d go straight to bed from the car.
🍍Hey Guys…. A tradition that I loved was that as a family we spent all day together on Christmas Eve into the night. We watch movies, make family candy, and finger foods that we munch on all day into the night as we watch “Christmas Vacation “ and we take turns reading the Christmas story. That’s a lot I guess… Thanks Guys! Great haul!! ✌️🙂🎄
My favorite Christmas tradition is spending lots of time with grandchildren! Please let us know how the cottage pie turned out and did the family enjoy it.
🍍my newest favorite Christmas tradition is going to our daughter’s home where her husband makes the best omelettes. My grandchildren and children all join in and we have lots of time to talk and play with the new games and toys. We get together a lot over the holidays but this is the one that I don’t have to host
The last three years we have been doing the Book Flood (Jolabokaflod) it’s an Icelandic tradition where we exchange books with earth other. We always have yummy hot chocolate to go with it too - it’s really fun. Love the book card idea! 🍍
Yay! I’m the first to view! Starting now! 🍞☕️❤ 🍍 Our Christmas Tradition is our “Christmas Luncheon” started by my grandmother. Finger sandwiches, veggies, chips and dip. Plus sweets and goodies. We never miss a year of doing this! We always think of her.
Thank you Erin ❤ Your Vlogs are Lovely... Today I had a huge tug on my Heart Strings when I saw the name of Thrift Store, My Mother's name is Lily & My Sister's name is Ann both No longer with us as they both passed away...Was A Wonderful reminder of them. Scarves were made for you especially the colours in the one you wore today "Beautiful" 💕
🍍I love this time of year: the story of Hope, the food, gathering with loved ones, but I love the music and sparkly lights (both indoor and outdoor) the best!
🍍 . The Christmas baking is my favourite tradition. I look forward to making the same cookies and chocolate covered cherries every year. I enjoy your channel very much . Greetings from Alberta!
It’s so nice to hear from someone in Alberta! I love the tradition of baking too. I make birdied cherry cookies every year because my step mom loved them and now that she’s passed, I still make them because they’ve become essential Christmas cookies now!
🍍 A sort of new tradition, I'd say the last 6 or 7 years, my husband and I (empty nesters) watch a different Christmas movie each day all month long. Also since Christmas 2020 my family and I have done a 12 day Christmas advent exchange. We draw names a year before so we can take advantage of after Christmas sales. :) So we make up 12 bags for the person that we have and get it to them before Dec 13 because that is when we start opening them. It's fun and everyone loves it. They aren't big gifts, just little things. Hand lotion, scarf, etc. We also share videos of us opening each day in our family group chat :) We are scattered all over and not all living in the same area.
That’s a fun idea! We watch a lot of Christmas movies every year…some new, but mostly old faves! That’s a fun way to celebrate with distant family members for sure! Very clever!
Prancer! I love that movie and so glad you showed a clip in your video. I don't even know if my Chromebook has emojis or I would put the pineapple up. Great thrift finds. Until tomorrow, take care!
🍍 I really love Lucia day, and that is tomorrow…We Bake luciabuns for breakfast….. we watch the kids with candles singing, it is so pretty……our youngest fosterkid walked Lucia today with her kindergarten……it was so fine, and she did the singing so beautiful…….❤
🍍 Hi, Christmas tradition when I was a kid; eating beef dripping on toast Christmas morning. 😋 my husband and kids think that's disgusting so we don't do that now.🤣 love your cozy vibes.❤
Haha! Not gonna lie, that sounds a little 😬😉…it’s so funny what little quirky we do as families…for instance, we put gravy on our coleslaw and it’s divine, but makes my husband gag 😂. I think you should bring the tradition back!
I just found your charming Vlog and I’m so glad I did! I am a knitter and it popped up so I clicked on it honestly because I thought you were just so cute! Which you are! Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter and your family traditions as an olderwoman with no family nearby. It warms my heart to watch things like this. I love the idea of giving children’s books instead of a card. What a great idea! Thank you for what you’re doing. I will keep watching. Laura and Kentucky.❤
Oh thank you so much for your kind words, Laura! You've made my day 🥰 I seem to have been popular with the knitting community and now I’m even sadder that I can’t actually knit…only crochet 😂…maybe I should keep trying 😉. Thank you for being here 🥰
@ I also watched an episode where you talked about weaning off of antidepressants and the stigma. Some people feel about taking them. There was a time in my life when everything was shall we say going to hell I went to see my physician, broke down in tears and he said it seems like you’re the one that needs help not these other people. I started taking antidepressants and it got me through that period of my life. I feel like if you had a broken bone or laceration people would never judge you for treating it. So what’s the difference? If you have something broken, you still need to treat it. I am no longer on any antidepressants and haven’t been for years. Life is good. You do what you have to do. Maybe you have said in another episode but I’m curious what part of the country you live in. The snow you get is beautiful!
