My favourite role is Solutions Architect.
My favorite role is Cloud Architect. Thanks for explaining what it's all about. I have been trying to understand what Cloud Architect generally do.
@@bolutifeAkinola hi can we network?
I'm coming from a customer service/network support role so I would have to say cloud network/support engineer👍👍
Cloud Architect
My favorite cloud role is the one that pays the highest salary
Until you have to work 80 hours a week to complete the tasks. I work in Cloud and for a company who handles a lot of Cloud services. The Architects are the highest paid, and trust me, they should be paid that way. You need to have a lot of knowledge about all infrastructure, and can be asked any question about ANYTHING. They also work long hours customizing architecture for customers and are on non-stop calls. It’s not an easy gig
@@yanksbroncs413 understood, thanks for the insight. I have more of an interest in data analytics and web development.
😂
@@yanksbroncs413which one is better cloud architect or cloud engineer?
@@mystical_encounter They are completely different roles. The Cloud Architect usually listens to customer problems/needs, and designs the best solution for them. The Cloud Engineer usually does the actual implementation of that design, or if on the customer side, is essentially the admin on the environment (day to day resource involvement)
Great explanation! I have finished my cloud certification course through AWS and now preparing for the exam. Lucy has been very helpful in learning and motivating ❤.
I passed the CCP 2 weeks ago and now studying for the SAA. The SA role is something I'm interested in because of the customer interaction and design. Thank you for the great explanation!
Congrats!! 👏
Hi Lucy
I love your insightful explanations, they are always well researched and clear.
I cannot stress how many other youtubers cannot cut to the chase, unlike you.
BTW the fact that you are an insider to a major firm is the icing on the cake.
Great info.
Lucy! Loads of great information. I love how your videos are short, concise and straight to the point.
Thanks for encouraging feedback!!
I've recently got a position actively using AWS and it is really complicated and there are loads of things to learn. You're amazing and this channel is a gem :)
Did you have a tech background? I'm new to the IT world, but I'm working on getting a few certifications now. What advice would you give on where to start?
@@Hello-816 hmm I doubt I'm the right person. Probably you may know a lot more than me because I haven't actually studied AWS services but only touched a few of them.
But IMHO what matters most is experience and skill, especially when it comes to Devops things like AWS. I wish I know more about design patterns and SQL rather than data structures and algorithms. I barely use any O(n) things or dynamic programming but design pattern concepts and DB queries.
But this is just my opinion and there are way more ways to become a SWE. And still it is important to learn DSA to pass coding interviews... Yeah but I think the most important thing is to figure out what you want to achieve with your IT career.
@@sungjuyea4627 Thank you for responding.
Hey Lucy! I heard that the cloud support engineer career can be stressful since everyday is like a new day but this is what appeals to me the most. I'm currently learning about working in the cloud on A Cloud Guru. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for breaking this down and making it easy to understand!
Glad the format is helpful!
Hi Lucy, thank you for doing this video. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Can you please make a video about how to start with the SDR role?. Thank you.
Thank You! love you channel learning alot of useful information my favorite role is Cloud support
Excellent, succinct videos to help get acquainted with solutions and cloud engineering!
Hello Lucy, I got my AWS SysOps Associate Certification today with 785/1000 marks. So I am so happy. Thank you very much for your guidance.
Amazing work!!! Congratulations! 🎉🥳
Congratulations Leon. Did you take the Cloud Practitioner Certification before taking the SysOps
What are the company to work for entry level with a AWS Cloud Practitioner Certificate and no computer degree
Thank you for breaking everything down. New sub for sure
Hey what's up Lucy! Good to see u! Thank you so much for this important video! I'm about to take the SAA exam next month and then LAB LAB LAB to get ready for the cloud workforce. This video gives me a great baseline of salary ranges and a great resource to keep track of the salaries here in the U.S. And I must say, these numbers are quite nice! Well once again, thank you for all that you do for us and I'll see you in the next one! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Cheers!!!
Thanks for sharing Lucy! I just had a thought which is that it seems like Solutions Architect seems to combine the technical expertise of the Cloud Architect along with the ability to understand customer need (which is more of a sales skill). Must be interesting work :)
Thank you for the nice explaination. It would be nice to know the preparation path for the cloud architect.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I was surprise to learn the account managers make more than the other roles. I need to reach out to our account manager more often lol!
Cloud sales roles are very underrated in my opinion!
In the U.S. these salaries may overlap depending on both the company and the state. The sources I've used put the range a bit lower on some of the titles mentioned here. Also, average salary assumes you have been doing it a while. Therefore, it's not likely what a newbie or entry-level employee will earn. In some cases, the bigger the company, the better the salary. Some cases. Even the big companies will low ball you. Learn how to negotiate and leverage your training, experience, and education.
