I'm not buying the protagonist. Why is he afraid of white people? Half his family tree is white. He gets "biracial privilege," he's gotten the benefit of adjacency to white people all his life. He was raised in a suburb, not the hood. If they wanted to tell a story about him having a hard life as a black man, they needed to start that movie with his own family. That might have been a better movie. Most biracial people don't even identify as black. He wasn't a wimp because of racism, he was a wimp all on his own.
How am I supposed to have sympathy for a half-white guy competing with a white man for a half-white woman? Nothing special about that.

I can understand what you are saying. As a matter of fact I had not considered this from that perspective. Its a darn interesting one and in the real world has relevance. The movie fails at sooo many opportunities a real shame actually. The subject is one that could have really been expanded but for whatever the reason never gets there. You are spot on about Aaron being afraid of white people.
