Dead & Company was formed in 2015 when the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with artist and musician John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The result was one of the most successful touring bands of the decade. The inaugural tour kicked off in the fall of 2015 with two sold-out shows at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and ended with two sold-out performances at the ‘Fabulous’ Forum in Inglewood, California.
Since then, the band has completed five tours, playing to more than 1.5 million fans, and has become a record-breaking stadium act. Dead & Company has headlined iconic stadiums across the country including Folsom Field, Autzen Stadium, Citi Field, Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium. Additionally, the band broke Wrigley Field’s all-time concert attendance record in 2017. Dead & Company’s 2018 Summer Tour ranked in the top 25 of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours and for the past two years, their Summer Tours ranked in the top 15 of the Top Global Concert Tours.

Such an earth-bound and grounding band... Hardly any wonder John found another real home with them. Keep rockin darlins!!
I just love the fact that there are surviving members of the Grateful Dead and that they still play Grateful Dead music live and that @ age 64 it's a privilege denied many. 2 ROCK my soul!❄🎡♥🕊🌎🕊♥🎡❄
Three original members - three new guys. Yet they don't look half dead?
Not Fade Away my brother 🤗 .... Going on 48 and blessed to be an OG and be able to take my daughter Dupree to shows. No greater love 🥰
Johns Rusty but Jeff’s there to keep em in line
Jerry’ s rotted corpse is Rolling over in his grave over this hot mess
@@gringoloco4 easy killer. Corpses don't move and you don't have a band.
My first Dead and co show , they Killed it ! Frigging awesome night !
sound has gratefully improved making this event more powerful... thank you Nugs... so appreciated...
Can finally hear Oteil!
I so love Eyes of the World! One of my very favorites. Praying they'll break that one out in Indy (DeerCreek). Right now discover that U are the song that the morning brings!
Right now discover that you are the size... of a SQUIRREL!
Was an amazing show. Nice pace tight and danceable. Well done boys but for the love of god turn up the bass.
Love
I love ballads
Me too!
I first heard this song at a Dead concert at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco in the spring of 1973. I was so thrilled to hear that the Dead (specifically Robert Hunter) had written a song trying to convey the enlightened state of experiencing the world. I was more thrilled when it came out on the album "Wake of the Flood" later that October. What they are trying to say is that the world only exists through our sensory perceptions and is therefore not something apart from or outside of us.

thank god we have you to masterfully interpret these songs
@@leshtricity "These songs"? I gave one possible interpretation to one song and expressed my joy in the song. That was apparently way too much for cynics to handle, and god forbid we should ever have to realize ourselves as anything more than pathetic little separate ego beings. Thank god we have people like you to masterfully demolish comments like mine. Actually, neuroscientists now know that our thoughts and speech are decided by our unconscious mind before we are even aware of them. Therefore, there can be no separate self with free will and choice. It is a complete illusion. What is left for us to be is "the eyes of the world".
Forever Dead 💀 🌹✌🏻❤️🇺🇸
Nice to see that the spirit is still alive
Wow, that's one Beautiful Eyes opener!
That was amazing, thanks
Absolutely GRATEFUL ⚡️🌀⚡️
Really enjoyable version of Eyes of the World!
great show cant wait for los angeles love you all gdf!
otil has a nice tone during his solo
This is so damn good, the boys have come out swinging this year.
Also, Mickey looks much more awake than the last 2 shows. Good to see him jamming.
he went from dozing to droning!
I love the super-jazzy approach to Eyes--this is a tune that slowing it down (the D & C approach) actually works! For me, Eyes occasionally gets repetitive...the slower tempo makes it far less so!
tbh i dont even feel this eyes is THAT slow, i mean it may be a step or two off from peak GD but honestly this tempo ain't too far off. Could be an attendance bias too tho
Holy shit otiel I just pulled over to listen to you
You can hear him??? He's always criminally low in the mix
Fill my head with empty to your thoughts are my soul to give not say
BPM: BALLEDS PER MINUTE
good
Oteil solo in the first song!!!
im sorry but the original dead crew has never looked so happy since John came on
And Johnny never looks so happy when his playing with his other band!
@@Dreamagic23 the dream team!
Ever see the way Jerry looked at Brent?
@@MorningView4 Or at Bruce
I've grown to respect jm alot more as hes matured and especially now that hes taken on such a role as co-leading the dead with bobby.
Also, many times, D & C's lights are too busy for my taste; not so here. Some great effects in this performance!
Oteil has his Fodera on stage....this seems new to me, has he been using it at all?
if you order the full show "halfway through" can you rewatch? Or watch the same show tomorrow?
48 hours to watch it all!
John is dancin´& smilin´ into Uncle Johns Band.
Have you been upset never hired anyone for your words freedom to misthink
who's the lady with the fan at 43:17?
why do I feel like bob weir is a clone of my dad?! 4:17
I hope that by the Wrigley shows John is back on the 594, this silver sky is not doing it for me.
Totally agree, It’s a great guitar but way too thin for most of this material. The classic dead guitar tone isn’t all single coil. Not sure what John is thinking this tour
@@gmguitars3283 are you forgetting about gator? The strat Garcia used from 71-73. Highlighted by the classic Europe 72 tour
Who cares ? This band is 1/4 speed shite.

