That is a Big ass Mother of a Train and all that work,Would love to do this for a living ,Great video also as i was on its Sister The Indian Pacific that had 40 or more Carriages back in February with my Mum back in February when we went from Sydney to Adelaide and was on this for 24 hrs,That is a long Journey but well worth it.
Reminds me of the USA with that bell ringing on the train! Heard that kind of GE bell sound on Amtraks hiawatha, wolverine, and the Empire builder that ive seen a couple times. Now they have these boring electronic bells that just sound way too digital to me. Mechanical bells always sound the best!
Andrew Bruce oh Yes as i have been on this in late February from Sydney to Adelaide with my Mother ,Absolutely worth it if don't mind being on this for 24 hrs and Broken hill is worth a look along with the living Desert tour.
some of those locos are being transferred from one depot to another.....or there aresome nasty winds slowing the train down for all that extra power.......
I can tell you the g class wasn’t online as I know what they sound like when they are online, and I don’t think the csr class and the gwu class were online
The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) had asked freight operators Pacific National, QR National, Specialised Container Transport (SCT), Genesee & Wyoming Australia (GWA) and Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia (CFCLA) to each provide a locomotive for the special train to Port Augusta

CSR and G5 werent live. No smoke.
The CSR wasn't and I don't think G512 wasn't live either but I can't be certain.
