I don't think people should be telling others to use feelings as an indication of God. Feelings change like a current, and often lead people astray. I've heard of a lot of people fall away from faith because they build their foundation upon the unstable ground of their fleshly feelings. Wasn't there a prominent Christian singer that made news by leaving the faith? Wasn't it a guy from Hillsong?. And the reasons he gave were so basic and elementary level stuff that he should had figured out upon coming to faith. That's what can often happen when you build you faith off of feelings that you get from songs, without diving into the Word and understanding the principles and identity of God.
