whats the laptop at the start in the background that you are watching your feed on?
I love your videos, thank you! However there are some things missing for me. Could you please do a flex test not only on the chassi, but also the display? I want to know how stridy that display chassi is to better judge the build quality. Also sometimes you don't show the cpu thermals while doing cinebench, and when you play hogwarts sometimes the cpu thermals are also not visible.
the vapour chamber temps were good?
Is the battery changeable? If in some years bloating or capacity lost occures?
I wonder at what point is a secondary monitor too big for this thing? I am seriously considering a tv.
You can buy the razor charger for other laptops and have the same portability
Sorry, where's the link to the ifixit kit?
My Blade 15 from early 2019 is still doing pretty well with a slight OC to the 2070 Max-Q (7433 Time Spy Graphics). Feel like Razer got left behind in the spec race in later versions of the Blade 15 as all the competitors increased GPU wattage (using 115-140W versions of the 2060, 2070 Super. 3060, 3070, etc.) while Razer stuck to around 90W-100W all this time. It's nice that these GPUs can now reach close to their full limit in the new 16" chassis. Probably needs some more fine tuning in Throttlestop and Afterburner to get it closer to the big 18" laptops.
2070 max q does pretty good for most game even newer ones at 1080p I have 2020 model 10750H 2070 max q , my first gaming PC 🍾
@@tonyrendonn Yeah, given the steam hardware survey says the 1650 is the most popular GPU, with a 2070MQ one’s still good for 1080p gaming 4 years after launch. The benefits over a 2060 (2 gigs more of VRAM) and a 1070MQ (no DLSS) are pretty apparent now, the DX12 performance of the 20-series is also proving itself for longevity.
I do feel tempted by these 4080/4090 laptops though. A 18-20k Time Spy Graphics score is pretty nuts for a laptop, plus games like Hogwarts Legacy have upped the bar for game requirements.
@@anarki_in5680 I mean if you have the money and then some more it would be a good upgrade, me personally will still stay with my Razer blade for next year's new release laptops lol after having it for 2.5 years it's serves me good for daily use never had a problem with it
Have you had any issues with your Razer? I'm tempted to buy one but I have heard more complain about issues with Razer than any other brand
@@LoKiMuzik Nope still going strong in the second half of 2023. I have replaced the battery once in these 4.5 years, not because it swelled but because it stopped holding a decent charge. Bought the replacement battery off Amazon at the 3rd year mark.
I like Razer for the best inside design compared to other Windows laptops at same price, just hope one day I will be able to afford this laptop! 😅
Does anyone know if the trackpad doubles as a numpad?
Do you have the last gen Razer 17? I’m not super in love with the display on mine. Trying to decide between this 240 hz or mini led blade 16. Would love to hear a comparison.
which did u buy?
I have a msi gt77 and don’t like it anymore and want to get a razer blade 16 is it worth it
Can you turn off the touchpad via function keys? Also does the wrist rest stay cool if you are running at lower graphics settings?
Fn+T to turn touchpad off. Wrist rest does not get too hot imo.
1200p 240 hertz in this screen size is better than 1600p 240hz. With 1600p you will have less FPS anyway. So 1080p is just perfect, especially having the option for 4k 120hz.
I enjoyed your long more casual look at the laptop, the 4090 model is definitely something i'm looking to upgrade to from my 2019 Blade with a 2080.
The performance with the surprisingly low temperatures in what is still quite a sleek chassis is very impressive.
for 4k? lol
Most anticipated review by far. My Razer Blade Studio has been great 4 years+, I just wish Razer would release the Mercury White Blade 16 already. Better yet, getting a Studio Refresh with the RTX 6000 ADA GPU would be a dream come true. The RTX 5000 by the way has been excellent. This generation we have finally seen real performance improvements thanks to vastly more efficient GPUs. Having a laptop this small beating out 3090 Desktops and doing so without being loud, what a great time to be alive!
1000 IQ. The RTX 6000 ada lines up with the turing flagship Quadro RTX 8000 which was allocated at a much higher grade than your Quadro RTX 5000. If Razer does miraculously release that product it will be at a Min price of $9000. Also forget about the 48 GB VRAM, even 24 GB is not very possible in laptops unless Hynix or Samsung develops a 4 GB chip.
