    Hi Mel - I work as a consultant, I can remember one of my bosses a senior and very experienced consultant commenting that you do make mistakes for whatever region but the thing the clients value is how you deal with them and fix them. you obviously don't want to make too many mistakes but fixing the issue with ease and good nature is vital. Cheers Iain

    So very proud of you little lady!😊 Tom is a good friend He's keeping on you. He's not letting you off the hook That's the kind of friends you want in this business. You know what they say out of sight out of mind and that little stash was out of sight. Your workflow will come your systems come by doing you have some systems already set up and are still working the same in the warehouse for you. Just don't get frustrated stay focused. Have you moved your home yet? If not maybe you could find something closer to the warehouse. And... Maybe... Pick up a composting toilet for your warehouse space hahaha I do think you need a coffee pot though I can't live without my coffee while I'm listing. Keep at it keep on it but above all keep out of it Love from Akron Ohio USA Melissa aka Mrs T ❤

    Your laugh is so in infectious. What a moment you had when you paused in wonder of your warehouse view. Glad you captured it! How far is your post office in relation to your warehouse? As we begin our search for a location outside of our home, I dread the thought of being too far from the post office! Right now we are so close to the post office I may be a bit spoiled!

    • @tracygarrett3952
      @tracygarrett3952 Рік тому

      Delegate! The more someone else can do for your business, the more YOU can do. The post office will pick up your packages, but will probably have a limit. Things like going to the post office, ruins your work flow and takes too much time. Good luck to you. Remember this...always get a bigger space than you currently need. You'll use it!

    Hi Mel- I have a very small kind of everything store , about 700’ish items , about 500’sh are books. As I was watching your video last night I was flipping thru my store on my phone and was seeing a banner on my books that I have never seen before about fixing my description. Did not make sense so I went to the laptop- no where was that banner. So I started checking a few listings here and there and most of my item specifics have vanished. So now I am in a rush to fix this. I’m sharing this with because you might want to check a few listings. My sales on books had dropped, could be a reason for the slump in sales. I hate it when eBay changes anything- they must have totally ignorant people in the tech dept. You are an inspiration…. Keep focused- you will bounce back.

    Hey Mel! Simply because I care, I've done some calculations, and based on a 100km trip each way, with a VERY fuel efficient vehicle, and a gas price of AUS$1.70/L, you are spending at least AUS$10 on gas alone one-way, so $20 per day you go out there. That's not including wear & tear on your precious vehicle, the added mileage to the meter, and 2 full hours of your time completely wasted each working day! The long trip really does pain me for you, even if you do enjoy the ride there/back; it still isn't worth your value of time spent. If you go 4 times a week, that builds up to $320/month, or $4k/year of lost money just from trips to the wearhouse, and on top of that, it's a total loss of 384 hours (or 16 full days!) of your precious time just spent driving in just a single year as well. 16 DAYS!!☹Something to truly, truly think about! Much love from Canada! I've been really enjoying your content for years now!! Love to see that you've surpassed 25k subs! It has been a lot of fun following your journey. Looking forward to the next video already!

  • @imjody

    Ohhh no, it hurts me to hear that the warehouse is an hour's drive one way, Mel. I really hope that you're actually saving enough monthly on the warehouse for that long journey to be worth it! And if it truly is worth it by a long shot, then please do treat these guys with respect, and if you're using extra space that you're not paying for, or were not initially agreed to be taking, you know what you need to do. Keep up the great work. Hustle hustle! ;)

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  Рік тому +2

      The warehouse space is super cheap to rent. So it does work out ok with the added fuel costs. It’s a highway drive so it’s actually quite a nice drive. I just put on my music or make a phone call and have a long chat with anyone willing lol. When I move house it should hopefully only be about a 50min drive. It’s not as bad as it sounds and I do feel at home and love the community I’m surrounded with out there.

    I just went to Flea Across Florida yesterday. Drove 4 hours Thursday with my husband, 2 toddlers, and 2 month old, thrifting along the way at 2 Goodwill Outlets and 2 other stores. Started heading back the next day expecting to hit yard sales from 630am until noon (my husband had to be home for work in the afternoon). Unfortunately for sellers and buyers alike, there was an unexpected rain which drenched pre-set tables/items, and delayed other sales. Only hit about a dozen (some multi-vendor sites), but still walked away with $750 or so in profit. Really just wanted to go to sleep after an exhausting 2 days with early mornings and late nights, but forced myself to list a few items late last night and already sold 4!
    Wow...that rambled on.. haha oops, but moral of the story is that buckling down and doing what's needed generally brings positive results.

    What a stunning view of you with the warehouse view behind you. It's like wow! You go girl. Your hard work will pay off! One day at a time! Can you just take a lot of photos while you in the warehouse then youll also have a reserve so you can list when you work from home as well. Just a thought. Blessings.

    Behind every setback...is opportunity! Think of all the things in life and you will know this to be true. Look for the positive. Getting the stock from the other shed (and yes, i can call it a shed), gets you to see the bigger picture! Great to catch up with you on the Goldie and as always, have a happy!

      Thom loves vanilla slice lol. I used to like it with the old Lattice biscuits but they no longer make those. Mmmmm maybe I’ll have to make match sticks one day soon lol

    I took a holiday to NZ and put my store into time away for 2 weeks , its a killer 3 weeks later and the sales are picking up again but still not back to pre holiday levels , someone told me that the algorithm still sees your items sold during time away as late shipments so it throttles your sales ...... dunno if that's true but wouldn't surprise me .

      It does hurt your store. Sales will come but they’re low. You have to list extra hard for a while to pull it back up.
