Yeah I was thinking of going with aluminium box section but ended up with the timber mainly for the price and the fact I didn't really know what I was doing!
@@OutNAboutAustralia I don't blame you, I'm still trying to find a local source for Uni channel. It's not that expensive when compared to something like 8020 slotted alu extrusions (exhorbitantly priced in Oz) but it is still more expensive than plywood albeit still achievable without winning lotto unlike the former. Cheers
Wish I could 😂 It’s a Bott service body that came with the ute so a little beefier than the average canopy. Only downside is it’s a little heavier than most so I needed to up the rear springs to suit.
Did you liquid nails or screw down the timbers at all?
Or just sit them on thr canopy?
Thanks
Hey Nathan,
I bolted down the battens and then screwed the floor to them.
Didn’t use any liquid nails although it probably would’ve been a good idea
Did the second method work with the Kwok grip spray?
It worked WAY better mate but could've used a little more of it.
In part 2 I do it all a bit differently and makes a world of difference!
@@OutNAboutAustralia yeah noticed the 2nd part you applied differently, glad it came out better for you mate 👍
Thanks mate 🤙🏽
How big is the canopy mate?
Hey mate 1700L x 1900W x 970H
alu uni channel is a better weight saving alternative than timber for the floor framimg. Thanks for the content. Cheers

Thanks mate. I’ll be sure to remember that, I’m sure I’ll be building another setup sooner or later 😂
Maybe a roller (like a paint roller) would of been easier to help bond the carpet to the ply. Enjoying your videos. Cheers.
There is an adhesive roller we could of grabbed from Bunnings but forgot it until we were at home 😂
Pretty substantial canopy you got there - very beefy. Make it yourself?
Wish I could 😂
