You all work so hard and do not deserve such a kick in the teeth, I was in tears watching this and wish I was able to give you all a hug. It's soul destroying but chin up girls (Richard and Dawn) we are praying for better days ahead.
Heart goes out to to guys- I've never lost cows due to tb, as I've been managed herds in East Anglia mainly over 32 yrs, always , on a 4 yr testing, which was plenty for me, the hastle it was.
So sorry to see 13 cows go down with TB it's a horrible disease but it's about time our government has a TB vacation for all farmers but asspesally for you guys give your chins up from one ex dairy farmer to another ❤
Really sorry to hear your news i completely understand what this means for you and your family i have everything crossed that when they are re tested you get the all clear 👍
Girls. So so sorry for what had happened to ye. I could see the pain in ye face. It’s horrible and affects everyone in the family. I ve had it before and some family members not working on farm were as devastated as we were. I feel for your dad who I think was really annoyed and angry with the situation no matter where u are in Uk or here across the pond to us in Ireland 🇮🇪.
Oh no, so sorry to hear that. The Govn really needs to sort this out, testing testing and more testing but never sorting the problem out at the root. Feel for you, its heartbreaking - all that work, care and love and the Govn incompetence causes this.
Thankyou for sharing your experience in TB testing on the farm, its not the results you guys were hoping for as you mentioned the cow's that failed the tests its the end of life and for me it is absolutely heart breaking to see what you're all going through at the moment. It is like your Dad said you give the best care regarding there welfare in the farm but there's things that is outside of control that is really mind boggling in regarding the control of TB spread within the county, there has to be some evidence that support the facts about what control is the governing body todo now!!
It's bloody rotten to get news like that. Not only because of the loss of income and the fact that there is nothing you can do about it. It's even worse since you've raised them up from birth. They're part of the family at this point. I hope your family gets through it alright. Keep the faith. 🇨🇦 ❤
Y si es así solucionarlo y tirar para a lante se guro que lo aran así están bien unidos asta mama con la misma fuerza de sienpre un fuerte abraso para ustes 😘❤️❤️😘👏👏👏👏
Tb testing is big business for the vets, department and many more.In Ireland we have the same problem.... too many making money out of it.Why cant they make a vaccine. Keep the heads up😊
No it's not "all about the money" it's about keeping the scourge of TB infections in humans from becoming the hopeless epidemic it used to be. Where your stricken family members spent the rest of their lives coughing their lungs out in the dozens of sanatoriums that used to dot the countryside... Or with bodies riddled with TB tumours. I vividly remember the mandatory lung xrays every year at school in the early 60's. TB in humans is just barely treatable with handfuls of exotic and expensive antibiotics taken daily, that can take over a year of the therapy to cure. Resistance is eroding even that capability with some infections being incurable. I feel terrible that farmers have to experience this kind of tragedy, but it's hardly a "scam". Developing vaccines for bacterial infections is far more difficult than for the relatively simple viral organisms.
@raymondrobinson4047 Would you rather they didn't test and let TB spread throughout the herd . The whole herd then fails to thrive and the animals eventually die . How is that preferable?
This is just utterly heartbreaking 💔 for all of you. Not only the cost to your farm but the love for of all your cows too which must be mentally exhausting and draining. Something needs to change from the government (some hope when you’ve got the likes of Chris packham saying save the black and white fluffy animals with no respect for the cows!!). Like you say tomorrow’s another day. Please can you explain the IR’s and gamma testing-how does that work? Thanks
I am lying in bed watching part one to this, the tears are pouring from my eyes now. Not from a farming background, I understand the circle of life stuff. The system here is wrong so wrong on many ways.
My understanding is that even when they fail this 75 year old test, it can be proved - but only after slaughter, that they may not have the disease at all. Is this correct? I also understand that it is not just the direct losses but you can be placed under movement restrictions for a very long time. Again is that correct?
