Julian, In the last two weeks I have seen every video of your series to catch up with you. I am deeply impressed by the work you have done so far, and I am looking forward to future videos.
Thank you, it means alot to hear a comment like that, I am no expert but I'm trying to do the best I can, this is the first steam engine/traction engine that I have built, I think I have jumped into the deep end 😁
It would be easier to paint it, polished parts need easy access to keep them clean and looking bright. Finding good hi build primer and top coat is the hard part, I always used 2k paint, I like paint to set hard and be stable.
Before the tube had any work done I had marked a centre line on the top Already, but to make sure it was still central I used a large engineers square each side and measured half of the boiler diameter which I found it to be true

A work of art, cheers : )
Thank you it's slowly coming along, I'm not sure about the finish of the weyshaft bracket as it is enclosed I am thinking I may spray it maroon

Yes I think painting it is the way to go 👍
If you search past copies of Engineering in miniature I wrote an article about how to machine a splined shaft for a Fowler a7 out of the solid.
hi Julian, how did you mark the centre line down the length of the boiler ..was it a Vernier height gauge?
