Picture yourself as a beginner on this spot, on this day, struggling to even stand up on its brand new big board with its brand new big foil underneath, and there comes a guy lining up backies and tacks in a 100sq meters piece of water like it’s no big deal whilst speaking the strange language of the ocean « yyeeeeep woooop yeeepeeep ». Must be quite an experience. Keep up the good vibes guys !
All looks great!! Those back flips look so sweet! I just nailed heel to toe tacks and so stoked for this year. 🤙🤙I don't do much jumping but love gliding through island waters and being in the moment with the scenery. I love wind sports. Looking forward to more!🤙🤙
What setup is easier when you are on choppy waters and marginal winds? A neutrally buoyant board that you have to stink bug start? Or a partial sinker with foot straps?
Hi gwen, i see you always ride in the strap with your backfoot. But how do you get going if wind is coming from the other direction and you have to start switch?
Yes the board has to be small than 55-60L to do what Gwen is doing in this video. He is forcing the board back under him after a crash, so if it’s bigger than 55-60L, it become too difficult. Also takes good core strength 😅 Will try to make a video on this soon 🤓
Thanks for the answer! I tried to recover after a crash on my 65L board (my weight 75kg) but seems board is too floaty... I can't sink it, my technic is wrong... Looking forward to see the video about sinker recovery, and would be great if you try different volume boards 🙂 Thanks in advance 🤙
v180/276 will be more twitchy, turns tighter, more playful than the more locked in / more stable v180/346 combo. v180/346 is the replacement for the hs180 so it will feel very similar.
@@DamienLeroyUA-cam so what stabilizer is he using then? The numbers confuse me. The standart orange 2021 180sqm is more stable, I guess, I use it. What is the effect on pumping the foil? ... thank you for the awesome video and the chance to look over Gwen's shoulders ⭐🤠😘
What microphone are you using? Also, is that the front or back wing that is whistling right before Gwen backflips? Is that an issue with those foils? Can it be fixed via sanding?
The front wing whistles at higher speed, could be fixed with some sanding, but Gwen said he likes to hear the foil whistle just before a trick, that way he knows he's got the speed to send it, haha!

Thanks a lot guys awesome skills on display! Material enough for a lot of sessions.. ❤
Thanks Peter! We appreciate you! 🙏🙌
The real star of the show is that beautiful rider at 9:46 to 9:47, he glides by the screen so smooth and effortlessly, a true hero!
very nice smooth session even when things go wrong... Nice watching and learned a lot
Thanks Christoph! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏🙌
We need a video for this Cowboy Tack @7:34 😳 Never seen that before!
It’s coming! 😁

Awesome video ❤ Very nice footage and sound 🤙🤙🤙

Having a board that floats you will always be easier in marginal winds for sure, sinker boards can be a struggle, haha!
This is pure gold
Thank you friend!
EYYYUUUUU,,,,,,,,,Another great video, made it look so easy
Thank you Dan! We appreciate you!
Cowboy tacks are great
What is this helmet? Is it Gath?
Hi gwen, i see you always ride in the strap with your backfoot. But how do you get going if wind is coming from the other direction and you have to start switch?
can you please make the video about how to recovery after crash with staps? board have to be sinker?

Great session Gwen. Could you tell me what model Da kine helmet it is that you’re wearing?
It's actually the Gath Neo helmet
What’s the helmet? Great video🔥
Tacks onto the waves looks sick! Gives me something to shoot for (I think backflips are out of reach for me haha)
So fun!
please, can you explain the difference between hs 180 and v180/276 fuselage and v180/346 fuselage
thank you

Gwen is using the v180/276 combo. It’s a bit more twitchy than the hs180 tail, and it turns tighter.
which stabilizer and fuselage ???
Small 276 fuselage with v180 stabilizer
What a helmet are you wearing?
Gath Neo
Master!
Nice one!! how is the new code?
New Code is great, earlier take off, release very nicely from the water, Gwen’s loving it!
Awesome 👏
Thank you Fred!

@@DamienLeroyUA-cam That's actually very useful!
So so smooth loved it!!!!!! What weight are you I ride a 80ltr at 85kg might try staying in the straps after a drop now.......... amazing 😍
Gwen weighs about 70-75kg and his board is 60L. Thanks for the kind words! 🙏🙌
Awesome! Gwen has gotten soooo good! How much do you weigh Gwen?
Thanks for the kind words! Gwen weighs about 155-160 lbs
How windy is it. You are riding a small wing.
20-25 mph I think
Most were on 4m and 5m but Gwen is Gwen!
@@DamienLeroyUA-cam On video it looks like really light wind conditions. Are you guys gonna visit the SF Bay area some time?
@@pierrearmand2793 We hope to get over there this summer but we will see.
can't believe how many wingers are out there. It rivals Maui in sheer numbers.
Fort Pierce, FL is such a great spot!
Nice :)