We vaccinate in the States for TB when they are yearlings it's required by the state do you guys have that requirement over there it helps with the numbers of loss just wondering
So sorry for all of the family, worst job on the farm. Don't understand why we have to keep killing cows at this rate as well as the stress to the farmers and also cost to the country without doing much about the cause of it.
watching this was traumatic, i couldn't imagine what it was like to film. the whole family did well to keep your spirits up. its disgusting the way the government deal with TB, needs changing. i heard one of you say you 'thought it was from where they live' did you mean in the same shed?. do you find you get more reactors at this time of year when they have been out grazing all summer? mixing with the wildlife? also i could listen to you two talk all day amazing accents.
The worst thing is when they put the animals down and test them again which comes up negative! The testing is a pointless exercise and no amount of compensation makes it right! I’m out of cattle now so don’t have to do that anymore!
gorgeous British dairy farm girls #❤️ those cows which have positive tuberculosis test had already produced milk & U have sold that milk before the test & the pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculi can be transmitted to humans through milk # nevertheless those cows can be quarantined & treated with Isoniazid, Rifampin & ethambutol which will eliminate the pathogen from cells & blood # 🇵🇰
Really why is it a silly question.its simple if a cow is carrying a calf would you kill both because it's had a positive TB test. So what this hard working father and husband said was if a woman was pregnant and she had a virus would we kill both . Very easy to understand he's anger and sadness I really don't think they need an idiot like you been sarcastic
I gather there is no vaccine, is there also no possible treatment? Also what is IR? Is every TB testing like this for you, or is this worse than normal? Sorry to see you lose so many animals at once. The mud and rain don't help. And sorry for so many questions.
TB testing is demoralising for farmers, There is a vaccine, but we can't use it, I'm not 100% clued up but I think the antibodies of the vaccine is TB so the cow will test posative for TB anyway, and you loose your TB free status. They are currently testing the vaccines on a couple of farms. IR is inconclusive reactor normally they will get retested in 60 days and if they get classed as IR for a second time they will have to go, if the bottom lump is bigger than the top one it's not good news, there is 1 or 2 millimeters tolerence and it gets classed as a IR, and over that tolerence it's a fail. The TB TEST is so inaccurate it's litraly a joke you might as well flip a coin, it angers farmers all over the UK all the stress and mental health problems it causes for farmers. You work so hard just to get all your hard work taken away from you. Over 40,000 cattle get slaughtered in the UK a year because of TB and it costing taxpayers £150 million a year. What else angers farmers is that the government is doung nothing to prevent it,they think that just testing and killing the posative cows is enough to prevent it. After years of this system TB in cattle is still increasing. There is one way of preventing it in my opinion, but I'm not getting into it.
If a cow is ir the 2nd test then it's classed as a fail. Also once a farm fails the following test is done on a severe reading which means all your ir cow would all fail. Very difficult to go clear then. It a merry go round of misery.
I understand why you have to tb test. My heart is breaking for you guys, and your animals.
Two lovely sister keep up the good work on the farmer ❤❤❤
the Pembertons just went through this as well. wow what tremendous stress.
Chin up ladies, There are a lot of people that enjoy you sharing your lives, better times ahead.
Sorry, for your loss! Hard to stay upbeat and positive when you get results like that! Please keep your chin’s up! ✌️🇨🇦
I am so sorry.
You all work so hard and do not deserve such a kick in the teeth, I was in tears watching this and wish I was able to give you all a hug. It's soul destroying but chin up girls (Richard and Dawn) we are praying for better days ahead.
I feel very sorry for your loss of those animals it must be heartbreaking for you all.
😢
So sorry about losing so many hugs to all of you
Proper shitey news. Im so sorry for your losses. It's clear how much you love and care about your stock. I am sure you will recover. ❤
Heart goes out to to guys- I've never lost cows due to tb, as I've been managed herds in East Anglia mainly over 32 yrs, always , on a 4 yr testing, which was plenty for me, the hastle it was.