I wanna see that bencmark. Thinkin
between razer and asus strix scar 16 and 18 in both. Link that benchmark pls.
aren't they like $1k apart and Asus better CPU?..
@@alext9558 no not thst mcuch. Yes asusu should be anywhere from 3 to 11 percent faster but alienware is more conoact more premium has print scrreen bigger better trackpad , i like the psu connector shape and how it connects also the bbraded cable also it os gan also looks better and also smaller and also the whole laptop desogn is better smaller and the display is closer ro you amd lower , but asus is 1 or 200 nit brigter has 240hz at higher res, at 2k, and the mentioned performance is better and has 2 m.2 places and borh can be doible sides so 2x8 terrbytes while razer lets only half, razer lets 5600mhz ram but only for up to 32gb i dont know about asus. At that ponit, i dont careuch about price. And asus have no print screen but have custom shortcut buttom i think, tazer has sd card reader asus dont. Asus has better battery life i think and better program to customize the hardwaee. I heard razer can be undevolted and overclocked i dont know about asus. Im curious about final top performances on bith 4 models. And we need mini led on 18 models roo. And touxhscreen also. And me specifically i need a laptop with 360 and asus hardaware but razer design and build quality :)) actually i like the xq6 design the most but it needs biggee trackpad no logo inder the screen , better screen reflection texhnology and 13980hx cpu at 65w and 175w 4090 and 140w pd charging with maxed out tdp to get most out 140w and also razer sryle and size connector braded cable and power adapter. My dream laptop. Oh if it wpuld be 2000 nit bright and 4k 240hz and not 16 but 17 inches, it would be the absoulte dream with still 16 by 10 aspect ratio. And i need funckion butoomnumperpad bug glass trackpad wirh apple lik not mooving trackpad buttoms and printsceen buttom with more thunderbolt port and usb 3.0 port which is inside the laptop for usb mouse. Why they leave it out always.... Ahh..... I would honestly srill would make my own laptop. From parts. Iphone screen is 2000 nit brigth. S23 ultra is ppeobably a bit more acfurate we could have oled isteas of of mini led for better response time and ghosting. But actually im more than happy with mini led. Work on the other things firsz mr. Companies. Thanks.
Bud what camera do you use for your shots and how far is it from you actually?
Sony A7S III, about 2.5-3 ft
@@GizmoSlipTech i gotta check those out... Any specific lens?
u did great review woooow
So sad they screwed your 4090 order, I saw your Reddit post when you posted it :( Hope you can test it as well.
Will u do gaming laptops giveaways in the future
Out of curiosity I checked the prices for the Razer 16 and compared to the STRIX Scar, for the price of the 4080 Razer 16, I can get the 4090 Scar 16. I am not sure I can really justify spending so much extra for a slightly thinner setup, what does everyone else here think?
If you want price to benchmark performance, Razer doesn’t have it. What Blade 16 has is more of an all-rounder approach to gaming PCs. Blades have been called the MacBooks of gaming, and I thought that was no longer fair to Apple, as MBs of today are quiet, great on battery, good mix of performance and thermals, and no longer all that thin. With Blade 16, though, I think it’s actually a fair comparison because they made it thicker and also runs quieter and better. It’s the closest thing to a MacBook Pro I’ve found in the Windows world. If that makes you eye roll, then buy ASUS. If that has you intrigued, I think the Blade 16 is worth the money. The build is amazing. Keyboard and trackpad are great. Screen is good. Software is polished. Even the power brick feels premium. It won’t win benchmarks, but it has a joy of use that’s hard to describe.
You are really paying extra for the premium CNC build and design. Strix Scar has superior performance and better values but it’s just too plastic and “gamer” designed for me. But it’s all personal preference! I would recommend SCAR in previous years due to undervolted GPU and CPU in past Razer products, but I’m pretty sure Razer narrowed the gap this year with it’s thicker chassis!
don't forget Asus has better CPU!
@Gizmosliptech00 lol
@@mbvglider Razer dont put mini led in 4080 version...
