    Dorian Yates proved Aristotle's concept of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" to be true. As Milos said, Yates didn't have the greatest arms, shoulders, chest,..., but the physique as a whole was almost untouchable. The whole is GREATER than the sum of its parts.

Still one of my favorite bodybuilders of all time. Phenomenal poser for someone so stacked with muscle. The British Grand Prix routine video is still etched in my memory.
    When I was told about esiclene I searched high and low for that one😂. I like these podcasts with Milos as it reminds me of the casual talk you would sometimes get amongst bodybuilders off stage.

    My take on the reason why Iain's chest is like that (Steinerism) is due to the.way the chest fibres attach to the sternum. It's different to how muscles usually insert annd because it's not attached via a conventional tendon, it can actually spread apart over time due to trauma. I imagine as Iain's chest has always been a weak point, that he's been training it it differently since working with Matt that has caused it to separate during their attempt to bring it up. That's my theory at least...

    @Longevitypersonalfitnessnj Рік тому

    BIG fan of the three of you together:) Respect to all of you for your accomplishments in Bodybuilding. But (2) questions. 1)Why would you take a “newbie”…a beginner and put him/her on a machine and tell them to “focus” on a particular muscle? They have absolutely NO body awareness, let alone the suspect mind/muscle connection. 2) If you have muscle/joint pain to start…maybe that’s a BIG RED FLAG to take a look at your training regime at that point…especially as you age?…never mind making “adjustments” on a machine that “allows” you to train. Potential for injury is ENORMOUS! Apologies…just a coaches point of view. You guys are the BEST!✌️❤️💪

    • @MilosSarcevOfficialYoutubePage
      @MilosSarcevOfficialYoutubePage Рік тому

      #1) WHY NOT?
      You think it is easier to put "newbie" under the barbell or give him/her dumbbells and tell them to "focus" on a particular muscle - thinking they will connect better???
      On e million percent GUARANTEED - newbies, with NO body awareness or whatever you mentioned (incapable of making mind/muscle connection) will be AWARE and CONNECTED within a few reps if you guide them properly...as they are stabilized and machines (especially good ones) are made to properly isolate primary mover...so chances of feeling the muscle you are targeting are much more significant than doing it with the free weights!
      Besides nobody, starting with their teenage years are completely "unaware" to begin with...
      #2) if you train for decades there is a great possibility that you will have some joint pains...that was RED-FLAGGED at some point and proper adjustments are made - exactly by choosing greatly designed machines (like New Tech machines I was referring to) where you can avoid joint pains all together and stimulate muscle WITHOUT compromising in GOOD PAIN-BAD PAIN department...
      The potential for injury is GREATLY reduced.

    • @Longevitypersonalfitnessnj
      @Longevitypersonalfitnessnj Рік тому

      @@MilosSarcevOfficialUA-camPage THANK YOU for your reply. Always a fan of yours back in the day. To your points…1) There’s no reason a “newbie”has to “connect” with the muscle being trained. They’re actually incapable to do so. Why not focus instead as a coach on proper body position and exercise technique…never mind primary mover or not. Why do they even need to feel the muscle being trained at all initially? How about just getting them to move well and feel good exercising? To be clear, I’m NOT talking about competitive athletes. I’m talking “mere mortals” like myself;)
      2) Again, I understand your point and I’m sure this equipment line is amazing as you suggest…BUT, pain is a signal alerting the body that something’s WRONG…we should train through that?…NOT us mere mortals sir. Just another viewpoint to consider:)TY

    • @MilosSarcevOfficialYoutubePage
      @MilosSarcevOfficialYoutubePage Рік тому

      @@Longevitypersonalfitnessnj Well...here you go...Who are you to say that a SINGLE person is incapable of connecting with the muscle that is going to be trained in well designed machines of reputable Equipment companies.
      I would bet MY LIFE that I will make every single person feel the muscle in less than a minute...as I did so many times.
      Experts like you are PAINFUL to listen:
      1) no reason for newbie to connect with muscle being train
      2) newbies are incapable to connect
      3) why would they need to feel the muscle they went to the gym to train/stimulate
      4) no body awareness
      5) why would they be told to focus on muscle
      etc....etc....etc
      Jesus Christ!!!
      You probably trained zero people, "being mortal" as you call yourself...yet you are ready to debate this topic....?
      Like a virgin would discuss sexual positions with a porn star?
      (Nasty comparison is for a reason...as it should make crystal clear point).
      And....nobody said freeweight exercises are not good or important...It was a question of IF you can connect with the muscles easier on machines designed to ISOLATE specific muscle or doing freeweight exercises.
      Finally....to complete the second point: MUSCLE PAIN is always WELCOME...and it is NOT a signal alerting the body that something is WRONG!
      That is why we actually go to the gym for...(you know: feeling the muscle that we are trying to target...unless is pointless for everyone to have mind-muscle connection?).
      Joint Pain is a signal that we are avoiding - and that was the EXACT POINT we were making...until you felt the need to give us your endless wisdom!

    I started the debate over free weights vs machines for back development on after hours and Dave ran with it. Two things I will address #1 using heavy compounds for back makes your waist thicker and #2 You can get the same development from machines as free weights. To adress these questions let's just compare the bodybuilders from the 1980's to today's bodybuilders. In the 80's just about every top level competitor had complete back development. That means lats developed all the way down to the lower lats, thick striated spinal erectors and traps. Why because they ll did lots of pull ups, barbell row, deadlifts and T-bar rows. And somehow they still maintained a tight midsection. You want examples Mike Mentzer, Samir Banout, Franco Columbo, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the list goes on. It's not heavy compounds that are responsible for blown out midsections in modern bodybuilders. It's the misuse of insulin and growth hormone. Now some of today's modern bodybuilders have figured it out and they have completely developed backs and tight midsections. Just look at the top three at last year's Olympia. They are all doing heavy compounds for back and still have tight midsections. Prove me wrong!
