Been a metal guitarist for more than thirty years having done all the usual stuff,- the Neo-Classical, the Phrygian (" middle-eastern - oriental ") scales, the sweeping and the tapping,- you name it. Got only four things to say: This is some serious next level shit ! I like it! :) Keep it up. More!
Yo peeps Josh from MTS here. I just wanted to give y'all the insight that this is not the final mix of this song for the album! You will get a cleaner more polished, overall version when the the album comes out. Ok thanks for your time and rock on!
Hey Josh. Really digging the direction you are taking here. I am currently studying east asian music at university and recently covered hindustani and carnatic music in one of my classes. Would I be right to guess that the traditions in those styles have had influence on the bands writing process? Cheers from Canada
The music from 4:07 to 4:45 brought me to tears as it represents the lowest phase any person can go in depression , person suffering just wants a assuring voice that you can survive but what does he get being judged everywhere where he doesn't want . I went through same phase were just didn't wanted to be judged .
This has became one of my favorite bands of this year i cant have his disc or ep because im cuban and cant buy or download but only seeing this videos on youtube calm my heart, one day in the future if we cubans can buy music on the internet i will buy all their releases.
Don't listen to the haters! Not everyone can embrace the serenity in Indian classical music. For us metalheads who also like the same, this is the shizzz!
Indian bands are intelligent. The western world cannot admit it. Respect to all the Indian bands for playing the music they believe. At least our bands play music till the end no matter what
I remember I was an undergrad when I first heard this. My friend and I had one of the greatest mind-altering experiences from watching the video when I returned back home from uni for the holidays
WOOOOW!!! WHERE HAS THIS MUSIC BEEN ALL THIS WHILE??!! there are people out there who sync with music like this!!! This is a MASTERPIECE! just keep rocking you guys!!
Very interesting, you're taking a music genre known for it's rhythmic and melodic complexity and lack of moving harmony and mixing it with metal. You then get interesting choices, such as lots of unison passages and having the guitar be primarily rhythmic by just hitting the tonic. Then when their is harmonic movement it creates an interesting change. I am curious how many people saying negative things in the comments have actually listened to an entire raga that lasts for over an hour.
Music is a process, not a product. This is a truly amazing process. If you look at any legendary musician, they never sprout forth fully formed. Many people will offer critiques, and they may hold some valuable insights, but make sure to incorporate that information into the process; don't let that information stop the process. :-)
This is kind of comment I was looking for. As a guitarist, I think this is definitely not as good as it could be based on my taste and what I would think I would do as a sitarist or with a sitar in my band, but I also know nothing about sitar, and I think mostly no one else does as well. Mute the Saint is truly innovative.
man I love this. great job. nectar.... truly the nectar. those who really didn't find it good or interesting, you guys are little kids to stay away from experimentation. grow up people
and it's ok if sitar is loud here because it's not electronic or digital sound. it's a raw & natural sound of sitar. no pedals, no distortion, no overdrive, just the original traditional sound. that's how it's supposed to be.
I wanted a band which gave me of both worlds and due to my terse musical background didnt know any. However I can now proudly say I got one that I might have been looking for. Great work! Looking forward to more creative stuff from you guys...
I really love some of the ideas in this song. I'm still not very used to the sound of the sitar though, but maybe I will get more used to it in the future :)
Incredible stuff. Really don't know where all the negative comments are coming from. A very interesting take. Rishabh is a phenomenal sitar player and this band is fresh, interesting and does not follow the norms.
amazing stuff..was thinking to myself few years back... why hasnt any indian metal band come up with a lineup that has an indian instrument...looking forword to some more amazing shit from u guys and respect for thinking outta the box... cheers
I want all to know !!! This has just blew my fucking mind away !! Got their album !! Getting t shirts soon !!! Let's headbang on some neo classical shit \m/
fantastic tune, wow, this is how scars really sound..and this artwork is really part of the healing process.. Oh, how much I miss such asian and oriental sounds in western world and music.
Guys, if you don't like the music just pick another video, there are thousands. No need to be mean with this band or with any other band. The world is full of assholes, so for once we could make the difference, be nice. =)
I have always enjoyed traditional Indian music, but in limited amounts. I had no idea what to expect before I watched this clip. The skill it must take to play like that! I think I need to listen to this a few more hundred times, just to wrap my head around it!
@Mute the Saint: Guys HATS FUCKING OFF!! You have combined two of the most sonically powerful sounds of music there is according to me. The element of light in the sitar and the element of darkness of metal. The combination is an aural explosion of badassery. About all the comments spewed out here I do hope you guys take a songwriting direction that bands like Haken and the Contortionist are at now. They according to me are the spearheads of the progressive generation. I am saying this only because I see the immense potential that you guys have. Keep making beautiful music guys. Hope to see you in pune soon and share the stage with you some day. \m/ Adethya
I've listened to this a few times now that mellow breakdown at 4.06 with those sitar meends and guitar chords is just fanbloodytastic. after that I would've like to have heard the guitar doing the lead line into the next part of the song.
This band sounds awesome. I haven't heard shit like this in a long time. But they sound like more of a technical, neoclassical metal band than a prog metal band to me. BTW, I don't understand why people are against the sitar driven sound. Its sounds awesome!
Very nice, Raag shree na? Rishabh Seen, Keep it up. What can I say? Keep it up, and if mini me can offer anything, it would be to think more, work more and make more beautiful work for us. Thank you.
Dudes, you guys are amazing! If you ever come to Alberta, Canada I would love to play a show with you guys! Cheers & Love from Me (Meatpie) and Brown Dwarf
Stunned at all the negativity. First of all, music is subjective and for anyone into metal but especially into extreme metal, remember that a lot of you will be used to people who don't like metal screwing up their noses and saying how shit death metal or grindcore is and how the vocals are awful and how it sounds monotonous etc. Given the prejudice that people have about the genre, one would think that metalheads listening to this could understand the word 'subjective' when judging this and realise that just because it's not their thing, it doesn't mean that it is rubbish. On the other hand, I think that musicians should let the music do the talking and rise above negative comments. I enjoyed it and would be interested to see how it progresses as I like hearing new instruments introduced into metal.

