Top tips, Koby. Ta! Just a suggestion for a visually balanced video, you’re not being captured evenly as you’re being overshadowed/ overpowered by the white background.
Very well-made video. You nailed the fundamentals of the city boy style. However I definitely think you should’ve included the North face purple label as well as Nanamica as examples of brands. Especially since you used pictures from their Instagram accounts! if I had to add something, I would probably have got more specific with shoes. The emphasis on lifestyle running sneakers such as new balance is essential. There’s also a lot of Clarks, Vans, Birkenstock and sometimes Salomon involved. Apart from that, brilliant work. I like the idea that you can achieve this style with the stuff around you instead of looking for specific Japanese brands that are usually very hard to get your hands on.
Yoo, thank you very much! And yeah good points, some of which I considered when putting the vid together. But ultimately wanted to be as concise as possible but defo could've explored and expanded. Thank you!!
have you read 'Ametora' by W. David Marx? Super in depth analysis of Japanese fashion and it's heavy nod to traditional Americana/Preppy silhouettes. Dope book
My man, how old are you? This Japanese City Boy style is just recycled 90's Hip Hop fashion. I never throw away clothing, just vacuum seal it and put it in the attic. This styling is vintage Karl Kani, Mecca, Triple Five Soul, Enyce, Ecko, or Maurice Malone.Yo do the knowledge, and respect THE CULTURE.
Nah, but both styles incorporated some of the same influences. City boy is smarter and more dressed up though. I lived in the 90s and wore the brands you listed.