2:54 which laptop is in the background bro?
When I called and asked Razer they said the 13980HX/64GB config of the Blade 18 should be out by early March. So they are doing a 13980HX config soon in the 18 inch model. I did not ask about the Blade 16.
16:10 displays are being common now . Lenovo legion did it 2 years ago
If you recommend me to buy the razer blade 16 to play call of duty and pubg,?
did u buy
needs num pad for gta 5 flying :I
Undervolt benchmarks?
I am not first
Not first club!
:(
Those 1% lows worry me
Cool review. Never been a fan of razer. Absolutely hate the green logo. Wish they would make it rgb. Change up the design or something
its is rgb
Nice
isn't 80c going to fry the gpu mem?
No, thermal limit for nvidia gpus is 87C in laptops. Should be safe up to that point
@@GizmoSlipTech Okay thanks just was wondering and what the hotspot on this laptop was for the gpu?
Does the 4080 use DSLL3?
Ngl I was seeing some fps stuttering
I always like your videos, but now at over 1 hours,
I have other stuffs to do
Just so everyone knows, Hogwarts is bugged and has memory leaks. So everyone's systems should be running it a lot better but there are issues with the game currently.
This laptop is basically an all black Macbook Pro
Thats way thicker with much worse speakers and battery life
10:48 So ... Am i suppose to play QHD res. with RTX 4090. LoL.
Yes, with a laptop 4090 (not the same as desktop), performance at QHD is fantastic. 4k is doable, but will need to turn some settings down in some games to push fast frames
The top bezels of the screen is still thick imo
False. If they were to reduce the top bezel size even more, you would be upset with the crippled tiny webcam and junk WiFi/BT antennas that would come with that. Be careful with what you wish for.
Furthermore, the bezel helps to provide rigidity to the top case.
@@rrokinThey can follow the webcam design from the Lenovo Legion, where only the bezels in the middle are thicker for the webcam.
970 contrast lol
I will go with Lenovo Legion slim 7i, provides much better value + awesome build and also the cooling is far superior. Razer is just trying to copy Apple with the pricing scheme. I returned my Blade 15 Advanced RTX 3070, as it was a toaster even when on idle and while gaming, mannn I felt like kept my hand on a frying pan. I can get a better deal with other company who offers same or better specs with lower price.
M16 Alienware is the best value and build quality and performance , thermal performnace on the Alienware so far is unmatched . The performance gap isn’t just a few frames but 15-20 frames due to the TDP and higher power limits out of the the box . You don’t buy a labtop to overclock and play with power limits that’s when things get messy on a labtop . Your paying 1k over just for the brand where the m16 build quality is amazing not to forget the cooling system on the Alienware is better quad fans and liquid cooled GPU and CPU with a vapor chamber . Sorry blade 16 isn’t worth it . Any labtop that doesn’t have proper TDP feeding it’s internals isn’t worth it .
The Alienware display is a disappointment tho, and from past experience Razer has superior build quality than Alienware
M16’s CPU is cooking in comparison to others with “worse” cooling. Their GPU temps are great though. There’s also that 55w CPU limit that you have to disable in the bios and loads of other little software nitpicks that limit performance and of course the much larger size with the Alienware that make it less favorable. Overall it is a decent machine though.
First already
Second
third person
Biggest draw back to the Razer is always the price.
Almost always £400-£600 more expensive for often worse performance.
Did you even watch the video lol? Actually you don't even have to in order to realize that Razer this time has the full TDP+TGP so performance will be the same if not better. This is the only laptop you will see with a true vapor chamber design in 2023. Or yeah go get a 50% bigger laptop ie. MSI Titan GT77 for a $1000 more and get 5-10% better performance.
@@JtwasLuck there were already some disappointing benchmarks where it clearly loses out to the G18... & That device is significantly cheaper, with a better chip, a numberpad.
Don't be a razer dick rider, yet again it won't be the best laptop to buy for about the 15th year in a row & it's extremely overpriced.
@@WildfireX lol not everyone cares about price/performance. Dick riding? People with money like nice things retard, I do at least. G18 looks and feels like trash, go ahead and get that to save 500 bucks and get slightly better performance.