@@59lauralou oh I absolutely agree with you and the attitudes are getting a lot better around it for sure. We live in a little cottage country town in Ontario, Canada!
🍍 Every Christmas I watch the many film versions there have been of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol even Disney has a version....and then the many of Scrooge movies too... My favorie is with George C. Scott As Ebenezer Scrooge.... I miss family traditions growing up with my grandparents and my mom that are no longer here but I keep those memories so close to my heart ....makes me a bit sad this time of year . I so miss her traditional Christmas recipes ...The Feast of the Seven Fishes Christmas Eve tradition , Struffoli Italian Honey Balls were a must every Christmas, roasting chestnuts , and baking the many cookies ...thumb prints, buckeyes, Italian knots and Pizzelles .... ok my mouth is watering...lol Just to let you know your Vlogmas brings me JOY watching you and Clementine I am a bit suprise you havent had a Clementine jam in the advent calendar yet ...now that would be sweet ....
Oh wow, that sounds incredible! I’m sorry it makes you a little sad. I’ve heard it said that grief is just love with nowhere to go. Sending you hugs. I am so honoured that you enjoy my videos. It truly means so much to me that you’re here ❤️
My Christmas traditions are no longer traditions. Since we all live far apart, I had this urge to have one big Christmas with all my kids and grandkids. But now I loss my son and I didn’t get my wish. But we try to do the best we can when we can. ❤Tyfs~ your daughter is the cutest! 🍍
This was a different (watch) for me. I have so much going on with RJ moving out and spending time with her before she leaves. I actually listened to this with my headphones as I laid in bed and it was comforting and although I wanted to see some of what you spoke on, there was comfort in hearing your familiar voice. ❤❤
🍍 Honestly...my favorite part of the Christmas celebrations are ALL the days leading up to the actual Christmas Day!!! I feel a little let down on Christmas Day because then the fun is over. 😂 Kind of like letting your Monday ruin your Sunday!😂😂😂
A tradition I love every season is watching Emmett Otters Jug Band Christmas! It's so silly but I just adore it! How did the cottage pie taste? Please share the recipe if it was delish! 😆 I also have a couple pairs of earrings from your friend that I cherish! She made beautiful earrings! 💛🍍
I’m sure we got a book of that! I will get the kids to find it today. I think they’d like it. Awe! I thought about that afterwards! Some of you may know Kira. A fox got one of our beautiful buff Orpington chickens and I donated the remaining feathers to her earring biz so she made me a pair to say thank you. So special.
They’re quite simple, really…you just need stainless steel earring hoops and a little spiral connector and she used clear nail polish to attach them. They have held up so well over the years!
They’re pretty simple, I’m just not sure why I didn’t get more air holes in mine. Will have to try again. I will have to look again for the first recipe I tried to see if it’s a little different
What state do u live in that the wild deer will walk up to you and not kick the fire out of you. lol I live in Akansas and in the country but for one our deer are wild they will run if they even see u far a way. lol I love the scenery. TFS
Haha they are pretty used to people in this area! I’m glad you love the scenery. We actually live in Ontario, Canada- a tiny town in cottage country. They’re quite docile. I have even hand fed the large bucks. The only time I would avoid them is during the rut…the bucks are nuts and the does and fawns are so high strung from being chased by them.
Hello Erin, I have been watching and enjoying your videos. I mostly watch knitting videos so I think UA-cam mistakenly recommended your channel the day you were trying to knit but I got hooked and stayed 😂 I came for the knitting but stayed for your hair 😂Please hand wash that cool sweater you found for Clementine. Just lay flat to dry. If it’s real wool, it will felt in the washing machine 😬
Hello! And I’m so glad you accidentally found me and stuck around!! That video seems to have brought many new faces here! I’m not sure it’s real wool, but I will definitely be careful with it 🥰
I’m new here…just found you. Enjoying your Vlogmas sooooo much! I’m wondering were you live, beautiful. And I have a question about your beautiful ring, do you offer where you got it?! Thanks 🎄
Yay! So glad you’re here! We live in a tiny town in cottage country Ontario, Canada🍁🇨🇦. The crow ring? It’s my fave. I bought it on a Black Friday sale years ago from an Etsy seller…not sure she is still active there, but I can check.
