The clarity in this footage is incredible. The best I've ever seen. This angle shows how consistently hard and low both players were hitting the ball over the net. Shapo has a very fluid style that's easy on the eye, while Meddy's style seems more erratic, though still very effective and accurate. It seemed to me that Med was hitting most of his forehands with a lot of topspin during the rallies. Was he?
Yeah I noticed that too, but I think the rally ball landed a split second before the second ball. Still technically hinderance or a let, but the umpire should definitely never call that lol
Starting to see why Shapo can't get the results he wants: there's no real strategy. Hits a lot of quality shots, some neutral, some hard, but nothing to really set him up in a winning position. Kinda stuck between offense and defense.
There’s a whole generation of players like Shapo who were just too in love with Nadal’s topspin. Shapo hits with topspin but his problem is that his ball doesn’t jump enough or get high enough to be a problem. Combine that with guys getting taller and taller I see why he has stagnated.
Also, it takes him some extra time to recover from each (forehand) heavy topspin shot that he hits, since he's throwing so much of his body into it. ..and this without really reaping the rewards of the giant bounce and spin-off that Rafa gets. I bet we see him economize his follow-through and recovery as he grows. I hope so because he's incredibly gifted.
Standard top spin forehand of today's game on hard courts actually, nothing new. Rafa's topspin and other players with heavy spin are also more a damaging factor on clay, not hard, hence Rafa's overwhelming dominance on clay. The intention of the heavy spin on asphalt courts is both for creating time and depth, once the ball bounces, enabling a player to physically recover during hard points (& resetting the point to impose one's game), or to defend against an opponent's penetrating (velocity) ball, which makes a defensive response, an offensive one. Standard strategy in professional tennis.
@@jjns5600 yeah idk what the guy is talking about, people think Federer hits flat but have no idea how much top spin his average ball has. It's normal for players to use that much spin, Nadal is just different.
I love Shapo's game but if you watch for a few minutes you immediately see how he routinely makes bad decisions on the court. It's his shotmaking and movement that keep him in the match. Also, his constant fistpumping whenever he wins a point is just immature. At 5:41, he wins a long point from an error by Med and he is waving his hand to the crowd for a cheer (off your opponent's error?). He fought hard but c'mon, dude.
I assure you this is real haha. The stands look empty since I was facing the reserved seating section and many left after the long match before this one…I hate the fake video game highlights as much as anyone!
I wish he would get a better coach who would understand what he needs to do better on the court, he knows what he needs to do but needs help. What a shame to see his talent wasted.
Immaculate footage and great angle. It makes you realise just how hard they are hitting the ball and how accurately; just fizzing it low over the net.
Shapo is fun to watch. Always hitting hard with amazing one hander...but consistency is key vs top 10 players.
It''s his forehand that fails him over and over again.
this sums up him as a player, looks so great and well-rounded but then you look at the score and hes down by a lot...
I’m ticked that there were not more people watching. These players deserve our support as our cheers and jeers make them play with more vigor.
Really nice video angle. Appreciate for the video. Really feels like you are watching the match at courtside.
Fantastic angle; thx for posting
2:45 the voice crack grunt 😂
Absolutely insane angle.
Wow, I've only watched your videos on mobile efore. This is incredible on a bigger screen.
Best angle and quality I've ever seen.
Спасибо за съёмку матча с такой позиции. Браво.
Amazing!
I love this! Awesome angle and quality

Thank you for this!!
why isnt all tennis shot like this it just seems better in every way
great view to watch
17:30 this should have been Shapovalov's point, Med fed the second ball back before the rally ball had landed out of play
Yeah I noticed that too, but I think the rally ball landed a split second before the second ball. Still technically hinderance or a let, but the umpire should definitely never call that lol
@@connorpen It doesn't matter which ball landed first. What matters is that he threw a ball into the field of play before the live ball was out.

Story of shapos life - I like his hitting but tennis is strategy, the not fun part of tennis
His one hander is pretty gay
5:44 beautiful meddy forehand.
tennis would be more popular if it were televised at this angle
Medvedev has the type ofgame only a mother could love
Medvedev has such an unorthodox style, but I love it.
❤need More Like this Video for my Kids to PRACTICE
This video angle is the best 😂
Super👏👍
What happened at the point starting at 14:10? Wasn't Medvedev's shot in? Why not hit it?
the shot that shapov hit prior was out
Thats hindrance at 17:29, ball was still live
❤❤❤
Tennis tan bonito! lo hacen ver facil.
What racquet is shapo using here? Is it a paint job of his usual Vcore or something else
based on the shape of the frame (particularly the throat) i think it's an ezone. could be wrong though
Really shows how tall Meddy is :O
I was sure it was practice until 6th minute, cuz its not full, but shapo celebration made me question it
animation is so real!! LOL
The woman who's voice is heard cheering for Medvedev keeps cheering unforced errors by Denis. Totally classless.
Yeah fully agree. Her voice was so penetrating and irritating too
@@audemarspiguet4237 exactly I hate those nasally voice people
Russian. not surprised.
Not really unforced errors make up most of points. The only thing *classless* Is your understanding of tennis.
@@jacksonhilley7429 Then don’t cheer. Sounds like you’re one who doesn’t even play tennis.

Somebody needs to teach DS how to volley.

shapo just doesnt have the deliberate placement a lot of the time that medvedev has

I think he celebrated because he broke on Danil’s serve

Meddy's play isn't ugly courtside...
Shapo needs a strategy coach- The best game around, now he needs to play his partners not the damn point
Why is there always a girl screaming in the backround
6:02 mickey mouse
2 of the best in the world and the place is half empty
Almost looks like a videogame for some reason. Colors so vibrant and the crowd is so fake.

17:30 how is that allowed. Ball is not dead and medvedev puts another ball in court.
So lucky Medvedev didn’t kick the camera.
Shapos forehand drop shots going way too high
Pareciera que uno esta adentro de una pileta, inclusive hasta el olor a cloro se me viene a la mente.