Thanks for the insight Lucy!
No worries, thanks for watching!
Amazing content aaaaaas usual 😃. Keep going Lucy!!
This was very helpful I'm trying to build my career in cloud and hope to become like you one day ❤ thank you
Hi Lucy. Love your videos. Many blessings to you
SDR is an entry level role. SDRs don't make even close to 140K a year. 140K a year is for seasoned sales reps with at least 10 years experience. In San Francisco - one of the most expensive cities to live in - SDRs make about $50K a year. You must be in this role for at least two years before being considered for a full time sales representative role. Full time sales representatives make between 80 to 90K a year before being promoted to higher margin accounts and sales reps can be in this role for many years.
Hey Lucy, Thanks for all the insights and experiences you've shared.
I would like to become a solutions architect,. Thanks
Thank you Lucy for all your hard work ❤. I have a request. Can you please make a video on remote cloud job options?
I always enjoy watching your videos. I am a cloud Engineer
Great video!!
Hi Lucy, there are lots of security services in Aws. But sometimes it's creating a confusion that which security services stands for particularly operation, so please make a one video where u explain the Security services only
hello Lucy this is great information here that you're sharing. I'm wondering what level of education would one need for these positions? I'm quite sure this would vary based on the position or the company. Do you know if there is a cert that one could get for a one of these positions? Any info would be provided will be appreciated. thanks again for sharing. Update: After checking your channel i see that you do have info on the certifications but would one still need a BA to land one these positions? thanks again
I like your thorough explanations i.e. Solutions Architect = Customer Engineer, etc. Thanks!
Glad it helped! 😊😊
Hey Lucy. I recently followed your channel. Thanks for all the insights and experiences you've shared.
I would like to become a solutions architect. I plan to pass the SAA, DA, SysOP and SA Pro exams. If I am doing all the AWS certs and personal projects, what's the chance of getting a job as a SA? Or do most people start from the bottom?
AWS cloud engineers for the win!! Coming from Ethical H4cking and conducting pen tests this has been a positive change.. also nice thing about the cloud services they are only going to grow :)
i follow all your videos, can u please make a playlist on hands on Labs with different AWS services and projects from beginner to Advance.
Great video Lucy. Thanks very much
Thank youu 😄
@@TechwithLucy gradually studying for my Solutions Architect Associate exams 🔥
Lucy, if you can, could you interview someone who works in a Cloud Provider but more focused on Networking, like with routing protocols, traffic engineering, etc... Because this is my area and I'm very curious to see how their day-by-day looks like, thank you!
Good suggestion!! Thank you 😄
Yes!!! That would be an excellent interview for me as well!😊
Great video! I’m currently learning python and would like to transition to AWS Cloud Architect. I have 10 years of IT experience in networking.
Hi Lucy, thanks a bunch for this insightful explanation.
Glad it helps!
@@TechwithLucy could u please advise on real-life projects materials that could help in having hands-on in Solutions architect practices
Thanks Lucy.. this is exactly the kind of video I needed...I am on my way to get the Solutions architect Associate certification..already spent around 90 hrs studying..
So glad you explain that both tech + soft skills are needed...hopefully I can join the industry soon!
Thanks for doing what you do
Glad it’s helpful!! Feel free to let me know what other videos you’d like to see 😄
Did you ever get into the industry?
Update - I got my certification, no I haven't been able to get into the industry but...never say never!
@@AlbertoGonzalez-hi1og Hell yeah! Keep on going!
@AlbertoGonzalez-hi1og how's it going?
Hello Lucy, first, thank you so much for your videos, they are really enlightening.
I know you may be a bit biased due to your association with AWS, but I wish to have your sincere opinion.
I heard Azure is more in demand out there, rather than AWS. Please what do you have to say about this?
Thank you.
Hi Lucy,
First this video was amazing and so smooth to watch. Lots of great information. My wife is interested in becoming a Cloud Engineer and although she is technical she does not have a resume to showcase these skills. Any suggestions on a certification roadmap for someone trying to break in the field?
Thank you! Glad it helps :) And yes!! I have a video on this exact topic: ua-cam.com/video/fgbdtNNXR0U/v-deo.html
I'm EARLYYY - thanks Lucy
Yayy thanks the support! 😊
Hey Lucy thanks for the video, can you make a video on AWS Assessment exam for topics like how to prepare some study materials, just a guide video on how to crack AWS Assessment. Thanks
Love your content.
Thanks!! 🙌
Hi Lucy Great Job! As a business Analyst transitioning into Cloud...with an AWS Associate Solution Architect Certification I think Solution Architect will be a great role for me!! or what do you think?