🍍🍍another lovely visit with you and Clemmie! 🎄🎅🏼👍🎁🤗❤️
My favourite tradition is the family meal … and a walk after the meal together ❤️❤️❤️
We do make a mean meal 😉. And an evening walk especially if it’s snowing!

🍍 my favorite is loading all the kids in the car and driving around looking at Christmas lights.
Nice! I love that!
🍍I love this time of year: the story of Hope, the food, gathering with loved ones, but I love the music and sparkly lights (both indoor and outdoor) the best!
What’s not to love?! 😉👌🏼
🍍A tradition that is a favorite of mine is watching A Christmas Story and eating Chinese food on Christmas Day! 🎄🥡🥢❤
Oh my gosh! That’s a wonderful combo! I love it! 🥡🎄. Now I need to watch it immediately ❤️
🍍 i love our annual Christmas Eve party with our family friends after church.
Oh that’s so fun!
We begin a Christmas puzzle Thanksgiving night and put in the last piece on Christmas Eve.
Oh I love that! We love a good puzzle here too 👌🏼
Wow I love
that idea😊next year for sure. Love puzzles. Happy Hollidays. 😊
It’s the most magical movie! It just makes me weep every time.
Haha! That’s ok! It’s still counts 😉
Have a wonderful evening.
🍍driving around looking at christmas lights
Love it!
Oops! I forgot 🍍I Love The Christmas Music 🎵🎶🎼 & The film Elf 💚
@@sallylunamoth5542 that is such a good one!
Oh wow! I don’t think I’ve heard of it, but it sounds really beautiful 🥹❤️
❤️⛄🎄 another amazing festive vlog once again your a ⭐ in the making on yt God bless you 🙏
Awe! Well, let’s hope you’re right about that! 😉😊
@@the.ellemars 🤞 enjoy the rest of your day ❤️🎄I will 💯% be right
@the.ellemars 🤞 I will be keep doing what you are doing ❤️
🍋 I couldn’t find a pineapple 😂. We go bowling on Christmas Eve afternoon with the family! So much fun!
Haha! Oh that’s a fun tradition!
🍍 , wearing pj's all day and playing games and ending the day with watching movies
Yes! So good ❤️
🍍 Every Christmas I watch the many film versions there have been of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol even Disney has a version....and then the many of Scrooge movies too...
It truly means so much to me that you’re here ❤️
🍍 My favorite Christmas tradition is going to a Christmas tree farm to cut down our own tree 🌲
Oh that’s so nice! We’ve never gone to a tree farm, but it looks like a lot of fun.
Oh I’m so sorry for your loss. Christmas feels different when we miss someone, especially a child. I can’t even imagine. Sending you so much love. ❤️

Yay!
This was a different (watch) for me. I have so much going on with RJ moving out and spending time with her before she leaves. I actually listened to this with my headphones as I laid in bed and it was comforting and although I wanted to see some of what you spoke on, there was comfort in hearing your familiar voice. ❤❤
It's so nice to hear that it brought you some comfort! 🥰
🍍 Honestly...my favorite part of the Christmas celebrations are ALL the days leading up to the actual Christmas Day!!! I feel a little let down on Christmas Day because then the fun is over. 😂 Kind of like letting your Monday ruin your Sunday!😂😂😂
Haha! I get that feeling for sure! I think I love the lead up more than the actual day sometimes.
🍍🍍
Yay!
🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍
Thank you!
Nice video Merry Christmas
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
🍍 hi from the UK, mine is having roast ham and jacket potatoes on Christmas eve. X
Hello! I’m so happy to have to you here ❤️
🍍
Thank you!
🍍We would gather around after dinner (17 of us) and my daughter would read a story. You could hear a pin drop.
Oh wow, that sounds so peaceful and special!
Our tradition is to watch National Lampoon Christmas Vacation.🍍
It's a classic!
So special.
Those earrings are gorgeous on you love ❤️
Thank you!! They are so comfy too
wow, what beautiful earrings, show how you made them
They’re quite simple, really…you just need stainless steel earring hoops and a little spiral connector and she used clear nail polish to attach them. They have held up so well over the years!
Woohoo! I'm the second to see your video 🤗🌲❤️
Yay! Thank you! Ha!
I really enjoy your videos. One question what sort of size are the neck scarves you use?
Hmm, they vary…some are small (12”?)and some are 24”-36” I would say. Square ones are my fave though
Id like to try to make crumpets.. never had. Is there anything I need to know? Good recipe tips?
