Thats the idea ladies and gents. Music is a reflection of ones soul not just something you can piece together like some "musicians" have you believe. Music is life.
This is a definition of a FANTASTIC cover. I always say that metal is the true progression of beautiful music of old. If you do not know, this is actually a cover of medieval French composer and bars Guillaume de Machauts’ Je Voivre Liement Circa 1300. Actually, this is kind of “late” period medieval music. Considering it came out in the last period of the era. Regardless, he was one of the few composers that we have any historical records from. Listen to the original and you’ll see what INCREDIBLE job this band did with the cover. This is what Metal is for! A continuation of our ancestors!
Seeing all the fantasy comments and missing the clear and obvious song about a deconstruction and crisis of faith due to God’s seeming indifference to mankind’s fall and the ultimate consequences of ours and his actions. Love this song because it gets to a very central aspect of a lot of Christians deconstruction of faith and tackles it respectfully and from the believers perspective shifting from a tone of hope to despair and torment. No hatred only joy and anguish. Beautiful song. Great choice to contrast it with a French Medieval folk song glorifying God.
Who sees the fall as a mirthful show? I was thinking this song highlights man's interpretation of his own fall, not God's. Some people delight in their own fall. Now when he sings "minding not their fall", that does mean a seemingly indifferent God. Which makes me think this isn't really a Christian song. Most Christians I know would say that God does mind, but that's a theological debate. Love the song though.
@@calebgarate2581 This song explores what is commonly called The Problem of Evil. Why these would those be things that EXIST in the creation of a god who is omnipotent and omni-benevolent. The general position of someone moving away from their faith is that this proposition is incoherent. Either god isn't good, or the situation is just not as described. It just doesn't make sense.

[Verse]
Born from the void and still pristine
Tranquil, vast and cold
See the orb of blue and green
When he spake the light shone gold
[Verse]
Brought to life, in the image of god
In this holy place
Settled among the creatures odd
Eve, dear girl, avert thy gaze
[Chorus]
Claims to love them all
His world below
Minding not their fall
A mirthful show
[Verse]
Merriments in the centerpiece
Weird things in galore
Is this the cradle of the disease
That man alone must answer for?
[Chorus]
Claims to love them all
His world below
Minding not their fall
A mirthful show
[Verse]
Joy and delight, forever ceased
Sufferings abloom
Eaten alive by the cauldron beast
Let the drones ring to the sound of doom
[Chorus x2]
Claims to love them all
His world below
Minding not their fall
A mirthful show
Thanks indeed.

I hadn't even considered that there might be a music video for this until I went to find the lyrics. Now, I've uncovered a great truth: there *IS* a hurdy gurdy in there!!
Sure is and more to come 🤘🏽
This was a curiosity I didn’t regret
First song I ever heard of you guys. Thanks UA-cam recommendation. I had to find you on Spotify and now I'm going to listen to what else you have. I'm officially a new fan :)
The Bagpipe melodies are too good🤘🏻

Ravageritual x and 3000 of those views are by me personally haha
Fun fact: this song is inspired by a French medieval song from Guillaume de Machaut that is called "Je vivroie liement"
So, this is technically a cover. An awesome one however :D Metal makes everything better.
Loli Corne People don’t realize how rooted in classical music metal is.
I didn't know this song could become even more awesome than it was before, but that knowledge just made it even better.
And don't forget the title of the song is a painting by Hieronymus Bosch
@@WilliamFord972 medieval music isn't classical music though
It's not a cover as the lyrics are completely different. I would've preferred if this was a legit cover.
Bagpipe intro + minor key metal + folk tunes = my chest just grew a beard then that grew another beard and its name is now Ian.
Like the post.🌹
HAIL, Ian! And well met to thee!
Your 200th like. My name is Ian
Minor key metal is like a good 80% of metal with 15% being on Phrygian dominant
which one is Ian? your chest, chest beard, or chest beards beard?
The one thing I love about this genre is that it speaks to the soul. So many different ways to go but it all calls clearly that it's speaks to you in the way that music should. Have always loved it and always will.