Great stuff. For me Solutions Architect is a great fit. With experience in B2B customer relations, I think I can use those skills in my career as SA. Thanks.
Awesome! Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for sharing Lucy, I had no idea about the differences among these areas, now it more clear for me and the 5th one, Cloud Support Engineer looks like the one more exited as I love to be involved in troubleshooting and solving problems.
Glad it helped!! 😁
Saw your linked in post and commenting on both
Hey Lucky I was just looking for a Solutions Architect Associate exam voucher which would be very helpful for me .
Hi Lucy, would certifications in these things allow us to only work at Amazon? Or would having Amazon aws certification allow us to work else where?
Very well explained @TechWithLucy .
Quick Question : What is the avarage salary for a AWS Developer with the DEv certification

Thanks Lucy!
Thanks for watching!
Very informative video. Can you please shed some light on the YOY average increment percentage in salary of a cloud architect/solutions architect
Thank you Lucy for the vivid description & what to expect from the jobs. But to work in AWS, is green card or citizenship a must?? Can a person who’s an alien authorized to work get certified & ACTUALLY land a job ???
I was searching for what want i in You Tube , then i got your your channel that exactly what i am looking it. its really impressed explanation. i am on way taking course for AWS, then now i know want i want be after the course. thanks for the brief explanation, specially the difference between the two SA .
Hey lucy, could you make a video to talk a bit about the cloud developer path? Thanks
I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to focus my education/certifications in Azure or AWS, got any tips or videos on how to make that decision?
I'm doing all 5 of them. 8 roles to be exact.
Sadly, we're short of staff currently. So i just had to do it. From sysadmin support, SRE, SA, gitops, operation technical manager, delivery manager. Through not officially being titled as "cloud", i do cover all these areas from cloud to on premises setups. Huge projects just keep coming. i have no time to look for other opportunities.
Everyone has their own circumstances. I just hope i can get out of this hole somehow.
I have 4 years customer support experience. Which role should i pursue?
Thank you
I spent 10 years in managed services and now currently work as a database engineer for jail mgmt software. The last 4 yrs of msp work also included cloud support, so I'm either going into the infrastructure side or likely a Solutions architect
What do Microsoft call their cloud SA’s?
Hi Lucy. Can you provide more info and evidence regarding the salary range you mentioned for account managers? That's really surprising
Solutions Architect is my deal. When working on this area in AWS can you work remote or you need to be in the office?

I haven’t came across coursecareers before but definitely looking to make a course!
lucy your contents are the key to motivate me in cloud journey.but i am new to IT some of the basics i dont know examples networking,security,etc..should i take ccna a+ certificate first after wards i need learn aws solution architect ?? would u please help which cource to take for aws solution architect
Ia currently a Tier 3 Network Specialist. The cloud support engineer sounds like the best fit based on experience. What do you think?
Can you also comment about cloud technical service leader role.. what would be the growth option?
What about Cloud Administrator (Cloud Engineer) who responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of cloud computing environments within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure and services.
Also Cloud Developer, Cloud Database engineer , Cloud Security, ... etc
Suggestion for video: How to figure out which AWS service (EC2, Lambda, Lighsail, Fargate, etc) is the most suitable for each kind of website with examples. Aws has so many options I get totally lost there... it would be helpful if they add examples in the Docs.
Thanks for the suggestion! That’s a good idea

Hi Lucy! Thanks for the wonderful videos you upload for us.
I have two questions on behalf of my friend -
1. Can he (30 YO and a sales manager at a Financial services company in India) transition into a cloud role in tech by learning AWS and getting the certifications ?
2. What is the usual time-frame that people to consume the educational material, get certified before they are able to find entry level roles?
Some more background - He doesn't have a B.Tech. He hails from a B.Com & MBA (in Marketing & HR background) and has a work experience of 5.3 Years in Sales & Accounts/Admin roles in early part of his career.

I want to become a Cloud Engineer but also want to provide Solutions Architecht and have a lil bit of Exposure to DevOps
Both solutions and cloud architect sounds attractive.
I graduated last year with an Associates in Cloud Computing, and currently hold my AWS SAA cert and working towards my Terraform cert. Every job posting wants a masters or 10+ years experience. Any tips on how to land your first job in the CC world?
I don't have any of that I'm a cloud API engineer. ^jaythebiggest
I am SDR for a Amazon Partner in India. Thanks for this video. It's not technical role but it's most difficult to influence CXO to opt for AWS since they are premium priced.. Please make video of AWS vs On Prem server with respect to Networking, Security etc. There is no video on this comparison and advantages of AWS.
