- We review this 2 berth 6m Fiat Ducato campervan. Find out if it made our shortlist of top campervans in this detailed review!
The first van we check out is the Swift Carrera 122 which is a 2 berth, 2 passenger seat rear lounge 6m Fiat Ducato based Campervan. The RRP of the Swift Carrera 122 is £71,495 at the time of filming with the Automatic option at £2,995 additional cost. Check with your Swift dealer for the latest pricing.
The 122 is a similar size and layout to the Elddis CV20 and the Compass CV20.
We looked at this van at the Kimberley Showcase which was running up to the 28th January at Kimberley Caravans in Darlington. Thank you very much to Kimberley for letting us film at the event.

I really liked the fly screen on the rear doors. Thank you for showing us around. Take care Gill
Yes it was very handy and we hadn't seen one on the rear doors before - thanks very much for watching, all the very best, David & Rachel ❤️
This review is great and very professional. Keep up the great work.❤️❤️
Thank you very much, it's really appreciated. All the very best, David & Rachel ❤️
Very nice review. Thank you 😊
My pleasure 😊thank you for watching x
Some nice features and as David noticed, more galley space vs the old 122
Some comments I scribbled down:
Would prefer cab top storage rather than skylight
Don't like sloping worktop ends
U-shaped lounge for us, gives a rear shelf + useful boot/"garage" storage
Cargo storage bins - would prefer pockets
I'm 6'0 so I'd also struggle with the bed length
So would be a "no" from us. Thanks for the review.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes the skylight above the cab. Wasted space as far as I'm concerned, and like you, prefer more storage.
Thank you - some really great points, the biggest thing we thought was the LPG in the van taking up space which could be used for storage of things like chairs and other bigger stuff - also as you mention the lack of shelf above removes some other storage - that's why it got a no from us too - Thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
I liked the skylight but didn't like losing the storage space (clearly you can't have both ;)) - In real terms in the smaller vans, the shelf comes in handier and also it's another point which hopefully won't leak. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit Ah, guilty of skipping parts of the review! I didn't realise that the LPG was onboard, has to be underslung for me + diesel heater to reduce LPG dependency.
@@LeisureBit Also, those rear drawers didn't look large enough for decent sized chairs.
Lovely van with some brilliant idea's , brilliant walkaround Rachael, very professional 🙂 Trev Debz and Tyler x x
😂😂😂 thank you for your very kind comment x I did love the coloured wall panels, tables and bin! A bin - I’m do rock n roll!
It was great to meet you guys there!
Rachel, David & Roxy 💕
We visited yesterday and liked the 184… 🤔 shorter seats but we’re both 5ft 8in (not sure what that is in new money 😄) so can manage with the duvalay sleeping bags transverse… but we have just bought our new Exp 67 so we were ‘just window shopping’ 😊 good to see your updates again, JnP x
Ohhh what time were you there yesterday? We were there again meeting friends
David’s 6 ft 5 and he just didn’t fit in the bed which is such a shame as it was a nice van.
Window shopping is dangerous 😂😂
Rachel & David
@@LeisureBit it was Sat lunchtime as we went to pick up our van. Oh my 6ft 5 🙂 You’re right, every change of our van started with window shopping…. Hope you have some good trips planned 🚐 in meantime these review are great 👍 thanks
Great review both and I would buy a van from Rachel any day of the week. Lovely presentation style and a really in-depth review. Such a shame that the couches aren’t long enough 😢
Oh thank you - you are so kind! My lack of tech knowledge would severely let me down being a sales person 😂😂
I liked the little subtle differences that really did make a difference
David needs a foot chopping off him - well not a foot but in height 😂😂
Rachel & David 💕
Well done David and Rachel a great review as usual it looks a lovely van with lots of useful features and compared to the elddis as you say it seems much more cosy
Swift have designed with a good use of space
It’s definitely one I would look at myself
Oh David you would need to keep the doors open 😂😂 or have an awning for you and Rachel and Roxy could be inside!!!
Do they do a 6.4m one as that may be longer inside??
Thank you Daniel it took me a while to realise it was the panels that added to the cosy feel - just so much nicer than cream plastic! Loved the bin! 😂😂
Or maybe we could but 1 each??? 😂😂😂 or David chops some of his legs off?