Nice working
Really sorry to hear your news i completely understand what this means for you and your family i have everything crossed that when they are re tested you get the all clear 👍
Good video again.Bad luck girls, Such a shame. You can see why alot of farm houses cows all-year round and make farms critter proof .
Girls. So so sorry for what had happened to ye. I could see the pain in ye face. It’s horrible and affects everyone in the family. Oh no, so sorry to hear that. The Govn really needs to sort this out, testing testing and more testing but never sorting the problem out at the root. Feel for you, its heartbreaking - all that work, care and love and the Govn incompetence causes this.
Horrible news. The public have no idea what dairy farmers go through. It is awful.
You are working hard day and night in your work. And I am very happy to see your hard work. Be happy and keep smiling.❤❤❤
We’re all with you girls 💪❤

Agree totally.....it's all about the money!!

There is a vaccine but it can't be used on animals used for human consumption
@raymondrobinson4047 Would you rather they didn't test and let TB spread throughout the herd . The whole herd then fails to thrive and the animals eventually die . How is that preferable?
Look after each other - I you have to get through it
Oh god thats very hard on ye all .
I just found your channel where are you all at it is beautiful ❤
This is just utterly heartbreaking 💔 for all of you. Not only the cost to your farm but the love for of all your cows too which must be mentally exhausting and draining.

Such a wonderful family 👪
I am lying in bed watching part one to this, the tears are pouring from my eyes now. Not from a farming background, I understand the circle of life stuff. The system here is wrong so wrong on many ways.
How is the system wrong ,explain please ?

So sorry to hear your bad news.

TB SUCKS!!!! thankfully here in nz it's not common anymore and only get tested every couple years
My heart goes out to you , you all work so hard ,is the TB to do with badger's i have heard other farmers talking
about it .stay strong 😢
They really need to start a vaccination programme for TB. Clearly the present system is not working.
Hi I'm in Ireland,,and we had 3 with TB in April. It's not fair
you two sisters are doing what the NFU should be doing showing up what is going on withTB testing are they paid to keep quite ????
so Sorry

How do you have replacements if you breed with a beef bull. What are the white faced cattle
We vaccinate in the States for TB when they are yearlings it's required by the state do you guys have that requirement over there it helps with the numbers of loss just wondering
Every sub has watched your vid within 17 hours, impressive.
So sorry for all of the family, worst job on the farm. Don't understand why we have to keep killing cows at this rate as well as the stress to the farmers and also cost to the country without doing much about the cause of it.
It’s so sad😢. I’m a non farmer, so why can’t they go into food chain?
The Government won't do anything about it until we loose all farming in the UK and by that time sadly it will be to late to fix it 😞
It's a sad day when this happens no one sort this it's every where I wish ye the best
watching this was traumatic, i couldn't imagine what it was like to film. the whole family did well to keep your spirits up. its disgusting the way the government deal with TB, needs changing. i heard one of you say you 'thought it was from where they live' did you mean in the same shed?. do you find you get more reactors at this time of year when they have been out grazing all summer? mixing with the wildlife? also i could listen to you two talk all day amazing accents.
That’s a shame.
Just heart breaking to see healthy animals having to be slaughtered. I no a guy he loss a 100 cows with TB life can be cruel
🤗
Did you know that Charlotte Ashley plugged you a few days ago?
That’s why I’m here.
The worst thing is when they put the animals down and test them again which comes up negative! The testing is a pointless exercise and no amount of compensation makes it right!
I’m out of cattle now so don’t have to do that anymore!
The thumbnail does make it look like the dogs got the bad news before the humans.
Sorry for your news.
Hola familiaaa asta a qui me a gustado ver los videos son muy bueno solo ablo es PAÑOL y creo que este tienen un problemillo

Why doesn't the government offer to treat & isolate ? Follow the money trail.
always young healthy animals they can find a vaccination for any deases wy not tb
Very saddening for you
Vary Sorry
T b testing is not good but I can tell you love your animals
I'm sorry, and I have nothing against dairy farming per se but "would we do this to humans" is a silly question from a farmer.
Really why is it a silly question.its simple if a cow is carrying a calf would you kill both because it's had a positive TB test. Ir is inconclusive reactor where there is some reaction to the test but lump not big enough to be 100%.
TB testing is demoralising for farmers, There is a vaccine, but we can't use it, I'm not 100% clued up but I think the antibodies of the vaccine is TB so the cow will test posative for TB anyway, and you loose your TB free status.