I sure hope John gets a bigger fee than Mickey Hart.
Nothing has changed since 2015. Same songs, same stage, even slower. And the fact the band keeps skipping over Alpine Valley. Thanks for the memories. It's over for me.
Oof, Have fun staying home!
@@MorningView4 Stellar, AMAZING reply.
No one cares
Gasses and wrong air
Good grief fold up this freak flag already. 😢😮
So slow
Yeah, they just can't seem to get that pace up. Can only assume its the age factor. Still good, but not great.
It seems pretty painful especially for the other young guys
@@gregorythomas2674 It's been said a hundred times already, they can play faster, It is Bobby that prefers slower tempos because he thinks it allows the songs to "breathe" more
@@flonsdg Interesting. Glad he is at least aware and commented on it. Jack Straw and St. Stephen don't need to breath. Thats Good Ol Grateful Dead. I will stick with the 100+ shows i saw with Jerry then and take a pass on the ballads...which is apparently now every song they do. They played a great Stranger in VA at second show. Seemed to have it all. Moments like that are just too fleeting. Saw Phish a few times and they seem to bring it. The energy is there and I'm not even a huge fan. Just wish Bob would reconsider crooning Eyes and pausing 1/2 hour between each verse! Wanma dance before we all drop Dead! Enjoy the shows! 🎸⚘✌⚡
Horribly slow. Thanks Bob Weird. Time for him to retire to easy living life of working out and shilling for Big Pharm.
I'd rather watch paint dry. 😴
Bob seems confused. He's lost up there. He can't even change chords without looking at his hands. This is more horrific than Wolf Bros. And I won't even start on Mickey. 😔
These guys have been rocking for decades. Be kind.
it really is sad and pitiful watching these kids that never grew up now. they should just retire and wait for the sweet release of death as nature intended. this grasping at youth and success just leaves the rest of us sad and disorients future generations for their real world expectations of being human. they tried to become mainstream but they just are that talented, sure if you're on acid(lcd) they seems to be the best band in the world, but once the high subsides this is what you are left with. just sad and pitiful.
Just speak for yourself dingus....
nobody cares 😴 😒 🙄
Me and 139 other people beg to differ
@@jackduquette1202 you and 139 other people have shite taste in music. I would take the worst 95 show over this. Bob Weird needs to seriously hang it up.
LOL yet your here commenting nobody cares. Jokes on you.
@@gringoloco4 how much time do you take out of your day commenting on Dead & company & Bob Weir(d) videos? Seems pretty unhealthy.
@@MorningView4 about as much time as you spend standing up for these greedy quarter speed Big Pharm shills.
