Oh my gosh!! I laughed so hard when you did the Jenny Rip!! Natalie, you looked delighted😂
I've done a lot of ripping in my 70+ years of sewing, but I learned new tricks from you today. Thanks, Natalie!
Natalie, you are a blast!!! I'm loving these tutorials.
The Jenny rip had me laughing and her laugh in background 😂. I enjoy learning new things from you.
You are just too funny …..and I’ve done that “Jenny” rip several times too…..🤣😁
That’s hilarious! These are great tips, I’m with Jenny whenever I can do it!
You just taught me the correct way to use my seam ripper! Thanks
Thanks, Natalie! As long as I’ve been sewing, and as many stitches as I’ve ripped, it’s always nice to see other tools and new techniques. ❤️
Omg, My seam ripper is 43 years old....and watching you use yours makes me realize how dull mine is! Time for a new one!!
hi natalie so glad you are back
Lovely too see you back Natalie doing a tutorial on your own. When are we going to have some more of your Final Stitch tutorials. Pleased to see that all your family are well after the Covid scare. xx
OMG Thank you Natalie ... over the past decades I have always clipped every other thread in order to remove stitches. YOU have just saved me a ton of time. Never too late to learn. Thank you!
You are so talented..and FUNNY! I love your quilts in triple play. They are always so creative! Great seeing more of you in these videos!
I've tried this so many times and I always land up cutting through my fabric. You make it seem so easy. I guess I need to practice on non-quilt pieces. 😁
Super! Great tips! Loved the Jenny rip!!!
I’ve been sewing for over 50 years and yet I still can learn something new from you!
I would say Jack is my best friend in my sewing room! Thanks, Nat.
In my quilting group we say we have a date with Jack when we have to rip.
@@ruthhilsdorf3210 Exactly. We’re quite chummy.
I learned the correct way to rip sometime ago…….love the Jenny Way to rip sometimes!
I love seeing Natalie again!
Ha ha, Natalie! That last technique was great!! I was using my seam ripper to pull off paper pieces as I watched, THANKS for the giggle 😃
I call it “reverse sewing!” I liked your tip about breaking a few stitches on top before ripping down the seam. Thank you!
Oh my goodness I have wasted so much time not doing this. Thank you soooo much.
Great job! Natalie, it’s good to see you back! Enjoyed the techniques and the laugh at the end!
I learned several new tricks for seam ripping, surprised. Thanks!
So glad Natalie is back with the Quilting 101! Always tips and tricks to learn! Thanks!
Wow! I had no idea that there was another way to use a seam ripper. I always used the first way you showed. I’m fact, I never even owned a seam ripper for many years and just used a small pair of sharp scissors to clip the stitches like you did with #1😄😄😄😂😂
Great hacks, Natalie
Love this! I saw you do this on the final stitch! So much easier and more efficient to rip instead of pick! I love the Jenny rip but I am too chicken to do that, lol
You make that look so easy!
I love it! Recently ripped out star legs I didn't realize were upside down until they were bordered by other fabrics in a quilt top. Nothing like ripping in 3 directions just to get them out. Lol. In your next video maybe explain why there is a ball on the seam ripper and which direction it should be in while ripping. Ie up or down in the seam.
Natalie, you are a hoot! After I learned the easy way to seam rip, from another video you did, I don’t mind it at all, now
I’ve been ripping seams the hard way!! Thank you for the tips!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Great tips! Thank you🥰
So happy to see you back! Great tips! Thank you!
wow, you are quick!
Lol I love your face when you did Jenny’s way 😊
Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Please do more videos, your great fun and offer such wonderful assistance
My friend always told me what ye shall sew ye shall rip lol thanks for all the tips
Oh Natalie I’ve missed you!
Love watching Natalie with all of her quilting advice with tips for us quilters on our quilting journey. What is your fastest and easy way to sew quilt blocks together ?
I have sewn blocks in rows vertically and tried vertical also. What do you do ?
Sweet attitude about ripping out!!❣️ clover is by far the best. Thinner end to get under stitch. D ritz lighted one is too think on end. Otherwise nice idea. I guess I have a new friend😄
Thanks for this tip! I've ripped quite a few seems in my day! LOL
Too funny love videos
I have my seam ripper the other way up so that if you slip the hole you make is in the seam allowance not the front of the quilt. Must admit I love the Jenny Rip, very satisfying but probably not good for the material and keeping the squareness of your quilt. 😁
Classic
You are so adorable ☺️
Oh my goodness I would be so afraid to rip it the Jenny way! LOL But enjoyed this video and did not realize you could do it the way you showed to do it. I’ve always thought you had to pick the seams from the outside and just slowly work your way down. I did not know you could put it through the seam like that and just go down it with the seam ripper! I’m kind of looking forward to the next time I have to rip a seam open LOL
❤️❤️❤️
I did the Jenny Doan seam rip today..lol
Is there an easy way to rip out fmq with tangled nests on the back?? Very daunting and alot to rip out!!
I wish! I have a quilt that went very wrong with my fmq, and now I guess I’ll just have to rip as best I can and start over. 😩
Great video and tips but one thing you didn't address was what is the little red ball on the tip of the ripper for, I thought it was a guide to run thru the underside of the seam so you don't rip the fabric but I noticed that you used it on the top and the bottom :D
I totally agree with you. That is the way I learned to use my seam ripper.
The Jenny Seam Rip … immediately makes me think of my grandma. That’s how she would rip a seam of any length. It would frighten the heck out of me because I wouldn’t want to warp my fabric. My grandma would say, “It’s no big deal. We aren’t going to rip a seam on the bias.” Then would come the rip and … no warp. She was always lucky. Me … nope not so much.
Yesszz
I’ve never seen anyone rip seams like you did and certainly not as fast as you did. I’ve been using seam rippers for decades and had no idea. I figure I have a 75% rip rate and many projects.
By the way, I’ve done the Jenny way mostly when I’m frustrated 😂
More Nat-a-lie please.
I noticed you had the red ball on the top of your seam ripping. Is there a reason to put it to the top? I was told to put it on the bottom, but I also cut the fabric a couple of times when I did it that way. Thanks. :)
So the little red ball is facing the top?
The Jenny way is how I do long seams usually when it’s curtains or a dress seam 😂
I’ve had trouble every single time I tried running a seam ripper between the fabrics; it always ends up cutting into the fabric. Always.
Me too. I just do it the slow way so I won’t cut the fabric.
I think Natalie is a great teacher. But that studio looks like a Garage. I think she deserves more and better. Go find a male quilter to decorate the set. Looks like decor by Lesbian🏳️🌈🤼♀️👭. I anticipate seeing tools, and a 12 pack of Coors Light. 🍻🔧🛠🔨⛏📐📏📌📍
You forgot to edit out the ugliness in the comment…
You are so adorable ☺️