It is really worth a look at!
Rachel & David 💕💕
Some nice touches there Rachel & David, I think Elddis need to up their game as the price of this Swift is comparable to a new CV20 whereas a couple of years ago the Swift was 8-10k more expensive.
Thank you Karlos. There were little subtle additions that made such a difference like: the fly screen, fabric coloured panels, tables, wetroom etc
It was a nice van! Not quite for us because of David’s height but I will be honest I was impressed!
Rachel & David 💕
Take a look at the Wildax Europa - they do an interesting volt pack option with diesel heating and no gas - we have one - great off grid! Additionally they have just announced they are offering the Clayton lps 2 as an integrated power unit to replace shore charger, battery, B2B and inverter!! Nice rear lounge layout on the 6.36m Fiat chassis.
Oh wow thank you for that! Deffo sounds up David’s street!
I’m going to check to see if they are at the NEC so we can look round!
Thank you so much! X
Rachel & David 💕
We saw a 122 prior to buying our Expedition 66, and my recollection is that the pinch point was largely due to fitting in a 3-burner hob. I see that it's a 2-burner in the van you looked at. Maybe that's the change.
Thank you - very interesting point as something definitely had changed and I wonder if that's the thing, it certainly feels different to the 122 we looked around a couple of years ago. Well spotted! All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
@@LeisureBit The "pinch point" got a few vans rejected when we made our decision. Also, and same as you, any where the bed was too short (I'm just over 6') got rejected. The 66 passed pretty much all of our requirements, just being let down by the onboard gas cylinder; we had an underslung fitted within days of collection!
2 quick points
Drivers seat doesn’t look as if it goes back very far🤔
Did you try it David?
Also - rear door flyscreen
We looked at this at NEC last year and the fit is almost good 🤪
If you look at top corners there are gaps which are not sealed.
It wasn’t too bad on how far it went back - we looked at a Bailey B62 and B64 and both of those it didn’t go back far at all (Ford Cab) - the only one I saw which went back a decent amount was the Mercedes Motorhome 😀 I did have a sit in the seat so probably about the same as the CV20.
Didn’t spot the top corners on the fly screen - good spot!
The length of the rear lounge was smaller on the 122 and the fly screen got slightly in the way of overhanging the end a little (not a problem for most but would be for me) - and the under seat storage plus gas inside needed improvement - the CV20 is more practical.
All the best, David 😀
Great review, with the sunroof above the cab, you lose storage space, however nicely laid out with some interesting ideas
Yes we noticed that. I love that it adds light and makes the cab feel more spacious however we do use the storage space above the cab. So far it seems compromise is the words that keeps coming up!
Thank you again
Rachel & David 💕
I'm glad someone else attaches the 'bin' in similar fashion to me😂
😂😂😂 isn’t that what that’s designed for???!!! 😂😂😂
Rachel & David
I would take the two back doors off add one lift-up door, and drop down the bed. Auto gears sat dish, wifi, two leisure batteries and two roof solar panels. And every pipe lagged and heated water tanks for winter.
Some great suggestions :) thanks for the comment, all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
What a great sales person Rachael would make you can sell us one any day of the week All the best on what ever you do
Malcolm and Sheila from Workington
Eh Malcolm I would hate to do sales - I just love a good nose about vans 😂 and I did like bits of that van.
How is sunny Workington?
Rachel & David
Hi again
The weather in Workington has been very very windy and rained in biblical proportions Bassenthwaite lake looks like the Irish sea the road at Thirlmere was blocked by flooding the rain was coming down the fells that fast it was just coming over the top of the walls other than that just brill thanks for asking hope this next week's better
Malcolm and Sheila from Workington agen
Oh no - it’s just awful isn’t it! I feel like I’m getting trench foot with all this wet! We are at Keswick next weekend 😳
Rachel & David
Warwick XL , its the best by far. Try to look soon
Oh cool thank you we will add it to our list to look at! 💕
@@LeisureBit yes, very long beds, totally separate shower, and toilet in one room.
You will not be disappointed. You get what you pay for.
2 BIRTH ???? Really ????
Morning yes that’s what it is sold as. 2 belted seats etc
It was a nice van 💕
Thanks for letting us know - corrected in the title and description.