I like it! :)
Keep it up.
More!
The scale or raga used in this song is called puriya dhanashree. Wonderfully presented. This happens when metal and India raga music combines
thank you, i was scrolling dwn comments to see if anyone has mentioned the raag! v helpful :)
I like this chemical reaction 😁
Stay at it Rishabh, you're doing good work. Love how you're representing the sound of Sitar in a different way! Cheers!
Love your music, Tushar. This is like one legend praising another. Awesome.
Can you recommend this to Osr?
@@arpanworld2 I'm sorry but what is Osr?
Big fan sir patiently awaiting Sifar mode 2
I don't understand the negativity towards this. It's unique and interesting and sounds really cool with the sitar.
I just loved it... The sitar sounded metal, nor forced. Pretty intense... The guy has the right spirit... I would love to see them live...
Yo peeps Josh from MTS here. I just wanted to give y'all the insight that this is not the final mix of this song for the album! You will get a cleaner more polished, overall version when the the album comes out. Ok thanks for your time and rock on!
Josh Seguin thank my dude.

I’ve been waiting years to hear a sitar in metal. Love what you wrote. Great musicianship. Thank you. I love it. 👊

Coming back Always. To this masterpiece.
This is what I call the power of universe chaos. It is sinister, powerful and raw. Thats what I love about it.
I remember I was an undergrad when I first heard this. My friend and I had one of the greatest mind-altering experiences from watching the video when I returned back home from uni for the holidays

hi sirji
Awesome...... We can see here that if u learn carnatic classical then u can play at kind of music, genre..... etc...... Although I'm a little biased

Bahut sundar
Que c'est agréable ! C'est vraiment une super découverte ! J'ADORE ! Que dire du son de la sitare qui, je trouve, se marie très bien au métal !
@4:54 breakdown is lit af🔥
Sounds Sick! \m/
LOVELY ! Bohut soundar hai
so awesome!
Play at .75 with headphones
GOOSEBUMPS!
brilliant concept..something different. I actually wanted to form a band like this with a sitar/violin lead.
Most metal bores me in its conservatism. This did not, well done!
Listen to prog metal bands then, or power metal, if you don't like heavy, thrash, black or death
Excellent 🤘
This is amazinggg 😍
I can die in peace now... thank you
is the intro from Raag Puriya Dhanashree?/Raag Shree?
too much negative comments, stay strong, i saw you guys once at pec chandigarh, show got cancelled, keep up the good work \m/
