This was performed during an online worship service actually. It was done during the pandemic lockdown restrictions. A few members of the band are part of a Christian music organization > Musicians on Fire here in the Philippines.
I'm glad you saw the tightening of her jaw, she was getting emotional during the performance since it was for worship services.
I first saw Gigi covering through the fire, Chaka Kahn. I had no idea she did worship songs.
I truly wish that most worship songs at church were at least sung in tune. I just cringe constantly hearing notes all over the place.
If worship singers could take a lesson from Gigi, there’d be a lot more parishioners looking forward to worship.
I learned quite a bit about the construction of a worship song here today.

Great analysis as always! They did sing a few Christian songs. That's what's so good about Gigi is that she can sing a worship song, then Unholy, & Love The Way You Lie. She has so many sides to her personality. Pls chk out her cover of Adele's ALL I ASK. Thanks Dr Dan!
Another great review of a great singer. Personally, I think any song that Gigi covers becomes HER song. Nothing against the OG singers, of course! But Gigi just always brings it to the next level. And kudos to that fabulous band as well. As for this particular song, they did it PERFECTLY. Perfection all around. 😊

Gigi is religious and starts her day with a prayer. I'm not religious but this beautiful performance made a spiritual connection. She's most emotional and serious when it's about the Highest One. I always end up listening to her for hours.

The snare sound most probably is a limitation of electric drum sound kits. There is only so much an electric drum can imitate, but can't really exactly imitate the sound of an actual snare, especially that specific snare sound you usually hear from contemporary worship bands, which is tighter, fuller, and heavier in sound.

Gigi is amazing as always. Don't really care for religious songs or anything else about religion.
These videos put out by TriTone studios, produced and audio engineered by Gigi's collaborator, Erwin Lacsa, are completely pitch corrected. You are not hearing her actual voice as she sings it, so I don't see how you can judge, let alone praise what she does. That's her choice to put it out this way, but perhaps you can find some sources that do not employ this type of digital manipulation to really be able to judge her singing.

hahaha sorry this clip was done during online worship service during pandemic, when gigi is on the zone she is so great, even during her live streaming she needs to build up the momentum and when she reaches the zone a clip of worthy of broadcast will surely be produced. this was done in her early days when she started live streaming after her short lived showbiz carrier was cut short by the pandemic lock down.
@@maxwellmalig-on4296 I guess I hadn't an examined this particular one until just now. It definitely seems like it has maybe only light pitch correction, as do a number of them around that time, compared to the heavy robotic sound they started implementing a little later. Don't they know they are ruining her vocals when they replace them with synthetic tones?
