- This video gives you the notes, the sounds, and a full song demo to help you learn how to play keyboard on this song in a band. This "Livin' On A Prayer" keyboard tutorial also shows how to do it all on ONE keyboard if needed (which is how I play it with my cover band).

Your gear setup is probably different from mine: I still use the original Roland Fantom G series keyboard (I have the G7 and the G8 from about 2009), but I am pretty sure most other keyboard players do not! 😆😆
But that's fine. This isn't about the gear, as much as it's about the music and the sounds that are available on so many keyboards.
You may have multiple keyboards, or a keyboard that does not allow you to assign different sounds to different keys. That's also totally ok.
Whatever your situation, I recommend going through the video to find the information that you DON'T already have, then translate that information over in context of your setup, and you'll be sounding like a pro in no time!

you made my day :)
Awesome!
I have gone 40 years in cover bands and have never needed to play this song. Finally had a request by our guitarist to do this song. This was a quick easy way to learn the song in sections. Nice job
I'm glad it helped!
I play this song and did not realise the chord at 1.38 had an A in it and then you add the B at the very start. This is so helpful. Thank you for putting this together.
Thanks for letting me know! I'm glad it added to the knowledge you already had about playing the part.
Shout out to my girl kid lee for turning this into a hit ❤❤🔥🔥🔥 YHWH

Just getting back into playing for a friends band after not playing for 20 years ( life sucks that way sometimes ) and found your channel. This is very helpful. Really great stuff. Thank you!
That's great! Glad you're playing again and that my content is helpful.
How did your restart go in playing music again? I have to do the same thing as you did after 15 years I haven't played.....
@@willtrevinhoII Its been a slow process for me. Trying to juggle life events around practicing sucks. One main thing is overthinking what needs to be played in some songs for live events. What I have learned its not always needed to play every single note which sometimes can be to much to cover for just two hands. Practicing the basics first though seems to help when the time comes to learn the songs themselves. Good luck with getting things going again.
@@RickLewis thank you for replying to my comment.......thank you for your best wishes...I hope you find what you're doing not only interesting again but also a form of bringing happiness to your life, I believe when we play music and connect with people there is nothing else more satisfying than those kinds of feelings.......good luck to you...
Great comprehensive video! You just saved my backside for the gig I have 2 days from now
I love that! Good luck on the gig!
nice work. between your breakdowns and the sounds for my Korg Nautilus by NarfSounds, It's fun to jump back into a fun gig again.

Have you ever played any music from Harlequin?
I'm not familiar!
@@mikebardenpiano , if you’ve got the chance, look for song called, Innocence, by harlequin, they were a Canadian band, they did songs like, did it for love, sweet things in life, they were very popular in the 80’s! By the way, love your tutorials, I’m fairly new to keyboards, I play guitar most of the time!
