Hi! Great video. Is there a way to allow a command to start the poll? That way the poll could be started right from chat and I wouldn't have to leave the screen and go into streamlabs to start it or end it?
Hey, thanks for watching! Unfortunately not with Cloudbot polls, but using channel points polls (if you’re affiliate or partner you get channel points) you can type /poll in chat and press enter for it to bring in the native Twitch channel points poll!
Great video! I'm struggling to find a solution to integrate anonymous polls into the UA-cam chat while doing a live stream. I'm testing Strawpoll now, but viewers need to pause the stream to vote :( Is there any easy solution to integrate a simple poll into the UA-cam live streaming chat? Thank You!!! EDIT: I'd love to allow anonymous vote to the poll, would it be possible to simply integrate two buttons in the chat: YES or NOT counting the clicks they receive? In the same way used on several Telegram groups... Thanks again!
Heh dude! Thanks for watching! I don’t have a solution to what you’re asking off the cuff, but I’m certain there would be a free browser source available for this! One slight issue though is that people could potentially spam if it was anonymous! If you find a neat solution please let us know, and I may do a vid about it!
@@MachineDaena Thanks a lot for your kind reply and great feedback! You can find my last test on my chan using Strawpoll, it's a free browser source and I was mostly happy with it but there is a big downside: Viewers using mobile app, will need to leave the live stream to vote, and then come back to the app, resume the playing and skip forward to align to the "live" moment. Frustrating :( It was great because it was anonymous so listeners are not scared to be honest with their vote, and also I'm able to reset the poll after each song. It's a pity I can't integrate it in the live chat. Like it happens on Telegram Groups, a very basic poll with two buttons: Thumb Up / Thumb Down. Please let's keep posted each other on this interesting topic. Thank you! Subscribed!
Hi there! This was super helpful, but I have a problem. The commands in UA-cam Live Chat aren't connecting to the poll. So when someone votes, the vote isn't recorded. I've connected my UA-cam account to Streamlabs, enabled Cloudbot, and created a few test polls with commands. But when a command it sent in Live Chat it doesn't pull through. Is this widget not compatible with UA-cam livestreams?
Hi - thanks for watching! It should work with YT in the same way it does with Twitch as the Cloudbot functions and modules are all compatible with both. We can preclude that StreamLabs Online was simply having a ‘moment’ when you tried this and therefore it was just bad timing (StreamLabs can sometimes be a touch inconsistent) - eg I’ve had times where my bot doesn’t respond to ANY and ALL commands! But assuming this is not the case (which you can test by trying it again now that some time has passed), my best guess would be that a few things may not be turned on or configured right. Try these: 1) Ensure Cloudbot is turned on (you mentioned it was, but double check!). 2) Type /mod StreamLabs into your chat and press enter. 3) If you’ve upgraded to prime and have renamed your bot, make sure you /mod [your bot name] as well so both StreamLabs and your named bot are mod. 4) Ensure there are no conflicting moderation issues such as making sure the poll test uses clean words etc. 5) Make sure you’ve logged into StreamLabs with the correct account while configuring the above (I’ve accidentally logged in with my bot account before and obviously that doesn’t work for modules on my channel!). 6) Try making a short poll so that the testing is quick. 7) You could also try having a trusted friend be given access to your StreamLabs online account and get them to set up the poll to test it, if you’re comfortable doing so. Finally we can’t preclude that it could be a UA-cam conflict issue of some sort as they’re always developing the usability of various streaming things while YT streaming grows; especially chat and interaction related stuff. So it’s entirely possible that it no longer works, which is over to StreamLabs to resolve really as it’s their development team that needs to tweak the api settings on the poll function.
Hey! Thanks for watching! You could do this with Timers or Custom Commands which are also located within Cloudbot. Check out my other vids on these or experiment on the timers and command tab. But there’s no native way within the polls to have it repeat other than the settings shown.
@@ringoshunttv9269 Thanks for watching! I don't think there's a nice and native way to show the poll other than moving the browser where the results are onto the screen!
You can create a new scene and label it Polls and voting and do a screen capture just on the poll so when you click on that scene it shows just the poll. Kind of like how people do the be right back scenes or just chatting scenes, just add one that says polls and switch to it sometimes during your live to show where its at.
How do you get the options (not just commands) to display in the chat? That is, not just the command. Here is what I mean: if i have a poll and the options are always (vote a), never (vote b), sometimes (vote c) the result is: vote (a, b, c)... the words always, never, sometimes don't show in the chat which means that steam viewers have no idea what a, b, c mean.
This is a direct excerpt from my channel www.twitch.tv/bearcatjamboree - A poll has opened for "What is my punishment today?" use !vote to vote. But, there is no context despite A, B, C, and D all having a full item description
Hey, thanks for watching. This sounds like a glitch assuming you’ve entered the options correctly! Normally the default responses from Cloudbot (if turned on) will use a variable to pull the data and place it for viewers eg {variable a} would be Always, {variable b} Never etc I’ve only used example parameters there because I’m not sure off hand what the actual variables are but you see where I’m coming from. Check Commands > Default and then see the commands for Polls to see if the messages look right. If they do, I’d recommend contacting StreamLabs as this sounds like a bug for sure.
@@MachineDaena Thanks for replying! It was actually user error. I didn't realize there was a widget that you put on the screen in SLOBS for the user to see and the vote options are just the letters that are on the widget. It's all good now!
Hi, Just wanting to know is it possible with the voting on the poll to take out !vote and just have the selection as the choice, for example i have 3 options and chat wants to vote of option 2, are they able to just type the number 2 in chat and this registers their vote?
I don't think this is possible, but you can customise the !Vote command in the "Default" commands list to make it shorter or to something that you prefer! Thanks for watching :)
