4 Trains in 40 Minutes at Jacana + 60-Year-old unit hauls SSR Spoil Train

- After waiting for the V/Line Albury Passenger Service to depart Southern Cross, Pacific National's 4MS2, Qube Holdings 4MS7 & Southern Shorthaul Railroad's 4MC4 depart one after the other on line clearance. The Qube Holdings empty Apex Quarry Train also gets involved following the three Standard Gauge Freights, making for 4 Freight Trains climbing the grade between the Moonee Ponds Creek Viaduct & Jacana Railway Station within 37 minutes of each other. A special Southern Shorthaul Railroad Spoil Train also features led by 60-year-old unit T363 & ex V/Line locomotive P18 roughly 70 minutes after the first service passed by.
All five trains consisted of different locomotives, with 12 different types making their way up the grade, with the oldest unit dating back 68 years to 1952 and the newest only 10 years old. The hardworking EMDs & Alcos from across generations of Australian locomotive building are captured, hauling a mixture of different freight, including Steel, Containers, Grain Hoppers, Ore Hoppers & Flat Wagons.
There aren't many scenarios where you'll see such a variety of locomotives and trains running one after the other like this anywhere in Australia.

awesome
Thank you, I enjoyed your combine voice over commentary together with subtitles. As usual very good close up footage.
Thanks, Greg! Glad the combination is well received. Didn't want to take away the sounds of the train going past but thought it was time to add in voiceovers as the world is definitely more into listening than reading.
Thanks again, mate!

Heritage liveries are just sooooo cooooool!!! It's tough to beat a VR blue loco.
Especially on a C class! It's an iconic locomotive in that livery!
Matt - M&S Trains
@@MS_Trains I've got a C class in V/Line (expected release 2018) on order. Since I ordered it, I've developed a fondness for the VR Blue.
@@avlisk I do like the V/Line livery too. We've got an Austrains C class in VR but haven't decided on if we'll purchase an auscision one.

@@MS_Trains I had 3 but sold them when I switched to North American railroading. Always regretted it. Now I'm trying to get one again. (ETA 2023)
@@avlisk Hopefully, it's worth the wait!

🎉
Good video, are you going to cover the diverted trains in the hills at the moment?
Hard to cover the diverted trains in the Hills from Melbourne! Will do my best in Melbourne, however but it seems to be a fair amount of night running so far.
Matt - M&S Trains
@@MS_Trains oh you’re in Melbourne! My bad. The diverted trains should go through there anyway right?
@@Planetrainguy Yeah, they do but seems to be at night most of the time. Got a couple so far, so we will see how we go.
Would've preferred to of got them in the Hills, but you can't always win!
